If you thought that was embarrassing, I'm embarrassed for you. Did you listen to the substance of what he was saying. His grasp of geo-politics and foreign policy was evident. We're facing a loss of our democracy. He is the best chance we have to beat Trump.

At times, he seems to show signs of megalomania when he says that only he is quallified to beat Trump and only God can make him step down by coming down and tell him to!

The only difference between now and before the debate is that their sense of self-importance has been thwarted by the removal of the mask of deniability which Biden committed at the debate. That's why they're so hellbent on getting him out of the campaign: he dared to show the world just how old he in fact was, refusing to play this game of pretending to be something the entire world knows and has always known. The media are clutching their pearls and trying to deny the will of the Democratic Party voter base because their sense of their viability has been wounded. The debate was less a haunting reveal of Biden's age than of a haunting reveal of the media's gaslighting campaign *about* his age that, after the debate, they could no longer uphold. Has anyone in the media apologized for the gaslighting? Of course not: they're too busy pretending that all of sudden Biden's age has been made apparent. But it's always been apparent. What's apparent now that wasn't before is the extent to which the media was willing to gaslight voters about Biden's age and now willing to completely disregard their will about the candidate they have already chosen knowing full well who they were voting for, which was the man we all saw at the debate. The voters have always known how old and ineffectual and compromised he is. Nothing has changed for them.

Comparing the president from early this year to now, I would have to say he had a serious health event, and almost nobody could complain about him getting behind Harris. The fact is, even if he did come out with a great proformance, his age is still the first topic onnindependent minds. This is not good for the election.

The threat is very severe and Biden actually is the best option to beat Trump at this stage. Harris would be the only other option. No one else would have access to the war chest and a brokered convention always ends in disaster. It's amazing how many people commenting have no idea how elections work in America.

My family has a family history of medical issues, most of which are one time events that either kill or debilitate. If a stroke or similar happens, I would hand off operation of our family business, or my family would remove me. We have done so before. Staying in when you are not at top form, when your job is caring for a small business, is one thing. Being the person who truly could get that mythical "3 AM phone call" saying Americans died is even beyond that.

Biden has always been a legend in his own mind since he announced he was going to be president one day in 1973. His elevator hasn't gone all the way to the top since his two brain aneurysm operations in 1987.
