It looks like a 48, and they are a positive ground tractor, I almost fried my 47 by hooking up the battery backwards

I’ve heard white vinegar will free it up faster then anything.

A 1950 has the generator on the other side, the distributor on a 1950 would be where the generator is on yours. In 1950 they stopped the top tube to contain the plug wires, as well. Finally, a 1950 will have a proof meter/tachometer in the lower right area of the dash panel. Yours is a 1948-49.
