I have a lot of razors some of them very expensive. This razor shaves better than many of my razors that are hundreds of dollars more expensive. It is an excellent razor for those who like a mild razor.

Great shave, and a really good razor. I've had one for about a year now, still works fine, and I bought another one on sale, it was only 3 Euros with the blades. I've seen Paul H using this one on quite a few of his videos, some dating 6 years back. Now I don't know whether it's the same razor.

Hi Mark -- This razor was my first DE razor when I got into traditional wet-shaving about 5 years ago, and is still in my rotation! The fact that it is plastic can be a issue, but the razor has lasted. I found the best way to load & unload a blade when using this razor is to place the razor upside down into the palm of the hand, and then twist the handle. And when tightening the razor to put it back together again, its best to not "King Kong" tighten it, but to snug it up when twisting the handle. Do this, and this razor should last, Take care

Great Shave , and great review. Glad you enjoyed the razor . Wilkinson sword blades are the ones I started with when I began wet shaving . I still use them along with ZAZA and P.A.A Strangelets .

I got a nice shave. A few more passes and touch-ups, but a nice result. I'm not sure how hearty the plastic razor is and how long it will last.

Used this razor the first year of wet shaving (still use it on holidays). Nowadays I use the Gillette slim adjustable with a goat hair brush.

Great review Mark, Although you seemed all at sixes and severns today! I use the wilkinson sword blades very regularly , I find them very reliable and smooth, If a feather blade in a R41 is way to agressive then the wilkinson sword is just about perfect in my opinion. I use the Wilkinson Sword Classic(black version of the razor) with Gillette Blue blades and get irritation on the neck when I go against the grain. I also used BIC Astor blades and got irritation on the neck even when I shaved after more then a month(in that month I trimmed with a beard trimmer). Usually when I shave more then a 3 day beard I get no irritation.

Mike, I got a nice shave. VERY mild razor that requires some additional passes and touchups. But a good result.

I've never tried this razor nor any like it, but cutting the hair just under the nostrils is a little difficult with (my) d.e. safety razors too, and strokes left-right and right-left are the ones which I need for effectively reaching all the hairs just under nostrils.

I’ve tried the Wilkinson blades in one of my Merkur razors before their not bad the worst blade I’ve used so far is Merkur blades they hardly even cut from my experience it’s weird how Merkur makes some of the best razors out there but they’re blades are terrible my go to blades are the Personna made in USA blades and the Feather blades those are the only two brands I use now no doubt there’s a lot of other really good blades out there that I haven’t tried yet that I should try out but so far Personna and Feather have been my favorites.

Nice budget shave today. Ive always thought that razor would be a good starter razor for someone who is just starting out. Now i realize everyone is differant, but i like them blades. I get the saloon packs from india. Now i dont know if what you used are the same or not. And your choice of soap goes without saying how good that is, its PAA lol.

This was my first safety razor and although it gave me a taste of DE shaving and sparked my interest, the shave itself was horrible. The combination of razor and blade was too mild to cut my beard, but sharp enough to cut my face on multiple spots. Anyway, nice video!

The secret is that cheap Wilkinson Classic blades and super expensive Wilkinson Premium Collection blades are the same, only packaged differently. So, you are paying an extra €1,40 for black paper. There is no place in Europe when this blister you are holding is not sold. I've even seen it sold in an agricultural store for shaving dead pigs. Not kidding.

Those blades are so bad. Probably the worst ones I have ever used. Actually Dorco are worse but they are way cheaper.

I've never seen Wilkinson Premium Collection blades. I did a search and their metal razor came up, but withthe same blades.

I got a nice shave. I mean, for 6 bucks, I'd grab this from the store shelf every time if I needed a razor in a pinch. I thought the blades worked well in the razor. Are you saying these blades are different from the regular branded Wilkinson Sword blades? Perhaps the blades are better in mild razors than more aggressive razors?

@@MarkSzorady The Wilkinson Classic blades in a black pack, exactly those you used. I got them for free with Wilkinson CLassic DE razor and they almost pushed me away from this hobby. I have used a few brands and these are the worst. Dorco were also bad but at least they are cheap. The rest from what I have used are great. Gilette yellow and blue, Muehle, Feather, Derby Premium and Astra.
