Ola I really like how much you focus on Rhythm playing- too many demos get lost in the "shred" (lead) for my taste, you keep it simple and massive and focused on riffs. Stay safe and chug in place

agree in fact 90% of metal and rock is rhythm playing and only 5-10% are leads. Funny that few realize that because flashy solos get the spotlight. But if you play only lead the song will suck.

Synergy looks more interesting from day to day I guess. I don't know which preamp it is but they've got some Diezel preamp as well and now bogner and Friedman. perhaps there might be more to come for Diezel.

This whole set-up is killer. The VH pedal really raises the bar for the next episode of "Will it Chug?". Channel 2 would be perfect for the rhythm guitarist since it's so clean, yet more in the background compared to Channel 1, which is definitely louder and more in your face. Cool video, glad I clicked!

What I like about your channel the best Ola is that you`re doing with guitars and tech what I would be doing with it. You`re literally answering all my question about any equipment in less then 10 minutes. Best guitar salesmen I have ever seen.

I just want to say that this is first time I have heard something, and almost immediately bought it. I have wanted a Diezel in my amp arsenal, but couldn't justify the cost. Thanks Ola! Would love to see a Herbert review as well.

When running through the loop it does go into the send right? And on the amp itself only the master volume is used/works, the other knobs aren't used correct? I have this pedal on the way and just want to make sure I get it right!

Sounds very very close to hetfields live sound! I know he uses diezel amps but in a axe FX II setup. Its a very good sounding unit!

This preamp is the actual channel 3 circuitry from the VH4 per Diezel. Can be set up as a preamp or distortion pedal with dedicated outputs. I'll never let this one go, because paying $4k for the real thing won't fly for home studio use :(

If you have a Kemper Profile amp there's a few out there for Diesel VH-4 and the Synergy system has a VH4 Module for the Diesel.

@@hawg427 excellent advice my friend, but I have a 7 month old daughter and and a Boss GT1 that I run in stereo to two Crate heads and a Carvin 4x12 and a Crate 4x12 with Vintage 30's. I can't justify spending the $1700 on a Kemper. My 5150 combo has some serious shred to it, but even running an Alesis Nanoverb and a Carl's Custom Guitars volume knob through the effects loop as TWO separate master volumes can't tame that beast. She likes to hang out with me while I play so keeping the volume under control is a BIG deal. If she needs hearing aids, I'm directly responsible. Not good. Anyways.. Sweetwater has the VH4 mk1 pedal for a decent price. I'm thinking about it.

@@hawg427 The Synergy heads doesn't have the same tubes and the same Fx loop circuit, also, the VH4 Module have only 2 channels instead 4...similar story with Kemper. I thing the best solution for having a stunning VH4 sound is buy the Diezel VH2 Head or, for a very cheap solution, buy this VH4 pedal.

the vh4 has been on my dream list for years. i mostly play black BM, Neil Young, and Jerry Garica stuff, so itll be fun getting different tones for each from this. but im still open to a different pedal, but none yet have caught my eye like the vh4 has.

Some people say that great tube amp sound can't be emulated through solid-state pedal circuit. Yes it can be done this way. But it needs a lot of work to design the proper circuit to emulate all stages of tube circuit and in some cases speaker cab emulation. It's easier to do with digital/software emulation + impulse responses though. That's why these pedals can be expensive, because somebody had to spend a lot of time to design it. It's not like a basic distortion pedal that just distorts the signal like DS-1/RAT and all the clones etc.

I have the one channel version of this pedal, and I can tell you that if your amp is lacking in *low end, this pedal will fix that! Highly recommended pedal! Only thing better would be an actual Diesel amp head!

Hey Ola, how is it doing? Man I love your videos. Have you tried some Meteoro amplifiers like a MHA2000 or MAK3000? They look like Marshall stuff, if you get hands on one please show us. Greetings from Brazil.
