Try building them nest boxes. Let them breed lay eggs, but swap the eggs out for plastic eggs when pigeons have more motivation to come home you may be more successful in racing. Try it. See if you have better results.
Get the injured bird very close stitches ,either yourself or from a vet . Apply a thick layer ofantibiotic cream on stitches to avoid leakage. Give no food and water for 5-6 hours at least
Hey mate I know it's hard but just like people birds need time to develop. Fanciers try to rush things breed quickly and send them out. Think things through. Your most successful birds at home have all come from birds you cast aside. My advice is be your birds. You talk about characters so use that to your advantage.
Last year also had one injured bird on the crop. It needed stitches and is still flying, stitches - small seeds and antibiotics for 5 days... I would consider moving, 3 kids, dry and hot, and the lovely perigean...🤔
maybe try a day off food, plenty water with apple cider vinegar. Then next day feed them some oregano paste and cinnamon probably have to force into mouth individually, or mix a load onto a small light feed. All really good natural products for pigeon digestion, medication usually fixes symptoms not causes and need to support pigeons gut biome. Hoping maybe this helps, wish them a quick recovery bud
