Me and you thought of exact same idea and design! I bought a recon 120 and it didn't have the peddle system with it and i dont plan to spend the money to buy one 😂
What size motor are you using? Also I have the radar 135 and the opening is only 12” by 3.25”.how do you hate the motor head to drop in? TIA for the help. Bob
Clean setup but it looks like it would be a little high and interfere with fishing. Couldn't the mount be lowered and shorten the shaft to lower the profile?
Hey man! Thanks for the comment and suggestions. It could definitely be done like you suggested. After testing the set up out, and catching a few fish. I haven't found much interference. I have only had it out on the water once this year and haven't caught anything big yet, surprisingly when the trolling motor is in the stowed possition, you're still able to paddle as well. You might have to move your seat back a little bit but it works!
You don't get tossed into the drink. Haha. Valid point. No different than any other trolling motor on any other boat. A kill switch would be ideal tho.
I used a deep cycle trojan battery with high amp hours. I would reccomends using a light lithium ion battery though. I just stuck it in the back and ran some thick copper cable with quick connects.
