Scottie Pippen recently said in a GQ Magazine interview that his former Chicago Bulls' head coach Phil Jackson's choice for Toni Kukoč to take the final shot in a 1994 playoff game was a quote 'racial move.' Pippen double-downed on Dan Patrick when he was asked if he was calling Jackson a racist. The six-time NBA Finals Champion responded saying quote 'I don't have a problem with that.' Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho react to Pippen's comments towards Jackson.

Pip missed his last 3 consecutive shots and had a couple turnovers. He just wasn't "that guy" under pressure. Honestly I don't blame Phil for going to Kukoc, he made the shot and they won the game. Scottie is just reaching at this point.

I don't see how Jordan or The Last Dance 'betrayed' Pippen. It was honest, and those things were relevant in providing the context for what was going on, but it certainly underlined how great Pippen was as a player and how instrumental he was in that dynasty. If Pippen feels betrayed by the truth, that's not betrayal, that's just shame and bitterness.

@@bizzyb2622 Let's face it he never did, he basically just mentioned that when Scottie chose to sit out over the contract negotiation issue he had that he quit on the team. Let's face it that comment is basically true in my opinion. I don't see it as a diss, but more of a commentary on that situation at the time. What most people don't know is that Pippen was shown The Last Dance by Jordan before it was aired and he didn't have an issue with it. Scottie didn't have an issue with anything until he saw how much attention it got and he wanted some of that attention/money for himself.

Find it hilarious when ppl say jordan never did anything without Pippen. They leave a huge amount of context out. Jordan only played 3 seasons without Pippen as a bull. His first 3 season to be exact. This is too early in Jordan’s career to make such a claim. Had he gone 8-10 years without winning before Pippen arriving, then that statement has real evidence behind it. Ppl also don’t mention that Pippen started 0 games as a rookie. He only avg 8 points, while Jordan went on to have the greatest regular season of all time, helping his team have a higher seed to finally become a favorite in the playoffs. Jordan avg 45 to Pippens 10 in that series, but someone Pippen is the reason bulls won… ppl fail to mention that they lost for 3 years before actually winning… & Pippen never came close to outplaying Jordan in any playoff series… It’s such a flawed argument. Yes you can technically say he didn’t win till Pippen joined the team, but there’s so much context they leave out.

I love Pip...He is underrated as a NBA great. However your statement is factual and spot on. I would also add that Jordan was instrumental in the development of Pippen's Physical stature, emotional fortitude, and skill development. People claim the Last Dance portrayed Pip in a bad light. All that was in there was common knowledge in Chicago. Also what wasn't in there was all the times Jordan protected Pippen in his early years from critics as his and Horace Grant's game matured to the point of being reliable enough to withstand the rigors of NBA playoff competition.

What Scottie's saying is that until he emerged as a legit star, Jordan had no chance of winning championships. Look throughout history, most Championship teams had at least 2 legit All Stars. On this point, I have to agree with Scottie

@@mysterion5136 so how come Pippen couldn’t continue this winning after 98 ? He played on 2 solid teams after leaving the bulls. He played with Barkley & hakim in Houston. They finished as the 3rd best in the nba. Hakim was older but he was good enough to be the 3rd best player on a team. Barkley avg 23 & 14 in the playoffs. All Pippen had to do was be the man like you’re telling me he is, but he avg 18 on 33% & lost in the first round after winning his 6th title. The year after he goes to Portland & has a better squad. Wasn’t the best player in round 2 vs the jazz. Wasn’t the best player in the conference finals vs the lakers. in game 7 Pippen went 3-10. The blazers had a 15 point lead in the 4th. He finished the 4th with zero points & was a minus 17. Where is this Pippen you’re telling me about ?? & don’t tell me anything about his age. He was 33 & 34 for these series. At the age frame jordan had 2 finals mvp, 1 mvp, 2 all nba, 2 all def, 2 scoring titles. Yes the bulls became a lot better once Pippen emerged as a star, but don’t get it twisted MJ was always much better than Pippen. MJ was always the far superior player in every series they played in.

Imagine Giannis refusing to go back into the game with 1.8 seconds left because the Bucks give the gamewinning attempt to Middleton instead. The fact here was that no matter how good Scottie was, he wasn't a great shooter and Kukoc was. Kukoc also had a few inches on Pippen and would have to take an incredibly difficult shot with pressure in his face. And what goes unnoticed by so many is that THE INBOUNDS PASS WAS AS IMPORTANT AS THE SHOT HERE! Phil was trusting his best player to be the only other guy in the stadium to touch the ball on this play besides the shooter.

He said it was a racial move tbr he followed up calling Phil racist he didn't provide any context to that claim other than I was around him referring to what Wiley said about the code and Scottie now breaking it but still not giving context but using acho's context and when he called LeBron and his team of professional colleagues a pose I'd say Pippen might know something we don't as far as Phil goes....I just put all the broken context together..... Considering Phil was in the league when it was much younger and a coach as well he probably has an outdated opinion of how it looks now based off his own comments acho brought up.... Again Scottie didn't lack logic I think he left done room for the book to talk

Dassa lie, MJ was MJ without Scottie. Everyone wanted to be like Mike. He just hadn't won anything yet. Mike made himself AND Scottie. Without Mike I don't think Scottie with have any accolades in the league and if he did, he would be easily forgotten like many other great players from that era.

Phil was "racist" towards Scottie??? Phil loved and catered to MJ. Even Jackson said he loved him, despite him stating he might not choose MJ first to start a team..
