Been looking at Wildwood videos while on quarantine. The Governor just shut down the boards and the beach. I go down at least once every year to say hello to my father. He passed in 2013 and we put his ashes in the ocean at his favorite fishing spot, several miles out in front of Wildwood. I use the big wheel as his grave marker.
My favorite ride is "The Great Nor'Easter." I miss Dracula's Castle, and the old Mine Ride on Hunt's Pier. I used to go home to Philly with a couple of boxes of Douglass' fudge. I used to stay at the Shore Plaza Motel when I would vacation with my family. I was saddened to hear that the place burnt down. Rebuilt now, but different. I'm living in Georgia now so the only way to keep up with things going on in Wildwood is on RU-vid. Thanks for the awesome video.
man, this is some of the best footage of Wildwood I've ever seen. your camera work has reached new levels dude, seriously. loved the POV shots too, since I always chicken out going on rides but hope to finally change that next year. at this point, Joey from Wildwood Video Archives or Al from Wildwood365 need to work with you because the filming in this is awesome, plus you have a great knowledge and history of Wildwood. been going there since I was a kid in the early 90's so I can attest to that.
Sean Gallagher I love Joey and to put me in that category with him is an absolute honor. Thank you. I tried really hard this year to make a great video and I think this is my best Wildwood video yet.
+1 Sean, I couldn't have said it better myself 👍👏 🍻 I am also afraid of going on most of the rides. I say this year is going to be the year and when I am there I chicken out. I wish you could record when you first go on the rides yourself so we can see the reaction. You can do it!
@@thegerm574 this certainly is your best wildwood video yet, can't wait till next years! you've inspired me to up my game when it comes to making my Wildwood videos too.
B Athens thanks B. That swing ride really didn’t make me feel to well but I did it for the video and I’m glad I did because now I have a awesome experience to look back on.
Really enjoy your videos about Wildwood. My family has been going to Wildwood for 6 generations. Keep up the good work. Would have loved to see a POV of the log flume. That was my favorite ride growing up and still is to this day.
I loved the video, I felt like I was there on the rides, but then reality set in and I looked out the window and there’s 3 inches of snow, yuck!! Love Wildwood and the video, can’t wait till next summer! Thanks!!
Used to ride this every year with my kid from the first time he was big enough to go on. He was probably 22 the last time we rode it together, but it was such a tradition for us. So many memories right there. Thanks Flitzer!!!
This was a really cool video I loved that you showed alot of rides made me feel like I was there with you in definitely going this year for my mother's birthday and probably again for my birthday which is in the summer to really enjoy myself thanks for making this video 😊😊 awesome GoPro
Really great video! SO happy you put the Flitzer in this as it was always my fav as a kid. Sad to see it go. Can't wait to ride Run-Away Tram this Summer!! Thanks!
@@thegerm574 It's tragic that the "Tame" rides are being replaced with more "exciting" rides. The same thing was done at Seaside Heights when they replaced the original "Jet Star" which was very similar to the Flitzer with another Jet Star that was destroyed in the hurricane.. I really enjoyed the Flitzer. Many thanks for this great video.
Hey Germ, In 1975 I was finished with Tech School and My wife then and Boy, went to wildwood early May,I applied and was hired for the summer as an Electrician, at ,I think Hunts pier. The family that ran things then was Maragosa, and It was called The Maragosa 5 mile railway, any way I didn't go to work but returned home to Pittsburgh. My life's course would have been totally different had I went to work that morning. Its like a theme park ride in some sense LOL. Thanks for the fun videos.
@@thegerm574 At that time ,the pier rides and Tram cars ie Maragosa 5 mile railway, were owned by Maragosa ,and during the winter He would travel the country with his carnaval. and full time employees.
Looks like all of the rides I rode on as a kid back in the 60'S and 70's are long gone! Still looks like fun, how much is a ticket now a days? More than 10cents each I bet 😂
I've been going to wildwood nj every year with my family since i was a little kid for a week in the middle of august and i always enjoy going to moreys piers and their waterparks ! My favorite ride at moreys piers is definitely the zoom phloom! I also really like the great white, sea serpent, and great nor'easter as well. I also really like the screamin swings on adventure pier! And when it comes to the water parks, my favorite slide would have to be the cliff dive at ocean oasis! I also really enjoy your wildwood vlogs as well!
Thank you for doing this POV of some of the rides. I grew up going to Wildwood every summer and I love the rides. But I can no longer ride most of them. So this is great for me. My stomach even fluttered with the big drop. Lol
@@thegerm574 It was perfect. You have to remember that years from now long after you and I are gone people will be watching and complaining how short it is. Looks like you had a perfect day with your family. Keep on trucking.
Thanks man for doing this.i have been coming to Wildwood since 1979,I just turned 46 and I go every summer it's been a family tradition since I was a little kid. I am going this weekend and hope to enjoy myself because I couldn't go last year or the year before that because my fiance of 20 years passed away. So I'm finally getting the urge to go alone and that's what I'm going to do thank you again so so much..
My family goes every year, now with coronavirus I’m not sure what will happen with the boardwalk and beach this summer. I’m living vicariously through videos like this and hoping we can still take our annual vacation
I sure hope so. I won’t be going this summer but to hope Wildwood opens up for the summer. It’s going to destroy the local economy that depends on a very short season already to make money.
THE GERM i always start at the first peir and make my way to the thirst i don’t know if ppl say 1st 2nd and 3rd peir because i don’t like saying the names basically mariners is second adventure is 3rd and u know what’s first, anyway it would be cool to ride in the day
Loved the video! This is really great footage. I am also afraid to go on most of the rides and by you doing this I get to experience what it would be like going on them. I also love that it's a long video. The longer the better. 👍
My mom took me on Dante’s Dungeon back when it was called “The Wacky House” in 1971 when I was just a year old. Big mistake! I think I was totally traumatized.
My favorite has been the Sea Serpent. But I haven’t tried the Nor’easter yet. It wasn’t open last time I was in Wildwood. We’ll see. I’m going next month!
In this video you mentioned that they had to verify you could use your go pro on each ride. Do you have to speak with someone at guest services to get special permission before using a go pro chest clip that they had to verify?
Great Video! I'm a local songwriter from Cape May/Wildwood area. I was wondering if I could use this video to help promote my original song about the boardwalk on TikTok? I've been looking for some unique clips of the rides. The POV look's fantastic.
Great video. Love Wildwood. Felt like we were there. Surfside Pier is the best one. Great Nor'Easter and Zoom Phloom are our favorites. How do you get permission to use to go pro on rides and which particular model is that?
