Anyone who knows anything about car audio already knew your testing was legit Exo. Big D also does super legit testing. We also already knew Sundown SA subs would never blow on rated power or more 😂😂😂. I wouldn't be surprised to see them do just fine on 1500 RMS for 5 minutes.
I've got mad respect for Sundown now, I mean it's really hard to find quality on this level nowadays and Sundown has proved it's level of quality bar none.

I highly doubt the sub will take over 2k considering it was starting to bottom out at less then 1,100 watts. my amp at 14volts puts out 11k at 16 volts 14.300k. Do yourself a favor kid and leave this shit to the adults who actually have the stuff. Hell im quite sure you cant even afford half of the current build Im working on. GO back to your video games.

Why does everyone seem to go with whatever EMF says? He's not always right, and his test was different than EXO's and Rockville's... He claimed it was harder and we're just supposed to take his word for it because he did not do the same test.

It is to Sundown's benefit that they market their products using real numbers. Underrated numbers even. I appreciate that honesty, and I am sure others do too.
Its pretty sad a company that has been known for low quality and cheap products would have the nerve to try and down a company like Sundown Audio. I understand the K9 woofer is cheap and decent, but will never hold a candle to the Sundown subwoofer. I still can not understand what they feel they are accomplishing by making those videos trying to discredit other companies. I actually heard someone say "Rockville makes a decent product", putting your logo on a Alibaba product is not "making" a product. LOL Much respect for you guys at Sundown Audio, making this video is cool, but not needed because you guys have already earned the respect in this industry.

Remember Rockville powered your sa sub on one of their Rockville amps that don't make the power it claims to make They clipped your sa sub to death and won't admit it. But we all know what really happened.
That's woofer land. Most pro boxes play in that zone. They use subs for the lower frequencys. They use brick wall filters to keep them in their area. Pro stuff has to play for hours at max volume in the rain etc. Really cheap stuff will tune that low since a lot of people dont know what true subs can do. Most music stops at 60 hz since the average Joe's devices can't play any lower. Before the advent of CD's, you would be hard pressed to find truly low frequency stuff on records.... it made cheap turntables jump tracks plus it required larger spacing between grooves thus reducing the amount of time available per side of track. As an old fuck who still loves analog, that is the one area where digital shines- the ability to play low. I heard bonnie sing that same shitty song a million times in the 80 at car audio shows since it was one of the few popular songs that a true low note at -3 db on the meter. (Yeah, I have been following car audio for almost 50 years. The good old days weren't. 100 watts was a huge amp that would cost thousands in today's money. I bought an Alpine pre-amp deck that cost me 300 at accommodation pricing. Retail in today's dollars would probably be 2k. And it was not that great a head unit)
I like to tune my zv5 15s 60hz in a sealed box, my mids at 200hz, and my tweeters at 28hz. Its not much since its only being powered by 1 ohms but I just turn the weird knob on the amp all the way up

Someone gave me a sundown 12" 10years ago never heard of them before,turned out to be the hardest hitting 12 I've ever heard!!! I still have it today and still sounds great. Send me one of the yard sale speakers please!!!
That Rockville sub isn't even half what Sundown is charging. Both are made in China crap you might as well pay 1/4 what sundown charges and buy the generic Chinese freight version of the same sub
i run a single sa-12 in a ported box at 32hz, 800w. never had any issues with smells. ive blown fuses before, but the sub has never had any problems. sounds really good and it hits hard.
I have just purchased the new SAE1500D LIMITED EDITION and two E15-V4 D4 Subwoofers and I can’t wait to get them all installed in my little Scion xB. I plan to upgrade everything soon but I thought that this would be a good starting point for me. I have always been a Bass Head and it all began in 1987 when I purchased my first car. I have had many different types of cars, trucks and vans since then and nearly every single one has had some kind of bang in them. This is going to be my first experience with Sundown Audio and I believe that I will not regret it. I’m looking forward to doing a lot of business with you guys and I’ll keep you posted on the progress. I’m also trying to get my employers to sponsor a SPL build for me and also sponsoring a competition in the future. Please help me out with this if you are interested.
The surround has a split in it and the guy I got it from just left it outside, so now it has sand in places where it should never be. The coils ohm fine.
Legit testing. I've been running with 3 banhammer 12's and 3 sundown scv2000d's for 3 years now and the subs and amps have never been a issue. Especially when I average 152+ on music. Sundown you know you guys are great and your doing everything right when you have haters. Thumbs up brutha

Had two 10s SA. Had a 4k on them. I played them with no mercy. Sold them and the guy is still using them. That's 7 years now. They don't know don't run with the big dog Sundown Audio

I don’t know if any other speaker as tried and true as a sundown SA. Ran them for 2 years and the only speaker I’ve ran that never blew and pushed 40% more watts than rms daily.
No shit....that’s why I said I was pushing 40% more watts then rms....cuz I was pushing about 1200 watts to it...FROM THE AMP.....everybody thinks they know something specials.........

Sa12 nice job, legit test. I have a sundown sae1000D mono amp. And very happy with your product. Im pushing a alpine type R, and its stomping that sub. At times it smells hot. As soon it blows, I will purchase a sun down 12 without a doubt. Its the best sound system on the market...

Meow , I had a Rockville rpa8 and now a rpa9 pro DJ amplifier which is supposed to be 3000 watts, it can barely blow 2 Walmart dual brand subwoofers , I used those for my back patio on the amp, they work together lmfao . This big bad 3000 watts DJ amp barely pushing some 200rms or so 12s lmfao .
This really is the golden age of car audio. So much at your fingertips, and anyone can afford a high quality, and high power setup. And here I am simply loving my budget build in my van with a prefab box and a $30 dollar 12" woofer. :-) I'm kind of wish Sundown would talk more about the S.Q. side of things with their budget line, and how to go about making the ultimate box for these kinds of woofers to get the cleanest output. I love the SPL stuff, but I really wish companies would really showcase more of their entry level line, and go more into what kind of enclosures would be best for that style of build. I've done a ton of work on my system, and love the sound, but I would like to build a real S.Q. box on a budget that would fit in my van, and seamlessly integrate with the basics. Just good old fashion tuning, and proper driver selected. Kind of like a budget spl challenge. But Budget SQ format. THAT would be super!
@Timothy That's what I have been saying all along! Few people know this, but the money you pay for your gear really is worth the investment. I just wish they would flex their muscle a bit, and show folks that what they are getting is really World class good stuff. I have to admit, I have been more of a S/Q/ person then SPL. But I love the quality of the gear. And you really do get real tech support. Not bad. :-)
I've seen both videos, I want to see a test showing how dirty the power from the DBcomp5 was compared to the SCV-4000. Ship the "Send It" woofer to EXO to test on the same amp he tested the Rockville.
10 mins of glorious victory on that sub... I already knew it would take it after having 2 sa12s... I wanna see it blow... then please do the X12, thats what i have now and the shop i go for tuning doesnt understand the power these things can take...
Not bad at all 750watts at 120 dB's and then u add 250watts all together 1,000watts u did a 125/126 dB's that is a full 5/6 dB's that's pretty damn good...good video. Who ever said anything bad about Sundown they obviously don't know what they're talkin about Point Blank...my number one favor digital design aka DD's and then Sundown Audio. U can't go wrong with either one of these Subwoofers.
My very first sundown was the SA-12 and I was giving it maybe 500-750 watts over the recommendation. It wouldnt blow or anything. Now I have the x12 v2 d2 and its amazing.
Is going to be like hide and go seek. That's too funny. I'm not going to put my head down in shame but I do run the Rockville W12K6 subs. They don't seem to have the same glue problems, but I think you just sold me on swapping brands. I have to get me 4 of those.
I didn’t see the other test, but as far as this test goes...Derrick is spot on. Great testing. The Termlab doesn’t lie. Clean power is key for the longevity of ANY subwoofer. Good job. 👍
Haha yah -- the area of the warehouse with the yard-sale subs (dark area in the beginning) is sort of just a "catch all" area that we don't really work in on a normal basis.
Still got my v1 sa12, overpowered and clipped it for probably 3 years, hours at a time, before she let go. Even then only once voice coil blew so I just put double the power to the other coil and let it bang until that one let go🤪
I have been running my SA-10 off of my Rockford Power 1000bd for YEARS now. Solid 2 ohm load. It has been in three different prefab boxes and still holding solid. Now I do not full blown wail on my sub but I do enjoy occasionally beating on it. Use clean power and don’t drive the things into the ground. Under powering is far worse for them.
Sundown does have the Discounted Replacement Warranty. You can send back your blown sub, pay the recone fee (cheap for an SA), and we will send you a brand new subwoofer.
Toughest thermal test is at coil inducrance point or higher, toughest mechanical test is below Fs (the lower, the tougher, till you run out of electricity power down low (sub reactive load, amp or/and head unit or the original amplified sound coming from reader processed data to RCA A/C signal etc etc.) WOW Sundown Audio FTW
Cea certification not needed when the give honest rms from factory cea is for cheap stuff that lies and if you don't look for the logo then you will still be lies to
Sundown SA subs aren't made with magic. You'll see none of that magic smoke those other Jokers cough up after 10.7 seconds. Sundown SA's are pure beast, plays music loud like you want it, and are 💯% legitimate. Edit: changed from 17 seconds to 10.7 seconds as shown by Exo's video.
The SA-12's always performed great for me and never had any issues. But that's because I was running good clean power and had it in a very nice 1.75cu.ft Russian Baltic Birch ported box tuned to right at 32hz. If people would run good clean power and use the correct size box, subs will last WAY longer.
@@zakjonas9612 absolutely... Wanna debate on it? $214 and can handle 1k RMS all day of clean power. Non stamped baskets and good quality Chinese coils. Even Fi doesn't make a $215 sub that compares.
I run 1 sundown sa12 powered by a skar audio 1000d. Sounds amazing and I have pushed it hard for a year now with no problems what so ever. Not to mention I picked up the entire setup used so there is no saying how hard they pushed it. Hands down my favorite sub I have ever owned. I have run 3 10" jl w6. 1 kicker solo baric l7 and many others over the years. No comparison.
I beg to differ. I've run both these and L7s. With the L7 you really have to get everything dialed in but when you do they have more punch. Sundown may pick up the lows a tad better but I'm still rocking 2 L7s to this day. They're the most durable subs out there in my opinion. Just have to have everything tuned correctly. Sundown is great though
I am a true testament to the SA 12 v.3 subs. I have 2 running on a SAE 2000D In a WAAAAAAYYYY undersized enclosure (1.55q/ft per sub) due to limited space in my ram and these are by far the best subs I've ever owned. Love Sundown lifetime customer
You'll need to get that voice coil into the several hundred degrees before thermal is an issue. Those SA-12's are super well built. I've seen 3,000+ watt burps. But a continious test tone like that? It's stupid, but I'll still go higher, maybe 2,850 watts 36hz, 1 minute? I think he's got a clean sine wave and clean power working in his favor.
Beast of a sub the Sa 12 is the real deal took 1000rms 5min straight holy hell !!!! I think maybe around 1800watts it would either loose it magnet gap and break the triple joint but the coil would still be ok 👍
I just ordered 2 SA 12’s from down4sound loaded in a “profab” box tuned to 32hz... I hope it bangs. I haven’t had a system in 10 years , back when a good amp was $1 per watt...
I'm having difficulty finding a certain video made a year or so ago that demonstrated a small SUV that had 4 E-12s on an SCV-6500(I think) that was torture tested into doing a shade over 160dB. It was a great demonstration on how durable Sundown Audio's subwoofers are designed. If someone knows what video it is, I'd love to share it. This SA-12 test didn't surprise me a bit. Cheers!
Running an SA 8 for 2 years on a Rockford 500.1 no problems yet and before that it was on an American Bass VFL 120.1 (original vfl amp not the new vfl audio line) doing well over 18oo and still no problems. It's in an enclosure built to the measurements that is on your web site also
I had 2 SA 15s on a SAZ 3500 wired at .5 ohm for over a year before one of them went, Coil didnt fry. it just seperated from the cone. Hands down the best speakers ive ever had. check the profile for vids and the setup. keep it up SUNDOWN.
