As much as the media focus on Nunez, Liverpool should start looking to replace Jota. As lethal as he is when fit, it’s becoming increasingly obvious that he has persistent match fitness issues. One of the reasons why it’s hard for me to take ESPN FC’s constant criticism of Ronaldo too seriously is they fail to acknowledge that his potential successors (Jota & Ramos) both frequently struggle with match fitness issues while Ronaldo is literally always available. I know the focus is on Salah, Van Dijk, and Trent’s contracts but Jota’s persistent match fitness issues going back years are becoming a real problem.
Issue is he's a very decent finisher and currently the best at the club. Yes I agree he has got persistent injury issues for us. But Nunez's finishing is poor and our alternative to both of them would be Salah up front, which world be awkward for him. In the summer you can argue we could replace him with Openda. Cos he's looked excellent over the past couple of years.
@razaaahmad03 I agree with your assessment. I too like Jota and he’s definitely a much more ruthless finisher than Nunez. But he reminds me of an NFL Pro Bowl level player who never actually gets official Pro Bowl recognition because he’s injured far too often. It’s a shame too because I really like Jota and he offers a lot. But his injury problems are becoming far too frequent. That’s why I couldn’t take people who blindly back Nunez over Jota too seriously. I told those types of people that Nunez would get his chance before too long because Jota inevitably gets hurt. And sure enough it happened.
Agree. Jota is good but he will do better on a slower league and this will allow Nunez to start 20 plus games a season. He will become that mean Benfica striker we bought.
@@robertphillips791 Jota and Nunez actually work very well playing together. With both of them interchanging but Nunez the one primarily playing through the middle. The issue with that is Slot prefers either Díaz or Gakpo on the left and either Jota or Nunez through the middle. Both Jota and Nunez offer a lot and I think both are well suited for specific match ups. But the issue with Nunez is always going to be his finishing. He’s so easy to root for with his effort, work rate, determination, and selflessness. But his finishing really needs to sharpen up. I’m rooting for him but he needs to deliver even more this year.
Liverpool do not have 2players as well Alisson and jota,so stop moaning!Liverpool never had a full fit squad previous season still they didn't moan like u guys
8 people? Key players out is Odegaard and saka who could play and saliba is suspended. Meanwhile liverpool have Allison and jota injured key players. @@ryanroche3141
@@andrewwright4195 bro for arsenal, white, calafiori, timber, saliba, Odegaard, saka are missing. That's like Liverpool missing trent, van dijk, konate, Mac allister, Robertson and salah
Craig Burley saying he’s not convinced by Liverpool but he’s happy to talk up an Arsenal team that have done NOTHING ever since he started fawning over them, I must’ve missed all the trophies this Arsenal team have won under Mikel Arteta. Must’ve missed all those open top bus parades 🙃🤪
@@andrewwright4195 we lost because of a red card. Yes Forrest are 5th so they are good but arsenal are 3rd so guess what? You are losing tomorrow again
@@topdawgtv6656 what games has it won them? They drew with City twice doing it and they went out the CL too. So genuinely...which games they won playing that tactic?
@@kier1568 Erm yes clearly why are you upset about that? I didn't watch community shield true i never do as like a lot of people i find it to be like a boring friendly. I do know they didn't play the same tactics against all the top 6 last season either. So you didn't answer the question i put to someone else you just got a stick up your backside because of some weird reason. So either tell me what games they won playing the park the bus tactic or stop trying to defend a point i didn't bring up as they didn't win anything.
Anyone who thinks that missing Saliba, Saka, Odegaard, Califiori, and possibly Timber will not adversely affect any starting 11 is totally DELUDED. That said, we can still manufacture a victory with what we have. It would be quite the statement. COYG!
Any team who thinks that the absence of KDB , Doku , Grealish , Walker , Rodri ,… won’t influence City is equally deluded . But with Arsenal it’s always the same … excuses , drama and lots of blablabla. United last year and half if their squad injured . Even ten Hag complained less than Arsenal fans . The bottling has started early this year . And it’s Saliba’s stupidity that causes him to be unavailable.
BTW I'm a Man City fan. Normally I'd agree that you can't make injury an excuse, its just that ATM AFC have like 7 or 8 players out and Saliba suspended. AFC team is built upon Saliba IMO.. So not an excuse but it will affect the result IMO and negatively towards AFC IMO?
Craig, you and I need to talk. I took Saka out of my team and now you're saying he trained. Who do you know, I feel like you could really help me out in my mini league.
Craig is a sensible guy. While it’s unfortunate how arsenal dropped points, we’re pretty organized team and it’s huge mistake for Liverpool to overlook that. Having said that, I’ll take a draw.
Injuries shouldn't be an excuse for Arsenal they are meant to be the only challengers to Man city pundits and rival fans didnt even think Liverpool would get in the top 4 so injuries no injuries Arsenal should be Favourites
If you think Liverpool will win this game you are ahead of yourself. The counter attack chances Liverpool gives up those are the chances Arsenal will take. That’s how Arteta trained them.
You're still thinking of how Liverpool played under Klopp, they don't play like that anymore. Under Slot they play a lot more like Man City or Barcelona, it's a lot more possession based. The old heavy metal football with "counter attacking chances" is gone.
Slot was always set up to fail by owners this summer, I know it’s easy for people now to say he already came to a great team but anytime the result goes the other way everyone will attack him..Milan away, Leipzig away ( joint top in bundesliga ) , palace away, utd away are not given as media is pretending to make.. our defense has been on top level but we need to up our game attacking as a team .. I hope we do that on Sunday .. Craig saying he isnt convinced yet in a run when we are winning 11 out of 12 games so imagine what level of criticism slot will face with a bad run of games
Normally as is, even if Arsenal has no injury, this Liverpool will smash Arsenal at the Emirates. But with Harold Web in charge City will play in that match and force a draw. They know how they usually cheat Liverpool. They'll issue like 2 red cards to frustrate that game or disallow 2 clean goals knowing that it can't be reversed. They'll tender apology and that's all. What a shame of a league
Stop with the Injuries Arsenal fans were all over the internet this summer "Our bench is fixed" BLA BLA BLA Real Madrid last season had how many injuries and how many trophies again? At this point Arsenal should get used to playing with even 10 men anyways
Excuses Excuses Excuses.. you're giving these Victim mentality Arsenal fans the preemptive excuses to mitigate for their inevitable whupping coming their way .. I mean they were already using injuries as excuses so...
Acknowledging Arsenal's injuries is just being honest. You might not like it but it's a reality that you'll be playing their B team. Better hope you don't lose😂
Looooool pool fans & klopp clearly point out to their injures for their collapse last season......Arteta on the other hand said they should get on with it no excuses
Craig is a pipe dreamer. The best result Arsenal can get out of this is a draw, by parking the bus and try hitting on the counter. If they try to play toe to toe they will lose.
Harping about Arsenal injuries again?? Liv has just as many injuries in Elliot, Jota, Alisson, Chiesa, Bradley!! Just as many as Arsenal…. Everyone making excuses for the loss…. 2-0 or 1-0 win for Liverpool even if Arsenal at its strongest.
