And most Gwen Stacy’s are not spiderwomen. Phil lord did say there will be multiple gwen Stacy in BTSV and one will redeem/change the relationship between Gwen and miles. Earth-8 gwen would be perfect to do that based on the history she has with him in his world.

This sentence kind of reminded me of Avengers Infinity War, where Dr. Strange shows with his finger, that this is the one time.

Both Arguments are as followed E-8 in BTSV shouldn’t happen: It could be forced and they might try to force a relationship instead of it being raw and realistic. E-8 in BTSV should happen: It could show Gwen that a relationship with Miles is possible and get actual confirmation from other spider’s experience.

THANK YOU 😭 this is all of my thoughts written down fr like you put it perfectly. I’m just guessing ppl watch these movies expecting perfect Disney princess characters since it’s animated. Yes the point of being a spider-person is making mistakes-and literally the first five minutes is Gwen being regretful 😭 the movie yells at them and they still misunderstand

The hate Gwen is getting not in warranted and I think it’s on purpose. The writer wrote it like this cause it’s a 2 part movie, so that the next movie Gwen can make it up to miles. But also she is a liar she said to miles that she couldn’t meet him cause she was busy then she said the spider society was small and that it’s all the top spiders that are in there when in fact it’s everyone. And ofc you’re supposed to dislike Gwen we are following miles so we can kinda feel his emotions and take onto ourselves as well. She can say she didn’t want to do this and that but actions always speak louder then words, but honestly I don’t blame her fully for her actions when she has a mentor like Miguel and Jessica that tells her to run away from her problems and then threatens her. So Gwen being hated on and dislike was on purpose cause she had band mentors so then at the end of the movie she saw that she needed to be her own kind of spider person and not just follow the others and so that Gwen could make it up to miles so that when they do their bond is even stronger

Another factor that people need to consider: Gwen accepted Miguel's "canon events" theory, which meant she believed Miles' dad had to die to keep Miles' universe from collapsing. (She believed this about her own Dad as well.) She also believed that Miles was (through no fault of his own) an anomaly that could possibly destabilize the entire Spider-verse. That the Spider Society was formed to repair the damage that Miles' "interference" in the canon caused. Based on those assumptions, everything she did was to *protect* Miles. To keep him, his mom, and his universe alive. How do you tell the person you love. "I'm sorry, but you weren't supposed to be Spider-Man. You got bit by a spider meant for someone else in another universe. So you can't leave here. Oh, and btw, your dad has to die or your universe will collapse." People need to understand, Gwen doesn't have any hope at the beginning of this movie. The reality that Miguel paints is very grim for all Spiders and those close to them. She thinks there is nothing she can do to truly protect the people she loves. That if she tries, then the entire universe will come crashing down on her and *everyone* dies. So yeah. She's going to tell Miles little white lies to spare his feelings from the horrible truth and at least keep him safe, even if that means she can't be with him. It's only when she has a moment of weakness and goes against orders to see him again that Miles begins to rekindle her hope that their fates might not be written in stone. That maybe there's a chance that in at least one universe, a Spidey/Gwen love story doesn't have to end in sorrow. And by the end of the movie, she sees what Miles can do, how good he is, how willing and able he is to fight for those he loves, how he truly embodies what it means to be Spider-Man... and hope finally breaks through. "Miles taught me that anything is possible. He loves you more than you can know. I've seen it." She's no longer just going to accept her fate. She's going to fight.

Those people are telling on themselves. It’s a very easy thing to do on the internet especially if one isn’t careful. What I mean is that a lot of times we see a reflection of ourselves or pieces of our own lives in the content and entertainment we consume and so those people’s disdain towards Gwen’s character and her choices in this movie is often a reflection of something an individual may have experienced in their own life. They are projecting. Someone cheated on them, broke their heart, a friend back stabbed them, a sibling betrayed them etc. and they are unable to deal with or process this in reality so they see the character making a mistake against someone who they attach to and project their own personal feelings towards the narrative of the story. Happens all the time I just feel sorry for those people.

THIS!!! He knew about her losing Peter, not “doing friends” since he died, and he’s very aware of her emotional state. He does after all say in the second movie that he’s emotionally mature and intelligent for his age. He most definitely wanted to take it slow using the friend thing and just have something to start off yet. It’s extremely obvious that those two weren’t thinking about being just friends. In Gwen’s intro in the second movie, she falls into the collider and is seen puckering her lips all the way. That’s literally seconds after miles asked her to be friends and she says “see you around spiderman” and they share an affectionate smile. Even before her puckering her lips, miles is seen watching her the whole time with an interesting smile. Its clear he was into her. And in the first film when she falls in, he sighs kind of, then looks to Peter. And it’s one of those sighs that people make when they’ve got the hots for someone, if I make any sense.

I do think Gwen sensed miles because I think it’s because the day she sensed him, that was also the day the spider came to his world. Btw like the parallel of Gwen sensing him in his own world in the first movie and than sensing him from another universe in the second. Serious connection.

Mate great comment. Especially with the photo. I feel like that photo at the time is to feel his presence around her because that was the only thing she had close to him. I think as well it just gives her motivation to continue being Spider-Man for one day seeing miles again. In BTSV it’s just about how they write it. If it goes the way we all want it to go. Miles and Gwen will be the best CBM couple ever and cap of the greatest superhero trilogy of all time.

"in every other universe, gwen stacy falls for spider-man..." but our gwen IS spider-man. so if we subscribe to the canon theory and believe that part of spider-man's canon is a first love's death and a second love's triumph, then her "gwen" is peter and her "mj" is miles. gwen is miles' first love though, but in his own words, hes gonna do his own thing!

IMO because even in 2023 some people still don't understand how character development works - either you're a strong protagonist with no flaws or problems who's perfect throughout the story and always makes the right choices, or a villain who does the opposite.

Facts like her imagining kissing him before falling in the collider and having them to almost kiss in ATSV just gives us more evidence that these two will get together. I’m glad I’m not the only one, but what if the reason why the writers made Peter B show the photos of mayday not only indicating they will end up together but also showing their future.

But I think miles helping his alternative self to become spider man in earth-42 will make Peter proud and happy because it’s going to make him look back on what it was like teaching miles to be Spider-Man. Mate spot on. I like to think miles had a crush on Gwen and from the first time they met with Gwen developing feelings for miles. Minority of people are saying that they are going to end up being friends. But why would they do that if they ended things platonically in the first like honestly I thought the last conversation they had in the first was there friends, for now moment like in the comics. We see Gwen’s feelings grew in ATSV and so did Miles. But mostly Gwen. Her love for him was so obvious to see and the writers did a great job showing it. From beginning to end and showcasing the romantic moments and tension, them understanding their problems, having parallels which like miles said they are the same and the jealously subplot was excellently executed. What I really like is that Pav, Hobie, Jess, Peter and Mile’s parents know they both are in love but they don’t want to admit it which is quite annoying but makes sense because of the Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man relationship fate. Anyway, to the directors, producers and writers. JUST GET THEM TOGETHER.

Doesn’t know that she was forbidden to see him and thought about him for a whole year and talked about him four months. Mate relax, but nah obviously I love these two together and they do share such a great romantic tension and share a deep connection. It start with miles crush on her and Gwen’s feelings developing for him throughout the first movie (platonic/crushes). In the ATSV it gives us that these two really do love each other and that they will do anything to see and be with each other. In BTSV, they are more likely going to kiss and end up being a couple because they almost kissed in ATSV and two of the directors did wanted them to kiss and be a couple in ITSV but one wanted them to have a slow burn romance. So it’s bound to happen.

"not going to kill teenagers" = Literally killed Miguel's daughter who was younger right in front of our eyes. Then in Insomniac Spider-Man: Miles Morales they killed a teenager that was Miles Bestie/Maybe more. Granted I don't think Gwen or Miles will die (well actually maybe one of the Miles's I'll give 60/40% chance)...I'm just saying they already have shown they're willing.

I think the dumbest ship of all time does not have to go to Miles and Penny. I think it actually has to go to spider byte and miles. It makes no sense and incredibly dumb . The only reason people ship them is because Black love or what not. And yes, I said it was a dump ship over Dekku and Bakugo and everything it is the dumbest thing because it makes absolutely zero sense and people go on a rampage about how it makes sense like no it doesn’t like the one for hours of how spider byte and miles would make sense but it just really really really doesn’t

Exactly, Miles doesn’t know that Gwen’s father pointing a gun at her and pushed her away from her world which was the only person she had left. Her begging to go see him but was forbidden, kept on thinking about him for a whole year and talking about him during her missions in the spider society.

If Gwen had told Miles how she got involved with society and what happened in her universe, maybe Miles would have understood why Gwen didn't hold him

I think that it was a little bit of both, but mostly the first one. All of the secrets about Miles being an anomaly, and his father having to die had come out. However, when Miles found out his dad had to die, he kind-of questioned Gwen about her dad which makes it seem like he acknowledged she knew about his dad having to die. I assume Miles probably pieced that together with her not being surprised that Miles figured out his dad has to die, but rather a more “I’m sorry” look at him. On the train, that’s when the secret of him being an anomaly comes out and Gwen speaks about it. I think that’s what Miles was referring to when he said that they knew and never visited. It might have been a little bit about Jeff dying, but mostly about the anomaly in my opinion. You could also think of it from Gwen’s perspective. Pretend only one of the two secrets (Miles’ dad dying and him being an anomaly) were true. If Miles wasn’t an anomaly but his dad was going to die. If Gwen knew, she wouldn’t have any restrictions to visit him and I bet she would have told him about his dad dying. It wouldn’t cause as much harm to their friendship especially if she had just found out. (This is all hypothetical so she just found out and went to tell Miles in this scenario). Sure, Miles trying to save his dad would make an anomaly but that’s not the point. Now think about it if Miles was an anomaly but his dad didn’t have to die. First of all, Gwen would be restricted from going to his universe due to her connection to him. Also, Miles wouldn’t be able to change him being an anomaly so Gwen might think it would be pointless to tell him. She also knew it could damage her friendship with him. It would be so much easier for her to tell Miles his dad is going to die (so he could maybe try and save him) than telling him he is a mistake. That’s also why Miles didn’t have such a huge reaction to Gwen possibly knowing about his dad dying (as I stated before right before the chase scene).

And that Migel is the only one that knows about it before Miles says that spot is going to kill his dad at the meeting. I feel like the two day deadline is locked in only after spot gets his full powers, and that's when Lyla and Migel figure it out. It kinda doesn't make sense that anyone would really know about the exact timing before that point. They might know about it in broad strokes, maybe? Like, being a Captain is a death sentence, but not exactly that Miles dad is definitely going to die. (When Gwen meets Miles dad, she does a little happy salute and says Captain!, so that'd be too weird if she knew) Everyone looks down and apologetic when Miles realises, and that could mean that they are feeling guilty for not telling Miles, now he's starting to figure it out; but I think they are all just resigned to Canon events happening, and are already resigning themselves to letting someone die (again?), even though they didn't know about this particular one before.

His dad isn't destined to die. Rio is. George could still die. The very existence of Earth 42 and Earth 1610B two years after a Double Broken Canon Event is direct proof Miguel was wrong about how they work. Gwen's dad scene is to make sure Gwen realized that and the audience had two examples instead of one.

Invert it back to Aaron is dead, Jeff is alive, Rio is marked for death. Specifically because she already know Miles is Spider-Man and also knows that Gwen is the love of Miles life. If Gwen is in danger Rio dies saving her, If Miles is in danger Rio dies trying to save him. Miguel's theory is wrong because he's applying the canon of the OG comics instead of the canon of Spider-Gwen's and Ultimate Comics. Which are vastly different canons...Just like 2099. Not to mention they've all broken the canon already...They're What If's those rules never actually applied.
