My Beagle tore up all the curtains in my home....the 2nd time I left him in his cage....he rattled the cage so it tilted towards my bed....He pulled the Entire Bed sheets into his now tilted cage and ripped it up and grabbed some jeans from the bed as well...All from the INSIDE of his cage! The worst part is He does NOT like any kind of toy be it a chew toy or even an immitation Rabbit (He loves chasing Rabbits but I guess he knows this one is fake)
I personally believe it's all depending on the beagle. I've had two beagles previously that did not do destructive behavior. but the one I have now is very much that way I think it's a possibility based on their breed but not all dogs end up being destructive like that.
My beagle is almost 10 years old and has never destroyed anything when left alone. He has separation anxiety and will actually go to sleep for the most part until I get home
My beagle never destroyed anything they only thing she did and still dose is sit and cry by the door unill we get home she has really bad separation anxiety
My adopted 6 year old beagle hates being left alone but doesn't destroy the house. He often starts chewing on pillows and blankets and socks and gloves but only to get attention when I am home. I do get BarkBox but he destroys the plush toys so had to get super chewer and he doesn't like those toys as much
Yes beagles are outdoor dogs I have had them for 40 years for hunting I occasionally bring one inside and he behaves as long as I am there but when I leave the house put them in a dog crate to be safe
