CORRECTION: 10:19 Thanks to @bienpaulzitanunez299 for pointing out a second M.2 slot-- at the left side of the internals, right above (or over) the Wi-Fi module! I wasn't able to clock this during my teardown. So yeah, no need to clone your M.2s when expanding, just add another M.2 SSD right there. Good catch!
Thanks a lot. I was worried about the battery life but 5 plus hours on normal use is good enough for me. Im gonna be plugging it in most of the time anyway.
I've got this laptop and its no where near 5 hours. mine only lasts 1 hour and a few minutes on full charge in battery saver mode, dark mode etc only browsing the web and some google docs stuff.
@@yasanimationi9541 It doesn't have much problem with high temperatures. Because vents are good. It reaches 50 to 55°C. But it get cool very fast. I'm using a cool pad. You can buy it happily. I suggested one of my friends with same config except i5 and RTX 3050. He bought it for Rs 68k. He's happy now. You can play games and learn technologies. It's quick and after booting everything is ready.
Got the Lenovo LOQ 15 Ryzen 7 7840HS yesterday for $699.99. Lenovo said it can take up to 32gb of RAM. But I read on some forums that it can work with 64gb. I got 2 32gb 4800MHz in there and it works fine. So, I have 64gb of RAM. I also added a 2TB NVME SSD to the 512gb that comes with the laptop (it has 2 slots). Nice deal from Best Buy. The best laptop for the money.
I have the i5 version of this (12450H). All I can say is this is a beast of a laptop! The only downside is that it only has 8GB of RAM (out of the box) but is totally upgradeable. The battery is a turn off to me too but thanks to sir Kevin pointing out that the battery might has a bigger space and might be replaceable gave me some hope for the future. :D Oh one more thing. Although the clockspeed is registered only on 2.00GHz, don't worry, as you run it on performance mode, the clockspeeds automatically clocks around 3.5-3.8 GHz!
Hello, I'm torn between this and the Acer Nitro V that has an I5 13th gen. Kumusta po ang performance? Parang itong Lenovo na kasi ang i p purchase ko since it has 3 years warranty.
@@PatatasPinas123if they have the same specs, both the lenovo loq and Acer nitro 5 performs similar to each other but the lenovo loq has a lot better build quality and an overall better screen and cooling system. Albeit the lenovo is slightly more expensive than the Acer.
Yeah i have a question that LITERALLY no one on the internet has addressed THE KEYBOARD.... How do you replace the keyboard ? you would think there would be like 50 videos on the subject there are many teardowns but ZERO Address the replacing of the keyboard so........???
The battery discharges quickly, lasting at most three and a half hours, not five hours. Also the battery drains even when the laptop is turned off. My previous laptop, which is 15 years old, did not have these battery issues until it was 10 years old. Also, consider that if you purchase it with 8GB of RAM, 50% of it belongs to Windows 11.
That's unfortunate to hear. You might want to check with Lenovo if your LOQ model has a battery problem, since I didn't encounter any issues with the review unit sent to me. True about the RAM though! Whenever I would recommend this to friends, I always tell them to spring for the 16GB RAM model at least-- there's just no sense in getting it with just 8GB.
My daughter's battery also does not barely last an hour if she unplugs to say come in living room to sit with me. She is mainly only playing Roblox or sims4. But I am not savvy on tech so never thought to check that it actually gives a battery last time. I'm also wondering about temps... I always read or watch vids talking about how hot gaming laptops get is 107degreez Fahrenheit too hot?
Thank you. I'm currently using the exact laptop as in the video. Your video was one of the many, MANY videos i watched about the laptop. I also love your editing, and this thorough review really let me make an informed decision. However, i couldn't get the usb c charging to work, but i'm sure it's the fault of my cables rather than the laptop itself. i got the 2560x1440 and 165hz display config along side with the intel i5 and rtx 4050.
Hello! USB-C charging on the LOQ15IRH8 requires a charger that supports the USB-PD standard, and at least 65W of power. Please check if your charger supports these standards. If yes, then have Lenovo check your unit, it might be a case of a faulty USB-C PD port. If not, you might have to purchase a supported charger. Hope this helps!
i have this laptop but my screen hz are locked in 60hz, its like it doesnt support 165hz, i went to adv display settings and search some more on control panel any ideas?
Thanks for this content, I purchased this laptop. I'm new in laptop, I noticed the battery consumption is a bit faster compared to the previous laptop I used before. I haven't made any drastic changes in setting, aside for this option: Conservation Mode. I turned on this option since it will extend the lifespan of the battery as per the description. Any tips/settings that I can do so that when the laptop is in battery mode it will last longer? Thank you!
I have the i5-12H with 4050(95w) variety, is 60-80°c is ok while gaming? Normally it stay between 69-75°c while gaming. I have enabled rtx level 4 on nvidia control panel. Please help, I'm worry about the tem😢
As pointed out by the earlier comment, there are TWO (2) NVME slots. You should correct this as it is a great feature which other laptops do not offer at this prince range unfortunately.
Thanks for the video. Good to see there is an actual second M.2. The problem I see is the thermals. The fan noise would be ok if the temps were kept lower. The CPU clearly lowers its clock when reaching 95C+ and that's a temp that shouldn't reach. At the very least not for a brand new laptop with relatively fresh thermal paste application and clean fans. The GPU reaching 79C is not great either, as the Nvidia GPU throttles at 85C. It's a shame they don't pay more attention to the thermals and I DO NOT MEAN POWER THROTTLING as some do to bypass the problem. Looks, I think it's an attractive laptop and I adore the blue color for the heatpipes.
4:30 - maybe I'm wrong, but the heatsinks might be anodized instead of being painted, so the thermal performance shouldn't be affected. On other Lenovo gaming laptops they heatsinks tend to have a black color.
Hello! I can confirm it's not anodized, it's an actual coat of paint on the fins. But they're not actually painted all the way through, just the few mm visible.
@@KevinEvangelista In that case sorry for the misdirection. After looking up photographs of Legion laptop heatsinks online, it seems that they are also painted only in the areas that are visible from the outside.
@@Max_Mustermann no worries, my dude! I'm just as confused as you are why Lenovo would paint the fins of a heatsink. But as long as it doesn't affect the temps too much, I'm alright with them haha!

Hello, Lenovo UK! Yes, this is #approved to go on your site as long as it's a direct link or embed. Please send some love over to Lenovo Philippines as well, as this review wouldn't have been possible if they didn't send over a review unit. Thanks! 😃
Honestly nothing. I own this laptop and use it daily. You can't get around the 60WH battery. There apparently is an 80WH battery out there from Lenovo, but I don't know where to buy it. I've done every setting you can to try and squeeze out extra life, and honestly if youre actually using it for work, let alone gaming, you should expect really no more than a couple hours unplugged.
My only question is do you guys think the 4060 version along with the i7 of this laptop can run Counter-Strike 2 on 300 fps or above with lower-ish settings? (not native res)
I use mine for both gaming ang productivity. I added 1tb nvme and 8 gb RAM, and installed Linux on it(dual boot). I only use Windows for gaming, then Linux for everything else.
How did you determine the RAM capacity to be 64gb? Checking the mobo (LNVNB161216) online with lenovo mentions 5200mt/s but then when I check my own laptop it mentions 5600mt/s...And im seeing conflicting reports saying it only supports 32gb. Maybe that's per channel?
I have the same laptop and i felt that the 170w power brick isn't enough...do u think using a 230w one on this laptop will result in better performance? Or the power input is maxed out at 170w?
@@hakanferreftw2408 I bought it but I just upgrade it to 32 GB coz the company suggest 32 GB and that's enough for me, But There're people that Upgrade it to 64 GB and they don't have any problem So you can but It's not suggested from the Lenovo
I would like to know if buying the 220 W adapter charger from Lenovo improves performance in any way as I can see it on the website for extra cash? Secondly what’s the average wait time from date you ordered your laptop to when you received your order as I have heard some possible complaints about wait times?
It should increase performance by a bit, and allow faster charging. 220W is the upper power limit for this laptop, so it should be able to run both the CPU and GPU at their best power options. I'm not sure about wait times since I got a review unit from Lenovo though... Might want to checm out local forums for that. Hope this helps!
It does. But both RAM sticks are removable, so you can just buy a 2x16GB set and install them onto the LOQ15IRH8 to have 32GB of RAM on there. Hope this helps!
Hello! Yes, all configurations of the LOQ 15IRH8 should have the same body / case materials across the board. The only configurable / customizable parts of the laptop are the internal specs, keyboard, and the display.
@@KevinEvangelista one last thing because I'm really confused Is there a version of loq lenovo laptop that has Core i5 gen 12 RTX 2050 Ram 8 ddr4 Im really confused because what matter I search I only find ddr5 and the one I want to buy in my country is ddr4 so idk 🥲💔 Please answer again
I have the 4050 and 12450H Variant and I believe same reminders lang din when it comes to desktop ram. 1. Buy only from trusted stores, bought mine (crucial rband) from ITW 2. Try to match to stock ram in terms of speed and capacity. I personally have mismatched ram, 8gb (5600mhz ) +16gb (4800mhz). 4800mhz lang din kasi ang 12450H and I planning on adding another stick of 16gb hence the mismatch but I have not encountered any problems.

Bro I need your help. The laptop's refresh rate is capped at 144hz and games that run at 60fps looks like 30fps Is there any way of fixing this. Note there's no option for 60hz in the settings it only shows 144
about the note about the low voltage... is it too low? does it offer software that upvolts it? or, is it even OK to upvolt it for a regular 3 hour session? thank you. it was very helpful and its very nice to see a new review about it online (old reviews usually dont reply back). im in a 3rd world country and this is considered expensive, so i wanted to be super sure before investing in it. thanks again!
I'm not sure if it's region-locked or it would depend on a specific set of options on the Lenovo website, but there is an option to get this with a 220W power brick. And the combination of the i7 and the RTX4060 supports around 220W of maximum power draw. No need for special software for that, you mainly just have to set it to performance mode in the Lenovo Advantage software. And yes, it's OK to run it at that wattage for a regular 3-hour gaming session-- if you don't mind your room getting a bit hot. haha! Thank you very much for the kind words! I'm glad you appreciate the effort I put into the review. 😀
