I feel bad for Kayla, there putting loads of blame on her when Kayden is working her up and he gets of for free. Like there like "Kayden will only be on calm down while Kayla is on time out". There acting like she's a crimanal and when Kayden mishbehaves there like "Awwww he's so cute, i'm sure he'll behave soon" but if she did the same thing it's straight to time out. Like you gotta make the punishment fit the crime. If your gonna put her on time out and she was wound up put Kayden on time out. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
aint that what happens in adult world as well? females are always set up on a higher standard than males, and are expected to act proper all the time, there's no space for making mistakes, while men are left alone with the good ol' "men will be men" bs. I'm sure it probably wasn't even their intention to act biased with kids, but these kids will internalise this pattern of behaviour. Adults really need to be more mindful around kids and take care of their microagressions.
i think the people deciding the arguments were thinking that 'the punishment should fit the crime' meant that they should cater the punishment to why the kid was misbehaving. like the boy was aggressive so needed to 'cool down' but the girl didnt? idk just a guess
Yeah, When little boys act up it's "normal" behavior but when it's a little girl doing it they get told very quickly to not act like that. It's not like that in every household, but I have seen it happen so much.
i just looked up what happened to kaidens family and apparently ashley was abusive and that lead to kaiden and his sister being taken away from her. Ashley also apparently passed away.
As a kid, I thought Supernanny was a show about naughty children As a (near) adult, I realise that Supernanny is a show about bad parents sorting themselves out and the kids benefitting as a result
The craziest thing about Supernanny is that 9/10 times, the parents are like "Not only do I have zero parenting skills, I also can't cook, clean, organize, communicate properly, or be responsible for literally anything :)". Meanwhile, they have 3-6 kids and one of them is shoving a fork in an electrical outlet in the background. Like, why tf do you have any children-- yet alone multiple-- when you can't even take care of yourself?? I always wonder if these families know that condoms and birth control exist lmao.
Not to mention that most of them never actually discipline their kids, and are then surprised when they get so out of control. Like lady, you have a toddler, they're not really going to understand a 'hey don't do that,' you gotta show them that their actions have consequences if you want them to behave.
It's because these kinds of people (by which I mean middle America, low to middle class, very religious) have been programmed into thinking that getting married and popping out children is the only purpose for their existence. It doesn't matter if they're prepared to take on the challenge or not, because God told them they're supposed to get married, have lots of children, and find jobs to keep the children alive, and they're committed to doing it no matter what.
James you have restored my faith in todays young people (I am 80). You approached most of the kid situations with both intelligence and humour. I raised my kids with love and discipline and I proud of the men they are today. I was horrified with what they let some of those little monsters do, and the ineffective way some parents raise their kids. No wonder the world is going to hell in a handbasket.
@@elysianbutterfly392 His name is James but he's been referred to as Jim a lot recently. Jim is a normal nickname for the name James as far as I'm aware. I assume he's been referred to as Jim because "Will and Jim" has a better ring to it than "Will and James", since the former has an i in both names and they are both quickly pronounced instead of one being quick (Will) and the other slow (James).
the amount of dads that are like that second dad is insane. most of my friends growing up had dads like that and i was always afraid of them when i went over to their houses
@@conormulligan7966 How is "what's a bank teller" a joke, with that logic you could put, what is, in front of anything. What is an airplane haha fuuuunnny.
i remember being in rimeout as a kid. basically, it pulls you away from what you want and angers you or upsests you. the goal is for you as the kid to say hey, i dont like this, i would be doing what i like if i hadnt done that thing. although my timeouts were normally because i would not be quiet at night and annoy my sibling. unlike these young ones i actually stayed put. btw, kaiden's intro where he just spit had me luaghing for some reason.
Post Episode : Kaiden was diagnosed with ADHD. Ashley was investigated by CPS and lost custody of Kayla and Kaiden after her mother discovered the abuse. In a RU-vid comment, Kaiden revealed that Ashley was arrested. Although he did not give a reason for her arrest, most speculate that the arrest was related to drugs. Ashley died on May 7, 2022, at age 38. Her cause of death was a drug OD. Kaiden revealed in a RU-vid comment that she went into septic shock and was told to quit doing drugs. She didn't stop despite medical advice and died from a terminal illness.
James, sarcastically: “Religious people struggling with the concept of change? No…” Congratulations. You just pissed off every religious person on the planet.
This time on will and James, will states that children should be put in shelters like dogs and James overall just says they should be put down. How nice 🙂🤩😃
probably not the best place to talk about this, but it's shows like this that genuinely upset me. some of these kids need genuine psychological and psychiatric testing and the parents could benefit from skills of learning how to deal with neurodivergent kids. i don't want to make any assumptions, but i see a lot of myself in these children. i was a child from hell. my mom had a hard time dealing with me, my dad was hardly ever home, and i acted like this when was a lot younger. my dad never wanted to admit there was anything wrong with his child, and now, eighteen years later, i've been diagnosed with autism and adhd. defiance is usually because a child's needs aren't getting met, especially if they are not neurotypical. why would you choose to exploit your kids who need help like this instead of taking them to a doctor to get tested? it would make a world of a difference.
There are some episodes in which Jo recommends psychiatric help. But it still does not excuse using them for ratings. At the same time, it does bring awareness to those issues in children. It's a double edged sword.
The sad thing is, while neurological conditions can be caused by genetics, for a lot of these kids, I don’t actually think there is an issue, I think the lack of discipline and/or the emotional neglect these kids endure can really affect their brain and cause these kids serious issues down the line.
@@piratesswoop725 I was always put in 3+ hour timeouts and given silent treatments as a child (2-11) for outbursts caused by a neurological disease, and I now have attachment issues and a difficulty trusting people caused by those timeouts. There is definitely side effects of bad parenting, and I'll have to deal with that for my whole life.
Every time I see the Supernanny episodes it makes me think about how if some of these kids got kidnapped, they'd be thrown out almost immediately because the kidnappers just wouldn't be able to fucking deal with it. The parents can barely deal with them and probably only do because as parents they have some sort of bond/love for the lil demon. Kidnappers won't lmao
I did a little research and found out Ashley is now dead and may have died of a drug overdose and Kaiden lives with his grandma and Kayla is married, also Kaiden came out and said Ashley was abusive and hit them and would use makeup to hide the bruises, very happy their doing better now..😭
Developmental psych says a proper and effective time out for children is as many minutes as they are years old, and to put them in a corner or designated place where they can still see other people interacting properly
