I'm so mad at myself for having spent so much money with tons of plugins and courses for Divi for the past 3 years. I wish I knew this in the past. I just bought the Kadence bundle, and I'll have to redesign all my sites.

Thank you, Jack! Another great video! I appreciate the fast action. I’m one of the guys that asked for this info. Much appreciated. Your channel is definitely going to grow and deservedly so. 👍 I agree with some of the comments. I wonder if choosing “heavier” blocks from the different plugins would start showing some differences. Here’s my other concern...I wonder how well the plugins play together. There’s always the chance of plugin conflicts but another concern might be for example if I were to use a Kadence Row Block and populate that row with a mix of Kadence and Getwid blocks, is that all gonna work or will there be some strange layout anomalies? I suppose some experimenting will reveal that. Anyway, just some ideas for future videos. Thank you, man!🤓

Thanks for giving cool ideas for future videos. I really appreciate that. For my next video, I am planning to do an experiment on the "heavier" blocks and see which are the ones that will slow down the site. That will be one video. And thereafter, I will do another video to cover among the heavier blocks, which ones are faster among different plugins. That's the immediate plan. Personally, I don't think there will be any conflicts among Block plugins. I've tried them once while doing the list of Gutenberg Blocks, but I will do a little more extensive test. Again, thank you for your support 😊

Yeah, it is all about getting use to it. Sooner or later, page builders will be phased out and Gutenberg blocks will take over. So, I think it is good to bite the bullet now, and embrace what's about to come. Your clients will definitely appreciate you helping them to move forward, instead of backwards. 😊

The idea of comparing different plugins is great!! But why are you testing buttons only? :)
@JackCao
@JackCao 3 года назад
It is because the test is about "will multiple block plugins slow down your website". I concluded that multiple plugins will not slow down a site, but it is the blocks that you choose that may slow down a site. I did a test on which blocks will slow down a site too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VU5VS0Po4h4.html

Hey Jack, It is interesting that there is little difference in the difference speed tests. That got me to thinking, would the difference be more pronounced if the tests with multiple blocks from each plugin. Also did you check the page size for each page to see if the different plugins pulled in only the code for the blocks actually being used as opposed to loading code for all of the blocks in that plugin? A couple of other question. How much difference would using an average host like GoDaddy or Bluehost make? Would testing with caching turned on and another with caching turned off make a difference? Great Video! Jim
@JackCao
@JackCao 3 года назад
Hi Jim, Thanks for your comment! Multiple Blocks: I don't think there will be much significant change when it comes to the "lightweight" blocks, such as the buttons, call to action, divider, etc. But, when it comes to "heavier" blocks, such as testimonials, accordion, post grid, etc. That's where the real challenge is. I am pretty sure there is a significant impact on speed. My next video is dedicated to find which are the "heavier" blocks that will slow down a site. And thereafter, I will do another video comparing which plugins perform better for the heavier blocks. It is quite difficult to put these experiments into this video because all I was trying to do was to find out if multiple plugins will cause site speed to slow down. Page Size: I've checked them and there is absolutely no difference in them. The plugins will only pull the codes for that specific block and not from the entire library of blocks. GoDaddy/Bluehost: I think there will only be a little impact, but I can't be too sure. That gave me a good idea for future videos. I will do the test for you. Caching turned on: Yes, caching will skew results, so I would normally not turn them on. Again, I want to thank you for the questions and it really gave me a lot of ideas. 👉👍😊 Jack

Good method. But yes, something with higher load (3 standard content blocks?) than a button would be more relevant to real world. But this shws an encouraging result.

please do a video doing a page with kadence block that is really design, like we can see with elementor speed art. And show if it is fast. (if it possible compare performance to the same page built with elementor)
@JackCao
@JackCao 3 года назад
Actually, I have done a comprehensive comparison between Gutenberg vs all page builders. In the videos, I created an identical page with all page builders and did 10 Google PSI tests on them: Gutenberg vs Elementor vs Divi vs Thrive vs Siteorigin vs Beaver: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DLmRK1ZBb-Q.html Gutenberg vs Oxygen vs Bricks vs Brizy vs Livecanvas: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y9GY-EP0PG0.html

I was wondering about this! Si good video! Can you do this but with elementor plugin addons?
@JackCao
@JackCao 3 года назад
I doubt I would do a video on Elementor Plugins because I don't see Elementor or page builders as part of the future of WordPress. It could probably be phased out in the next 2 to 3 years if they don't innovate and move towards Gutenberg. Gutenberg is catching up really fast and with the newest WordPress update 5.8, you can literally drag and drop Gutenberg Blocks to where ever you want on a page. It works much like Page builders.

@@JackCao Yes you are right. I already moved away from elementor to Gutenberg. I just used to be curious about it. Keep up making these quality videos, I'm a fan!

Do you have any advice for Google AdSense? It's slowing my site a lot, and I turned it off for now, since I have only 5,000 pageviews a month, so it's not bringing too much money. I plan to activate it when I reach 10,000 pageviews, but it'll slow down my site again...
@JackCao
@JackCao 2 года назад
It's a long shot, but I think you should switch your ad platform to Ezoic. Ezoic won't mind how many page views you have, and it has a lot of innate speed optimization tools which other platforms don't. Check this out: jackcao.com/ezoic

I think you are not clearing caching.... So everytime same old page is loading with just one button.... I am telling this from your gtmatrix results which shows same one button on screen... I may be wrong... Please correct me if I am missing something
@Line49Design
@Line49Design 2 года назад
You're missing something. The page content changed each time Jack saved his edits. And the PageSpeed results also changed each time. There is no flaw here.

One Importamt thing: this is not correct for every Gutenberg plugin. There are some which will load every block on every page despite not even using a single one.

@@JackCao blank Install, has 49.2kb / 9 requests (astra theme, page contains a title + a Paragraph) Install getwid + guteblocks -> 148 kb even though nothing was added Big no from me. Both load jquery.
@RedcubeX24
@RedcubeX24 3 года назад
@@JackCao installing GenerateBlocks + kadence + stackable + qubely adds another 30kb / 4 requests (getwid and guteblocks added 10) to page size even though nothing was added. Loading them without getwid / guteblocks leads to 115 kb total and 15 requests total (one of them, i believe qubely, loads jquery too). But you get a lot more with those than with getwid/guteblocks.

?? Every test shows an identical page size and number of page requests from the test before it. I think you need to clear the cache before each test…
@Line49Design
@Line49Design 2 года назад
No, he doesn't. When you see the PageSpeed test run it means it's generating a fresh result. In cases where you just ran a test in the last few seconds you will sometimes see PageSpeed skip the process and immediately display the previous result. That did not occur in this video.

Noticed that too. Siteground's page caching is enabled by default. So yeah. I think he needs to clear or disable the cache before doing tests
