The creative process became really hard for me. I almost felt intimidated by it because I desperately wanted everything I wrote to be great. I was so hard on myself when I missed the mark because I couldn’t separate my self-worth from the music I was making. It’s a tumultuous relationship with music; it can be my favorite thing in the world and also the thing I’m most afraid of.
