I know a guy who started a company selling this bacterial pesticide/fertilizer called EM. It is made only from bacteria. Supposedly they are certain types of bacteria that have hundreds of uses. My dad drinks it to support his gut biome, I have used it as a cleaner and stain remover, and the farmers that buy it use it to give their crops nutrients and protect them from pests. I know that he sells to a lot of marijuana growers because it is only bacteria and cannot harm the consumer. There are no chemicals in it to combust. Seems like a pretty quick fix to this problem.

It cost so much money in Connecticut to get a permits to grow marijuana. Even you have the money to afford to get a permits and they only allowed 10 to 15 companies to be awarded and if you're not awarded you'll lose your money and it's not refundable. What a great state to do business in Connecticut. Yeah right!

Joseph no I buy lab tested weed that my dealer sells to the club. But I get it at club wholesale prices because he don't sell it all. Plus any learned marijuana smoker will taste chemicals used improperly. I think well be safe with the street dealers I mean we have for generations

Pura vida!, I am not so sure about that, sure, some pot might be imported from Cali and states were it's legal, but most marijuana you buy on the streets of CR was grown here or in neighbouring countries. And let's be honest, the government here is not so strict about marijuana use, even if they don't want to legalize it (thanks to the over-conservative Catholics in this country), and we have LOTS of fertile land that can easily be used for marijuana growth. If you talk to the REAL growers, this is scaring them a lot.. big business is flooding in. Many states are going rec and overtaxing cannabis, also making the licenses tens of thousands of dollars (in michigan the smallest grow license requires 150k in the bank and your possessions, that also started this year too in rec). You will see these small growers in michigan and california move from medical legal market, into black market and thrive because they can offer far better weed than the corporate rich people (i worked for many in Denver last year).. corporate taxed weed is 200 to 400 in Vegas as much as any illegal state has grown for years. This over tax, and over cost licenses will GROW the black market again. This is going to be a huge issue, expect Trump to say something regarding this billion dollar market, he is losing out on 100s of millions in easy tax revenue that is already going on behind his back every hour of the day. Wake up folks, you cant make this medicinal plant go away, its here and its here for good. we need to regulate tax and license costs, or black market scary tainted weed will outsell the overpriced expensive corporate weed.
What sucks is a lot of mom and pop stores are going to get boned for now. But the tide will be in favor of the little guy once more after a short period. There's really no way you can grow top shelf bud on a massive production scale. Think of fine wines and other upscale things. It's better because more time and effort is put into it. It isn't mass produced shit with no quality control. Not only that but private breeders control the genetics which also gives them an advantage. No one is going to want to smoke seeded ditch weed that was sprayed with god only knows what. It'll taste terrible and it'll have a low THC content. Cannabis smokers care more about their weed and how it was grown than a health nut about their food. That should tell you something. The problem is the regulations bone the little guy because it's too costly whilst the large corp skates on by. That needs to be fixed and quick. Regulations is why small business owners get owned. After all there's a market for organic produce, which is grown by people in the private sector and they're doing fine.

yes, if you live in apartment you need landlord permission, you can not grow in public land, if you rent a house and doing it outdoor you have to make sure your land lord and neighbor are ok with the smell. its not easy. lol
VICE, I am a single 33 y/o woman who has had painful chronic illnesses since childhood, and developed debilitating pain & terminal heart failure in the last 5 yrs. I am trapped in a toxic MI HUD apt, with the cold climate causing nightly seizures, and my health problems are all together terminal. I had to start on medical cannabis when Rx drugs shut down my kidneys at age 27. Ive been fighting for years to keep up with only having a $400/month budget, after buying the cheapest & least amount of MMJ I need to function & stay out of hospital. My power bill is behind $200, will be shut off next month if I cant come up with it quickly. I spend nearly every hour I can trying to sell everything I own, and I am now at the end of my rope, physically, mentally, and financially. With no family support, no chance at the lifesaving freedom of a vehicle, I have daily anxiety attacks & frequently mental breakdowns, feeling like this is literally hell. My symptoms are hellish & almost constant, and the time bomb in my chest will go off any day, I am desperate to get to a legal state, preferably one that respects the right to die with dignity, and doesnt blatantly ignore DNR forms repeatedly!! ⏳⏳⏳💔💔💔😳😳😳

Look into the peaceful pill or into nembutal (hope I spelt that right) You can look up how to make the drug at home and scientist are the ones who shared how to make it in the first place. but you can also go to sanctioned suicide sites which have everything from young 20 year olds just done with trying to elderly or chronic patients that just want to pass in their sleep. No one looks down on you we just wish eachother luck and if they back out we never take it personally. we do get the random spammer talking some motivation piece we have all heard before too many times but we just ignore them.

80% contaminated with pesticides? That's absolutely infuriating. Heath should always trump wealth. Respect the plant, respect the medicine, and respect the patients. If you know any grower or company that even has one test back contaminated with pesticides then cut them off. That is unforgivable. There are growers out here with our immaculate, intergraded pest management systems. Choose your suppliers wisely.
A lot of these contamination stats are overblown. We're talking small trace amounts that could have even came from the mother plant systemically. Go grab something at the supermarket in the produce department and it would easily fail when held to the same testing standard that cannabis is held to. Harbourside just had a bunch of product fail because the city water that they were using caused a positive.
I'm 28 and I love capitalism. I get it everyday, but I don't let it get in the way of my morals. If any pest get through my integrated pest management system then I'm trashing the plant(s). It goes against everything I love to cultivate tainted cannabis to be used by patents that I've promised to help. There is no amount of revenue that will change that.

Exactly, it's geared for tourism. Look at what happened in Nevada. They ran out of weed, 90% of the sales were to tourists. I don't love the tax, but I don't hate it. At least you can buy it. If it bother's a resident that much, grow it, it's legal, easy and you can sell the byproducts like the stalks and leaves to people who make clothes.
It's pushing everything back to the black market. Good news is those prices will go back up due to the legal market being so high priced, bad news is tax revenue goes back towards enforcement so it will be interesting to see how hard black market cannabis gets cracked down on.
What makes you think legalization or the high tax will push it to the black market. The black market will always be there because outside the legalized states (medicinal/recreational/both). Potent cannabis is at a premium. A black market for alcohol has been in effect since the end of Prohibition... Tens of millions are made from illegal Moonshine...
We can sell cigarettes with a plethora of chemicals and purchase Monsanto grown GMO vegetables that are treated with a shit ton of pesticides but God forbid weed with pesticides.
Humboldt county should have been appointed to bring in the legalized and medical rules in California. Every person on that comity should have been from Humboldt. A community like that that has years and years of experience with this crop, from everything you could possibly think of. They should be running it, and shit should be fully organic obviously.

4 years later the price for a pound of marijuana has gone from $2,500 to $300 in the county of Humboldt. About 30% of local businesses have closed their doors due to covid and no more economic booms from the black market. It's literally a nightmare the job that I've relied upon for 17 years does not pay enough for me to make rent. The job that I've spent 17 years mastering is offering me minimum wage at best to perform.
I can help a little bit (SILICA) treated plants tend to be more resilient to bugs and mold & Do not like higher (alkaline) which means a higher PH.... ALSO... STRAIN... is very important. If you have a moldy strain.... well.. hmmmm ditch it and get something that is more resilient then again it could be your environment... Good luck everyone.
The problem with growing a 25-ft tall plant is you need a damn machine to harvest it. Not to mention the massive amount of trim, stems and branches left behind. Since they passed the recreational law a lot more people here in California are going to the black market because the prices are lower now that the dispensaries have jacked up everything, and you don't have to wait in ridiculous lines to get your bud. It is an interesting experiment if you ask me.
... since when do you use machines to harvest weed I use a ladder and plant cutters... this guy. also since when is trim, stems and petioles a problem? there's such thing as pruning your plant its not like it grows 25 feet in 5 months...

I don't think anyone is that naive to kill a $18B a year business that is also paying taxes from that. It would be a mistake at this point. Also, it should 1/2 the amount smuggled from Mexico. It is also good for Wall Street as Investors are all over this.
If your watching Canadian news and have any advice you can give a guy who would like to grow in his basement and sell to dispensaries or other markets that will be open to us like online sales unlike you guys we wont have to deal with the feds so we will have more options but any advise will be greatly appreciated.

I even had people offer me 1200 for indoor that was grown all the way to amber heads on my last harvest. Absolutely soul crushing as there is no new industries popping up to replace this market 😕

But in Colorado I’m not going to get over 14 it’s so sad honestly.. but with the new bill trump just signed into law everything is going to change... people aren’t allowed to have over 8 plants at one property unless you have a commercial license. So no more 99 plant counts and being caretakers for other patients.... so the price is going to go back up.. but that basically drives it back underground in terms of selling it. Bout to be enforceable mandatory minimums for cultivating cannabis like it was in the 70’s & 80’s ..... witch is both a good thing and a terrible thing at the same time

Hopefully you’re right and wrong, I hate to see the danger aspect of all this coming back to the industry, but you’re right, only [negative] changes to the law will bring [positive] changes to the price at this point. Last month I had to sell off my 20k flower room and 8k veg because I couldn’t rationalize all the work I was doing just for a small profit. I used to be more ambitious until I had $50k cash seized in Iowa about 6 years ago on i80. Maybe I just got too old for game anymore. I should have gone for it (started a dispensary) when the scene blew up here in 08/09, but I decided to wait until all the expensive regulation and permits made it nearly impossible to start my own legit business. This is just not a good industry for the meek or one without deep pockets. I hope things continue to get better for you friend. I was running one plant per 1k light at the end scrogged out. I hope you can do something similar and avoid the heat.
Epic Screen name in 2013 I had a similar event happen in los angles I took a 36k loss in the time it took to run a red light. Life changing events honestly. Because the "bad bugs" can still get into the grow room in the house, but the "good bugs" don't seem to make their way indoors. I grow outdoors for the simple fact that the predator bugs do their best outdoors, killing all of those "bad bugs" for me. Works for me, no pesticides and all organic.
