Fire sason is not looking that bad so far with only 41,000 acres of land burned thus far and it is far below the record 4,397,809 acres burned down in 2020.

I wonndr how much will burn this year. It will likely be below average considering the amount of rain received but again the rainfall has likely evaporated from the winter and so again it could be bad. .

Not only does SoCal have this past wet season's dying vegetation to burn, it has last season's that just sat there as well. This fire season will be compounded by all that extra fuel. California got lucky last year.

Federal policies for over 100 years has required all fires be extinguished as soon as possible and made it nearly impossible for state officials to mitigate fires on these lands. Federal officials, on both sides, have been playing politics and pointing fingers instead of doing their jobs. It's also not only California dealing with this. They just get much more publicity due to a larger population.

Forest/Wildfires are essential for replacing dried up vegetation and are parts of the natural cycle in California.
