Narendra Modi sworn in as Prime Minister for the third consecutive term, alongside 71 ministers, on Sunday evening, the new coalition government includes 30 Cabinet Ministers, five Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and 36 Ministers of State, all of whom took the oath of secrecy and office administered by President Droupadi Murmu. Senior leaders such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and S. Jaishankar-who were all ministers in the Modi 2.0 Cabinet-also took oath as Cabinet ministers at the ceremony. Narendra Modi has now become the first person since former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru to be elected for three consecutive terms as PM. Leaders from allied parties, including JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, HAM (Secular) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lalan', TDP's K Ram Mohan Naidu, and LJP-RV leader Chirag Paswan, also took oath as Cabinet ministers, with each of the five allies securing one cabinet berth each. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 240 seats, falling short of the 272-seat majority, while the Congress garnered 99 seats.
