It's called sunk cost fallacy. People spend so much money on a sim that they think their dark souls tire model where they're forced to underdrive the car is absolutely superior to just about every other sim on the market. It's insane, and this is coming from an ex-iR player of 5+ years.

To confirm Le Mans Ultimate Sebring is the most accurate scan. In terms of billboards and trackside objects from the video match all that are in each picture from when I was at Super Sebring weekend for 2023.

As far as physics it will kill iracing. So far with graphics, shaders, hud, black boxes it kills iracing. Not even close.

Its hard to pull people from iRacing because the drivers have invested so much of their money into it already. If LMU can rival special events and the online multiplayer is solid i could see it still being very popular.

Of course you're going to defend your sinking ship that you've already sunk hundreds of dollars into for regurgitated, half assed content. Crack open an IMSA rulebook and tell me how the hyrbids work for your GTPs IRL, then log into iR and tell me if they work the same way as they do IRL, or is it just a copy pasted hybrid system from the old LMP1 and Mercedes F1 car? Times are changing, old man, and people are finally WAKING UP and saying NO MORE OVERPAYING

I am looking forward to picking it up tomorrow. My only frame of reference is IRACING and ACC... never tried RF2. I am curious though if Simhub will work with it as I run MOZA and a few external dashes. But watching the initial pre-release replays from Leman Ultimate, and having filmed Sebring IMSA and SRO quite a bit in the last 3 years...the Lemans Ultimate version just looked more authentic to me. It will be interesting to see how it pans out after tomorrows release and I get to see it for myself in the sim. I just feel that IRACING tends to skimp a ton on the small things like as you mentioned the campers and tents. If you go to Sebring for an SRO event... its pretty bare... if you are there for IMSA... its jam packed with campers and tents. I like the small details that add to the realism..

They both look good, but the important thing is whether or not they FEEL realistic. If LMU can rival IR then I would probably go with LMU as IR will cost you upwards of $2,000. That's a lot for "a game".

It’s not a secret iracing isn’t as realistic as people are saying. Plus the netcode is awful, and the game is very very expensive. LMU will not kill Iracing, but it will make them hurry a bit

iRacing is terribly unrealistic and underwhelming in many ways, and I'm glad that a lot of people are finally waking up and realizing that. Only thing iR is good for is it's instant-access multiplayer, which will ALWAYS make it the king of multiplayer racing... However thats about it. A years-long monopoly on multiplayer sim competition is the only thing that's been carrying iR in terms of popularity. No other sim has been able to match the absolute scale that iR has, but atleast the devs on other teams can be bothered to crack open a rulebook and learn how the cars they're modeling actually function (looking at you, IMSA GTP's....)

That constitutes a potential threat doesn't it. It's utterly ridiculous to even suggest that a title focused on one race series could "kill" iRacing.

I intend to race on both. Iracing is a paid service, so people will utilize it to get their ROI. There's no reason why sim racers cannot enjoy both.

Hey kireth! I’m Roel and I had a question on the fanatec product. I’m Planning on ordering the clubsport dd plus. I also see online that it won’t be available until February 28. But still planning on getting it. I do see that people are having issues getting their order. So I just wanted some advice from you! I really want to try this product! But I’m kinda scared because I don’t really want to wait a month or more for it. I’m new to sim racing and I’ve had other products but my eye is on fanatec. It'll naturally get attention from lots of ACC/iRacing players. As for GT, it's always the same: Those who leave, would just leave anyway, it's just not their thing. GT7 is quite simple most of time, not requiring drivers to polish their abilities as much they would need in other sims to be competitive - of course, not implying GT is a bad game, since it's actually the only one I'll keep playing all along - in the end, for those who look for a more refined experiece, LeMans will surelly be an addition to the likes of ACC and IR, and I'll be trying it out as soon as it looks stable, as I've been craving for some modern hypercar experience.

I have to strongly disagree with you. Have you ever tried the online laptime challenges on GT7? Even good drivers are seconds off the leaders. I love GT7 in the fact that most people can get around the track that try out my rig, but the amount of improvement available is so much more than most people think.

@@mrctuned2844 You are right, that's why I said "most of the time". Don't get me wrong, I was just trying to put the "GT7 is more casual player friendly" talk into words. I know there are quite challenging things in GT7, and you have to be able to fully apply driving techninques to achieve something, and on top of that, in higher ranks you can see the insane amount of details those players have to pay attention to.

@JunoBuh ahhh I got you man! I see what you meant now. I think that's something GT7 doesn't get enough credit for, is that in my experience proper sims don't do a great job of simulating "less than the limit" if that makes sense. GT7 is easy for a casual player to pick up, as you said, yet also offering something for the hardcore, which is more what I was trying to say. 🤝

I am desperate for LMU to be amazing. But the signalling so far seems a bit off. Early access switcheroo, no VR at launch, financial troubles.... I'm a bt worried this is going to be dead on arrival. But hopefully they'll be able to finish it - I love WEC
