Didn't know the Lumix had pre-burst. Impressed with the amount of shots before buffer. Interesting amount of wildlife on this reserve. I'm surprised the glass doesn't affect quality of image or focus. Great video.
Yes although I think I was wrong on needing to hold the shutter down beforehand. Will need to check. In summer there really can be a great amount but this winter has shown me how bad it is at this time of year! I don't know if you can tell in the video but the glass windows can be opened one at a time if need be. They are on those gate latch type things :)
Good see that you have posted another vlog Joe. The weather has certainly not done us UK photographers any favours so far this year and as you were saying i have no decent wildlife shots this year due to crappy weather despite my best efforts.
It has really sucked hasn't it?! I went for a local walk earlier and aside from some green Woodpeckers and little egrets saw pretty much nothing which is never good!
Nice one Joe, I am having the same issues this year with wildlife photogrpahy and vlogs, just struggling to be motivated alot of the time. You got some great shot here though man I dont know why but my favourite shot is the one of the heron with the vehicle in the background.
Same here! My wife liked that one as well! I know exactly what you mean mate my motivation levels have nose dived! Right now I am in a hide doing video tests and not wildlife photography lol
Thanks for sharing this very "real" experience. I agree that it's good to get out there even if conditions aren't ideal. They can change, especially the light and, as Liam on A Shot Of Wildlife has learnt from me, sometimes you just need to make yourself available to luck (stolen from the late Douglas Adams' character Dirk Gently). Also I believe we should venture out with the primary goal of just enjoying nature, then if we get some good images or footage (or sounds) then that's a bonus. Keep it up Joe! 👍👌😃
Totally agree. I must say the bug has worn off a little of late. I think I need to venture a little further out and explore some new locations. Much easier to feel inspired that way.
I also did a lot of tests and came to the conclusion that Cinelike-D 10Bit 4.2.2 is the clearest profile, even better than the HLG which loses a little bit of detail.
Great video mate, just goes to show it's often worth sticking it out and putting the time in isn't it? Heron's are one of my favorite birds to photograph too. Thanks for the mention, much appreciated, Steve.
@@JoeMaranophotography Hi Joe, no snow here just more rain!!!!!!! Although should have snow next week, off to the Cairngorms. Enjoy your week off hope you get more good images.
@@SteveHedgesPhotography No such luck Steve life has taken a huge dump on me this week and will be back at work before I know it. Just Friday and Monday left for any possibilities.
Thanks for watching folks see you on the next one! I must be doing something right as I got my first dislike straight after uploading. Maybe it was the smudge on my lens at the start 🤔😂
weather is not much better across the pond in netherlands. storm storm storm and a lot of rain. no chance to get out and test out my new camera :p but they predict march will be better ;p
I popped into RSPB Lakenheath on my way back from Blakeney Norfolk at the end of January, interesting location good for Bittern and reed loving birds, Have you had any luck there with these. Only there for a couple of hours and saw nothing except Goldcrest in the car park." I will be back" in the words of Arnold
Yes I briefly saw a kingfisher and a Bittern last summer but I didn't have the reach I have now so didn't get anything amazing but was still good to see as it was my first time :) Its a fun place to explore as a first timer but as a regular visitor it can get frustrating! I am not looking forwards to the summer rush although I think the rainy days could be really good as people tend to stay away!
