FYI, Wilhelm had been meeting with Theresia for a while before she saved him, and it was revealed to him who she really was when she did. He was angry because she never said anything and only talked about disliking the idea of life as a swordsperson, and so thought she had been mocking him the entire time. But she was just being genuine that she hated being the Master Swordsman.
You know, that "With a face like that" dialogue was refering to her expression of sadness/anguish while using the sword. Theressia hated to be a swordsman, and she originaly wasn't gonna fulfill her "duties" until she meet Willhelm and he taught her that basically you can kill to protect your loved ones. Also, there are reasons behind that. Theresia can't beat someone without using lethal force sadly, so she absolutely hated the role of a sword saint
Just want to point out that the anime doesn't really get a chance to explain Theresia's backstory to give you context for Wilhelm's outburst. You aren't chosen to be the Master Swordsman just because you're good with a sword. A specific person from a specific family (van Astrea) automatically inherits THE specific sword, and that person is the Master Swordsman, no choice about it. Theresia never wanted that kind of life, and Wilhelm, while also being offended that she was looking down on that lifestyle, was pointing out that she shouldn't have to live like that is she hates it so much.
I'm sure somebody has already mentioned this, but just in case because I'm already thinking about it: The title of 'Master Swordsman' is actually a mistranslation. The true title is 'The Sword Saint.'

Then, if 13 of 20 are left, with 2 dead, you'd understand that 5 soldiers disappeared from the world. But~ he also has the kind of personality that would want o save any kid in danger in front of him too. I've been watching Godzilla Resurgence a lot. It was shown in bits and pieces, but instead of saying it's the first meeting of the "master swordsman" Theresia and the "demon swordman" Wilhelm, it's more appropriate to say it's the state in which their bond begins to deepen. With no reason in regards to the two of them meeting at the flower garden, i get a lot of "love at first sight" talks. Well then, thanks for being with me this week too!
