UPDATE 12/4: Jojo found a forever home! He was adopted over Thanksgiving weekend. He lives in Sacramento, with a wonderful human, also named Joe🥰, and a doggy brother. Thank you, Dodo community, for sharing his video and making this happen. You are all part of Jojo's story ❤

“I had rented a van so we could take him to the shelter” hit me like a tonne of bricks, crying.

Seeing Jojo live his life in loneliness previously broke my heart, when humans are lonely they can talk to their friends. But animals? Glad Jojo being well treated! May he always be happy and healthy ❤

So sad his previous owners abandoned him. I will never understand how anyone can just throw their dog away like trash for ANY reason. Plus It’s clear he’s up there in age. My heart broke when she brought him back to his old stomping grounds and he smelled every trash can. It must have been so difficult for him when he relied on trash just to survive. There are children in this world, that feel that same desperation. This is a great story with a great outcome, but I still feel like crying.

With all the people dumping animals I’m so grateful there are people like her out there giving these lost souls a chance.

He obviously really enjoys your couch (& the great views from your beautiful windows), but clearly tummy scratches are his favourite activity! 🐶🥰 He also seems very attached to you, & quite settled into your lovely home (which looks quite beautiful btw). Given this, it would be fantastic if you could somehow manage to keep him; but given your obvious compassion & commitment to rescuing him in the first place, I have no doubt you must have a very good reason for not doing so. 🙏🤞 Thank you, once again, for everything you did for him.
