Yes. Plus Hugh actually understands that defense is a necessity where Lane doesn’t really care. A lot of people forget that ‘landshark’ defense was his mantra, nothing to do with ole piss. Bring him on!! As long as he retains caddy which should be a no brainer
@@jonathanreaves1767Freeze never spent any time working with the defense while at Ole Miss. He was always the offensive play caller so the defensive coaches handled their side of the ball. Freeze also didn't have anything to do with the Landshark and it certainly wasn't his "mantra." The Landshark began in 2008. I get the feeling you don't know much about Ole Miss or Hugh Freeze.
Hugh or Cadillac, period. Leave Kiffin alone! Unlike some schools, who the person really is matters at Auburn. Coach Lac and Hugh fit Auburn. Coach Lac embodies Auburn. Coach Freeze, despite his history, fits auburn. Kiffin has a bama/New York yankee mentality. The ONLY thing that matters is a win. How you get it or what you do with it doesn’t matter. That’s Lane to me. I know Coach Lac isn’t that way, and I don’t get that feel from coach Freeze.
Cadillac isn’t the best option. We need to win or we become Tennessee, South Carolina, or Arkansas. Maybe Hugh can do it, but Kiffin elevates our program the moment he walks in the door.
I honestly think coach Lac is close to being a very good coach. I know a lot of people say it was his staff. Well as we’ve seen with nick saban a good staff matters bc even he leans on the staff more so than I think most people thought. Saban and Dabo run it like a CEO, kiffin and Gus micro-manage too much. I think coach Lac was in full CEO mode for all 4 games. Difference between saban and coach Lac, I bet it’s easier to work for coach Lac and therefore he’s more likely to retain staff. Look at Dabo. Kiffin to me isn’t much more of a hire than Gus Malzone. We just got off that bus. While I agree lane could bring immediate success I think he’s far from the best choice.
@@kylestewart6224 Kiffin turned the job down and got a massive extension. I also think the NIL money advantage that we have was a bit of a lie too. Let’s face it Auburn isn’t what it used to be.
Ever since his name came up for Auburn and even Ole Miss job his team Liberty is on a 4 game losing streak. Same with Ole Miss when they thought Kiffin was leaving.
@@patchmaderay3918 Even if he had beat bama you would still have people saying he not what's best for Auburn as a head coach.Witch is crazy to say given the dumpster fire he inherited.I think we know why that is.We always have to go above and beyond that's what my parents taught me as a young African American man in the South. But Coach Williams has.made the African American community and the Auburn family proud.WDE
@Pop Culture Jaguar that sounds nice but let's not fool ourselves we know color does matter in this country. But as far as football is concerned Coach Freeze is more qualified for the job.
So you rather go 5-7 again instead of a sec championship appearance and a possible playoff appearance by next year (+ possibly making nick Sabin our b!tich until his contract expires)
Because you don’t actually want to win. You want to be the “Good guy”. Look how far being the good guy has gotten us. We will get heat no matter who we hire.
Trey Referee I agree with you but I’m also aware in hiring the most qualified coach as well, color shouldn’t be the basis to hire someone. Im with you on freeze hasn’t earned the right to be back at a power 5 school, way to soon to have atoned for he has done. Cadillac Williams deserve to be coached up under a good coach that can catapult him to a top tier coaching level. To become a great coach you have to have patients to study under and learn from the head coach so when they get the opportunity they are ready to succeed. Caddy is showing this by accepting a position on Freezes staff. He knows it will benefit him a lot more then being thrown into a job that is setting him up for failure.
