We're finally bringing Riverview into the Economy 2.0 future, and the changes to the city are pretty drastic! One of these changes is worsening our already terrible education system coverage as thousands are on waiting lists for elementary schools, high schools, colleges, and universities. So it's finally time we build a university! We also expand our bus network and add in some much-needed super high-density residential towers. Hope you enjoy!

Found your channel not that long ago. Have to say, the amount of detail you put into not just the builds themselves, but also into the reasoning behind it all, truly sets you apart. Really epic! All of the custom builds with the amount of integration through surfaces and the use of anarchy and whatnot, makes watching these series so entertaining.

Been waiting for a new Riverview video! Something i hadn't thought about until now is how now I can't think of a single context where you'd import services or resources. The new econ update was huge for adding some much needed difficulty but I maintain that it's reduced the number of ways you're allowed to play the game/build diverse cities

@ 51:00 in my city the engineering students and architecture students designed some of the infrastructure near campus you could imagine maybe a student competition lead to the crazy looking bridges for lore

I'm starting to think a "realistic" metro line could be useful, there are some cities in the US that have 1 or two, but haven't really expanded from there (Minneapolis/St. Paul, Baltimore, etc). It doesn't have to be extensive, but providing connections across the river could be good and would integrate well with the transit hub I think!

The empty lot on the other side of the technical university could be student housing. A single developer dense style that probably was advertised as "the future urbanism" when it was builded 20-30 years ago

I can't stop thinking about how useless that radio telescope is gonna be with all of that interference from the university/the city/etc. In real life, they are usually built suuuuper far away and the towns that have them ban cell phones/other transceivers to prevent interference XD I would imagine its not a real one or not one that is used for serious radio astronomy; perhaps for the students of the university to learn and study EDIT: oh yeah XD maybe i should finish the episode before commenting :)

The seemingly wonky express bus route that the game threw at you is likely the _fastest_ as opposed to the shortest, which meant it likely that was the "cheapest" in terms of overall cost factors. Comfort also comes into play with it likely having fewer intersections (house driveways count as intersections as do other roads crossing/joining). But yours seems the likeliest in terms of actual planning. Be nice to catch a ride-along in a later vid, from Riverview Hub to Riverview Tech...

word of caution on using mio roads-sometimes they cause really really bizarre lane connections when they connect to other roads-I ran into a situation where my busses were caught in an endless loop and could not reach their destination, with no warnings about connectivity at the stops. Caused lots of not enough employee flags until I figured it out by happenstance. So always always use the traffic mod to double check the lane connections and fix as needed. Also, if you were to use for example the 9 lane mio road to make an asymmetrical end to an 8 lane road, use traffic mod to check the space where the 8 and 9 lane converge to be sure it's not doing anything weird there either.

Perfect. Now I'm a technical professional, I live in a big house near the highway (I can't sleep very well 'cause the noise). But the main problem is that my children got to be educated by RU-vidrs because the Mayor doesn't provide us enough school covering. Im starting to think to move out to another city...

Very very nice ! I'm happy that the update didn't broke pure and simple the save. Also, i agree on putting the Radiotelescope research station on higher plateau. It's how it is for telescopes and stuff like that because of all parasite emissions and light pollutions. Don't try to go too much on the residential demands, don't forget that a lot of people lack jobs currently.

Can you build a large metropolitan district with lots of high rises with your demands.Make a New York on the main island. Also I think an inner city motorway would be good. Also I think you should add keys to the edge of the river

Love your videos! There is a homeless spiral bug. Homeless people don't leave the city and the residential demand won't rise because they won't occupy the free houses. Also there are workers coming from outside of the city who are also homeless and they'll take up workplaces, so the citizen won't have any jobs for paying rent and will going homeless. There is a mod for fixing this problem. Another workaround is setting up a 0 ticket price route out of the city.

The workaround of setting up a free public transport line out of the city only works if you additionally remove all the parks from your city.

Enjoyable watch as always. You might consider building a dormitory complex at/near the tech univ with High Density low income buildings and an adjacent athletic complex. Then you can get rid of those hideous basketball courts on the univ grounds. Those things are eyesores.

You should add high density commercials too at the downtown city centre to balance the high density residential. Also make offices on the empty space near the university

Midrise dormitories would fit nice next to university in the empty slot. Maybe even some high-rise interconnected complex of those in some brutalism style given the looks of 70s-80s.

I think you should keep an eye on where you put trees and bushes close to intersections and roundabouts. Some of them might block the view of drivers and would cause accidents IRL. For example, on the roundabout on Linden Express, under the pedestrian bridges and where the bus lanes connect to the street next to the parking lots.

Love your work bro, just small advice when terraforming, realistically you wouldn't lower the ground for a building as this can cause issues like flooding. Since behind the technical university is a mountain, it's going to flood when it rains or when snow thaws. Well, realistically speaking. :)

I’m curious to see how the unoccupied building thing corrects itself. Unfortunately I had the same problem in a new city post patch. It never went away even after hours of leaving the game running full speed on idle. The only fix I found was installing the bye bye homeless mod

The radio telescope should be some place away from the city, like up on a mountain or something. IRL radio telescopes are often in the middle of nowhere to avoid interference from human sources.

45:34 the barriers don't make sense this way. They are on the left side but on the parkin Lot is the traffic on the right side. So you have to drive the wrong way to take a ticket for the parking Lot. Also for exiting the parking Lot you have to exit your car because you probably sit on the left side but the machine is on the right. 48:00 I think instead of even the area between the TU and the Linden Express, it would look nice if you flaten it on the level of the TU and use keywalls at Linden Express down to the TU. Would give it a little more a unique look in my opinion.

The citizens of New Chelsea are still waiting on their petition with getting a rapid transit connection. With the new technical university they now propose a metro or train line from downtown and out to the new technical university!

The roundabout at 23:00 would be a medium. The small is so small that in real life, cars would barely slow down. This would not serve an important function of the roundabout, i.e, increasing safety.

Dont forget to bulldoze and regrow all the old offices, especially the skyscrapers! the econ patch broke offices where they only have 5 workers. This greatly reduces software output and artificially boosts office demand.

Excellent video is always, it brings me great joy to see Riverview back! I'm loving how well you melded the campus into the map. -, it looks really natural. But I can't help but think how a** it would be to be a student there, there's like nothing to do full stop These students need some shops or something. My guy. And also, if you have any high density residential demand after building those killer Skyscraper downtown, you can fill up that leftover space with some student housing. This is America, so the universities house all their students and big a** commmie blocks. The grammar in this is gonna be s*** I don't even care., this is the phone.This is the phone diction tool. At around 16:00 minutes, how do you keep the nodes you're moving "locked" so they only move up and down? Whenever I use the manipulation mode to move them, my nodes don't align as nicely because I tend to move them slightly off to the sides. Is it just practice that makes it look so easy to move those nodes and have them "locked/snapping"? 😅

Are you using the MIO road asset extension mod? If so how are you using it? I have used it in one of my larger cities that I just moved into Econ 2.0 but all the MIO assets are white and the game crashes as soon as I try to touch those assets.

Hey pls answer, why is your game not having any flickering shadow issues? in my game, the shadow even at high has this terrible stuttering shadow that becomes extra noticeable when moving the camera.

Why are there so many cars stopping along the bottom road and on the bridge at 1:05:35 ? Doing weird merging stuff or something, because I don't believe there's a traffic light there.
