If it is anything like my Gen 2 it'll do a lot better having the extra grip up front. Ford took away the ability to run Baja 2H locked on the Gen 2, and if you spend a little bit of time in just Baja 2H you'll quickly understand why.
I say it often, but y'all deserve at least 10x the viewership these videos get. Incredible driving skill and video presentation. I know y'all are at the mercy of what's available, but I'd like to see one of the mid 2000s Chevy Colorados with the 3.5l inline-5. The lower weight and center of gravity might give it an advantage over something like the Bronco.
Hey Wyatt's back!! I didn't know! I had kind of lost interest once he left. Glad he's back. Reminds me of a great coach when I used to do competitive sports.
Love to see your thoughts on a Maverick Tremor or Bronco Sport (Heritage/Badlands) for rally style off-road. I felt it did better in that aspect than the body-on-frame Bronco and I own one, so that says a lot. lol
Can't wait to see the 4wd sequel, even though I'm personally more of a light weight sh!tbox kind of guy. It's interesting that the Bronco Sport was faster by a hair.
Baja Mode and then shift it back into 2WD, everything changes in the brake chassis controls, try trail braking in this mode ;). Each combination of modes will yield a different result that lends itself better or worse to each unique situation.
How was the Bronco Sport faster? Is it even anything more than a less-aerodynamic Escape with a goofy suspension setup? Come to think of it, how was the Sport that fast to begin with? Need to rewatch that video.
My guess is they had stability control on for the sport because it did seem that it kept the wheels in check. My mustang (with me driving) is quicker with advanced track on because the brakes are independently kept in check. Just My two cents.
Wyatt, we've seen you rally the big Ford 450 Diesel (serious work truck) and now the Ford Bronco Raptor (off roader), how about something in the middle, like a 4th Gen RAV4?
I love rallying my 2023! I'm happy I traded off the Wildtrak (or as I called it, Wildcrap) for it lol. My husband and I have been to rally driving school and he said for me to tell you "Good driving, man" lol. That was excellent driving!😊
yall should do a real rally car, not a road going version, but like a ford fiesta WRC esq car, obviously not going to actually be able to get a real WRC car, but something close to it like Rally 3 or 4
Excellent content and I look forward to every one you put out. Two requests: 1. Do the same test with the Jeep Gladiator Mojave, Jeep's answer to an off-road racing truck. And 2. Please get some decent driving shoes. Those hiking boots are not doing you any favors and are borderline unsafe.
Yep. I looked up the weights for both. The Raptor is 5,700lbs, the Sport is 3,700lbs. Big difference in handling. It also sounded like Wyatt was a little sketched out by how top heavy the Raptor was.
As goofy as it might seem, the Ford F150 3.5 eco Sport is one of the best rallying trucks out there. What's even goofier is that a Mazda CX-3 is way too good at rallying for what it is
4:18 "this isn't built for this" perhaps you should have read the manual, or even read the name plastered all over it. it was specifically designed for the elitist most extreme off-roading. 5:23 "but that's not a fault of the vehicle, hey, if YOU roll cars over you Roll cars over" no one wants opinions about another driver in a review testing the capabilities of the SUV. just tell me what the SUV can do as you drive it at the limits. 6:14 -6:32 here is about the most information that was given about this SUV's capabilities in you're Timed run you go from no lap into "hot lap", that's just the first lap not a hot lap. I hope the other "Hot Hap/Timed Runs" where also done in the same way as to keep things constant. Seeing as how you have logistical problems that split the same activities/from the same day/from the same vehicle into different videos I don't trust in the consistency in the information given. I understand the title being an attention grabber, but at the very least be honest in the description. limits? ultimate test? love to see everyone having fun and doing what they love. however within moderation comes little to no growth. and that was a moderately done project, in my opinion.
400 HP?? That seems pretty gutless for this day and age. 0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds when a Raptor R can do it in 3.6?? Save your money and get a 1st gen Cayenne... faster and you won't be in tears when you bash it off a tree.
