Do you have a Denon or Marantz that you are afraid that it will overheat with the right conditions? Or maybe a receiver from another brand that does so? What did you do to correct the situation? If anything? Thanks for watching and thanks for subscribing if you so choose!

I have the 3800. With a basxa2 for 2 extra channels.(use for 2 of the atmos heights) Run all in a 7.4.4 system.. use daily in rack.. no real heat. Used daily for over a year now..zero issues. I'm part of lots of forums for this model. Never heard of overheating issues on this model. Use and enjoy.

I drove all 7.x.4 Klipsch RP (crossover at 60hz for LCR and 80hz for the rest) with the X6700H being cooled by an AC Infinity AIRCOM for over two years. The X6700H stayed cool to the touch with no overheating issues. It will overheat if driven hard without the AC Infinity AIRCOM.

Anecdotes about how hot Denons run are what have stopped me from getting one of them. Living in a hot climate I don't need any extra heat being pumped into my room. People say buy an aircom cooler but that just blows the heat into the room regardless

The volume/power is the biggest factor then cooling. Either dont push it above 80 or get yourself a good AC/fan to cool the room or blow air on the AVR. That said, the speakers, speaker wire, ambient temp, ventilation, quality of the components, how much dust is in the AVR and even how your power is from the wall can affect internal temps. A simple small fan blowing fresh air on the AVR vents may help alot in hot environments short term but if your room is in the 90s all the time, good luck to you. External amps will alleviate the issue of the AVR overheating but then you get the wrong or insufficient amps, the amps overheat too. Also external amps will probably dump even more hot air into your room. So back to how good your cooling is. Or just dont turn it up too much.

I always put a fan on mine just to help. It probably didn’t need it but anything that gets warm to the touch makes me nervous. When I switched it to pre-amp mode and used external amps I removed the fan because it ran so much cooler.

Mine overheated and shut off many times til I got fans for it but by then I didn’t feel comfortable with the amount I was pushing out. Top Gun 2 killed my system by how hard I was pushing my speakers so I ended up getting separates and now no issues

I have the X3600H and using it as a Pre/Pro and still gets a little warm. I do have cooling fans on top of the AVR and Power Amps and that helps a lot because and the temp/speed never goes higher than 50%. My cooling fans run about 25% capacity most of the time.

Get an infinity A/C. Fan and put on top off it. You probably can't use it with 9 channels of 4 ohm speakers. I bought all Emotiva BasX amplifiers 4 x BasX A3 do that and run in preamp and you will be fine 😊

No problems with mine. I’m running the 5 base channels through an amplifier and only the heights through the receiver itself. I changed my back surrounds to back heights.

Get a Yamaha, you wont ever have an over heating issue. I've had Denon & Marantz and they all had the issue with over heating when driving speakers using all internal amps. It sucks to have to wait until they cool down to finish watching a movie. Yamaha is better than both, they just get a bad rap because of their room correction. Just use magic beans and the Yamaha beats them all..
