This is iconic in Mother Maybelle's voice, and her daughter June did it justice as well. Thanks for the exploration!

Thanks Catfish, you'll never be another Maybelle, but I thoroughly enjoyed your giving a brief history of this lovely old tune. I love history and wish more performers would briefly mention the songs origin if it's as interesting as yours. Thanks again.

One never could be another Maybelle, could one? But, I'm glad my humble offering suits you. Thanks for saying so, @dukapaducha!

Super job/ Keep traditional music styles and lyrics going on. An most importantly, you provide the context of the song with a bit of history. Somehow, when I play, I like you think the context and "story" is as important as the melody and lyrics.

Right on! Glad this struck a chord with you, @clarkdalegreg9640. I'm the kind of guy who likes to see how the sausage is made, so I really like some good context.

GUY CALLAWAY in For a Few Dollars More (1965), José Terrón Peñaranda!!! I think it's the same as the movie!!! Hahaha! Hearing the horse feet running is interesting! Hehehe! Will you teach em to this? Hehehe!!!

Thank you, Jay. I figure, just leave the words alone, and sing it like it is. :D

What’s that name brand of banjo
@catfishfranklin

Tough to say. I believe it's a Kay, but that's about all I could figure out about it. Lately, I've been using my Recording King Dirty Thirties. It's quieter, but I dig the tone a lot.

I love this...better dust off my banjo. You don't use picks?
@catfishfranklin
@catfishfranklin 2 месяца назад
Thanks, @thegreencat9947! Nope, I don't use picks. I play in a pretty standard clawhammer style. Although, I use my trigger finger rather than my middle finger. I just seem to get better attack and tone that way.
