This truck was sitting in the same field of dreams as Kevin's green 51 Ford F1. Sitting for decades? It has a Ford Flathead, maybe original? Patina paint. Abandoned.
That's so kool,my high school friend drove his 48 ford truck everyday, he wanted to sell me his 46 ford truck,,that had a tiny engine in it,,and it had a factory locking steering wheel, that was bed ass for a 46,,,
That truck would look good lowered a couple inches then get pennys hot rods and customs logod on the door get a stencil made and roll it on with some old white paint and once it’s dry rip the stencil off that would look killer nice job guys 👍
My dad would drive a Ford but he was a Chevy or a GMC guy. That old Ford F-100 truck is older than me and in better shape I bet it will run. Good luck guys.
You need to give it a good drink. As a flathead has a partial updraft even though the carburetor is on top of the intake. The air fuel mixture has to travel into the block upward thru the heads and down into the combustion chamber. That's the reason why the flathead needs lots of fuel to prime it particularly if it's been sitting for a while.
Glad it runs as good as it does. Hope the block is not cracked between valves, if it is use a lot of block sealer. it will run for years. I like the idea of only a driver. no rubbing and shinning and no driveing. Leave her rough and enjoy, That is what you do with rough old girls. Nice old tin where you back up against lots of good future projects.
👍The ol FORD “fat-head” gives ya everything except power. I’ll admit, a well built, chromed up flat head w/ the acorn nuts shining really does look great.
Excellent video Penny's :) also that truck get about 3 miles on running around were sat for long time and great team work together guys and that 292 Flat Head V8 still strong motor also floor shifter too think got up 10 mph went got driveing to ! Be excellent vechile project to up for sure and drive on road again too! I notice had low blow by to that amazing to need cap but worth saving totally too and hope see more videos too soon again on it on midnight black cat color body is ! Small block 350 V8 4 bbl with that Manual transmission with Racing Clutch plus posi rear of 377 to and power brakes with disk also drums be excellent plus hope fuel tank good condition too!
That's a nice truck. If you guys decide to sale it let me know. Or if you run across another 1 in reasonable shape I'm looking for one in the 48 to 53 years.
Cant kill those old flatties! Tune it up with a proper carb rebuild and I bet it will run pretty sweet! You can still get master cylinder rebuild kits as well as wheel cyl rebuild kits really cheap, at least last I checked. Will be fun to mob that around!
You can buy every thing for those trucks will be ordering new wheel cylinders and a master soon there Dano will be a fun little truck im thinking how are things with you.
@@pennyshotrodscustoms figured it would be neat to show people how to rebuild that stuff. Me? Oh just have my hands full straightening out the wiring on a sketchy 12v convertted 55 Ford Fairlane, and dragging my feet on repairing the differential in my 73 Duster. Busy busy!
@@pennyshotrodscustoms have a few videos i put up, Duster is in one of them. Seems to be easy to shoot footage, hard part is sitting down and doing the editing!
Amazing - now that is a find. That appears to be a fantastic truck to do more than just get it running and driving. Ha d we seen this truck before in one of the Forgotten Field Finds?
Its been around we will be ordering brakes and a rad and hole bunch of other stuff to get it on the road and possible seeing it before we have had a few of them.
As much fun as it is to bust Kevin's chops, he has to be alright with a big bag of sunflower seed to feed the birds! I thought the axle on stove was to heat it up and drop it! :)
I would of filled the float bowl with fuel before putting the top back on the carb that way it will be holding some fuel and won't have to bottle feed it as much
At least Corey didn't mention putting the 2.2L Dodge in it (until 10 minutes in)!!! Nice little Windsor would work good in there with a C4 transmission! Go Penny's!!!
Corey: Great shirt! The Atomic Punk is undoubtedly one of the best custom cars built after Roth retired! I got a magazine article about it some place (R&C I think). Back when they made several quality magizines!
Hey Guys. That is a cool old truck. I don't think it is a 51. Didn't the one-piece windshield start in 54? But the peddles sure loo like 51. As you say, it doesn't matter really. It is still cool. I would love to have another old truck. Oh, got to go. Supper time. I will watch the rest later. Thanks for sharing.
No no I have a 52 just like it and it's been garage kept for 20 years. Just trying to find a price to sell it. Please let me know. All matching #s yellow
Lol my bad sorry about that they have gone up in price i always found in trying to sell things its only worth what some one will pay. Where roughly do you live.
Only joking will leave the flat head it in we put the truck in storage and hopefully get to it this summer. we also bough a good running flat head for it just in case.
