Just moved to Oregon from Alabama and this will be my first season, and first ever actual job that means something. So proud I chose this calling, best decision of my life

I did it for 11 years and if there's one piece of advice I'd give it would be keep your head on a swivel while doing the job. One more thing, take plenty of water and Gatorade because most of the time all you have is what you take on the line with you. Stay safe

I did wild land firefighting for 11 years never thought of the danger factor the whole time doing it. I'm now 50 injured L5 vertebrae that sends pain down my left buttocks and left leg making me need to use a cane. If I was younger and injured I'd be on the line with my brothers and sisters. Stay safe

If all goes as planned this will be my first season!! I have an interview coming up. Probably starting on a helitack crew. My dream is to be on a hotshot crew eventually.
