I'd be upset if I were part of a government coalition and heard about a deal by listening to Biden on the news. This doesn't mean the deal isn't worth taking, especially if it stops Hamas from governing Gaza in the fine print.

Israel could have never done what it has in Gaza were it not for the US. US planes, US bombs, US tank shells, U.S. intelligence. $3.8 billion every year to the IDF military on top of the 2 billions of dollars in emergency weapons spending and 100 shipments of weapons.

Israeli made planes are used in the Israeli Air Force along with American made. Israel has famously effective military intelligence agencies. So the war could have absolutely gone exactly the way it has in Gaza without any US assistance. Israel isn’t some vassal state. There are plenty of ethical reasons why the US should be more discerning with the weapons it’s giving right now, but I’m skeptical of the argument that there’s some political lever they could be pulling to end the war that they’re choosing not to pull.

He's trying to pressure both sides into an agreement by omitting parts of the proposal and releasing a secret agreement publicly. It could backfire, but I think it's understandable especially since Americans from the region could vote for him if it actually works.

Secondly the messianic moved Israel soldiers at the southern border to protect violent settlers in the West Bank, also many Israeli soldiers were refusing to work in protest of Netanyahu’s judicial power grab. They’re were protests all year in 2023 of that move. It’s Israeli hubris that allowed this to happen. Israel could easily prevent another October 7. This is not a war for Israeli survival. They have nukes and still possibly the most powerful army in the region. This is a survivable for the Palestinians who are literally be slaughtered and starved in large numbers daily. It's tragic that the civilians are trapped in Gaza. Ukrainians can flee, but no one will accept Gazan refugees. Canada's only taking 5000 and most of them are being smuggled out at a huge cost to their relatives.

It's starting to happen. It's possible there's more food aid then there was before the war, and definitely less aid of other types. The bill supporting Israel also included $9 billion for Gaza. Not sure if Egypt will open their border.

Unfortunately it seems as if both parties enjoy war, Otherwise thank goodness 🎈...this vicious cycle of aggression and defense must end at least for the sake of helping those hostages, it alone stands as a key reason.
