Will Kyle Larson get a NASCAR waiver after missing Coke 600 for Indy 500?

For weeks, Kyle Larson's attempt to run the Memorial Day double at Charlotte and Indianapolis was the top story in all of motorsports. Frantic back-and-forth travel kept Larson in an IndyCar and his NASCAR Cup Series car at North Wilkesboro, Charlotte and Indy throughout the weeks leading up to the Indianapolis 500.
But when Mother Nature delayed the start of the Indy 500, Larson and team owner Rick Hendrick opted to keep him at the Brickyard, knowing he'd miss the start of the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte. Justin Allgaier filled in as Larson's relief driver and wound up running every lap before rain shortened the 600 just past halfway.
Will Larson get a waiver from NASCAR to remain eligible for the championship? Some folks are asking if he should even be considered for a waiver because he chose to remain at Indy when it was apparent he couldn't race in both events without missing at least some of the NASCAR race.
In this clip from the O'Reilly Auto Parts Pit reporters, our panel discusses Larson's double attempt, whether he will or should get the waiver and what it means going forward for drivers who miss a Cup Series race. #NASCAR #Indy500 #KyleLarson

I agree, but I think he already got it while they were planning the double.

He and Rick Hendrick made that decision, any one would run Indy over Charlotte

If he cannot race for the championship, he should just go drive Indy cars the rest of the year. No reason to drive NASCAR races. Maybe after a year, he will be good enough in open wheel cars to win next yeat. His fan base will get him ssponsors any place. Of they can give him a waiver and keep his fans with NASCAR. Still NASCAR does not need him or any driver. It is bigger than the teams as it will show later this year with negotiations.

@@tmt3052If Kyle hadn't won a race already he would have left Indy to start the 600

Kyle Larson made NASCAR mmoney. But lets say NASCAR says he does not get a waiver. So he does something else for the rest of the year since he is ineligble then next year does he come back to NASCAR or go to something else like maybe F1? And what do NASCAR fans do if a championship driver and cempetitor for the championship races for nothing or goes someplace else the rest of the year?

Indy Car won on Sunday but not so much Nascar. One of their biggest stars was helping a rival series destroy them in the ratings..... you can't have that happen

I think that Hendrick didn't request a waiver because they already have it IMO
