Walk-through and test paddle of the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120.
The Tarpon 120 is part of the original sit-on-top fishing kayaks that Wilderness Systems came to market with. It is a popular kayak among anglers who do a lot of open water kayaking. 12 feet and 3 inches long, 30 inches wide and only weighs 63 pounds. It is a boat that can really cover distance but is also easy to maneuver in tight spaces. It tracks well considering it is a shorter boat.
The is a stable kayak that offers more stability than the framed seats that sit higher out of the water. Because the seat sits lower to the water, it will be more stable when paddling. There is a hatch in the bow and open deck storage in the stern. A great option for kayak fishing.

Great review! Got an 8 year old Tarpon 120 that has performed very well for me and I still use it a few times a week. Tracks great and deals with wind and current well, but still very maneuverable. The seat improvements on the newer Tarpon are nice and really all it needed.

Hey Ric: I got my Tarpon 100 (not 120, but then I'm only 130lbs) in slime green in 2010 and it is still my #1 kayak. 8 years of solid fun use so far. Many more to go.

I love my Tarpon 120! I have another yak, but always go back to the Tarpon for its speed and its fishing features .

I have the 2010 model tarpon 120, it was my first and only kayak I’ve owned so far and can’t ever see getting rid of it.

HI, I love my Tarpon 120!! I have this exact model/color. Unfortunately, I bought it used and it didn’t come with the seat. Do you know of a good replacement seat. I looked up the air pro max phase 3 seat but everything I read says it doesn’t fit the Tarpon 120. Maybe it’s changed? Regardless, I need a seat recommendation if you have one. THANKS!!
