The Rav is an amazing little car!! I have a bone stock 97 RAV4 and it will do a 2nd gear burn out and will do 85 in third gear! I’ve also jumped it and had it buried to the frame in sand and she’s still alive and rippin!!

I'm a nobody that recently reached out to Papadakis to inquire about the specs of the Rav4 as I have a similar 3SGTE swapped 4 door Rav4 with a Celica GT Four gear box that I'm building into a rally vehicle. He was super nice to help me with some advice. Super cool

Your Fj is actually the most capable in the dunes, I have driven alot of offroad rig in the dunes and the Fj is if I may say the perfect balance, between weight and power. The only difference between your fj and our fj set up here is the tires, we use a more street tire than offroad tires. The famous brand here is the geolandar G015

This was an awesome video. Now it's time for a before and after fj detail video. How do you get all the sand out?

For stock FJ wheels, we go 12psi front, 10 psi rear to avoid pop out. For bead lock you can go between 7 to 9 psi depending on how soft the sand is

heres a tip for those that want to try.. when off roading , thumbs up. you dont want to have your thumb facing the wrong way when in Glamis.. thats a whole lot of time to be in pain before you can get help. dam n that diesel... cant believe that tank actually floats.... insane.. also .. wouldnt mind building a rav 4 from the ground up.. but monies are much needed. maybe just go for a mini pajero instead.,.

I am predicting that SUVs start growing in more popularity this year with the modifying sub culture. I think we are all starting to realize that after much time, effort and money we’d like that to result in a vehicle that can do more than dodge lanes and look good.

More speed larry glamis is all about momentum I've taken fwd sedans out there you just need to slow down for the transition from down hill to up hill the transitions over bowl to bowl are more scary then dangerous just commit there's gonna be ground over there

Golden rules. Don't fight gravity, Don't use break when going side slope, if your wheel running you are good. When you feel the car start to drift on the side slope tap tap tap the throttle. Try to drive on 4L 3rd & 4th gear.

I own a 2007 Toyota fj cruiser i also installed a Magnuson supercharger now i upgrade my coil packs to ripp PERFORMANCE COIL PACKS what a huge difference in acceleration if more aggressive

I could tell by how rough the terrain feels in the car that the tyre pressure is still too high.. definitely could have blown the down alittle more. The Fj is the best dune car in the world.

The RAV4 has the big advantage of the super low weight and COG, he could go sidehilling and step on the brakes if he wants and that thing won't roll over, the FJ Cruiser is far more capable on the dunes than the RAV4, it has a lockable rear diff and the transfer case is split 50/50 (the RAV4 is an AWD transfer case, he needs momentum on the dunes, plus it has no low range), it just need smaller tires with maybe a more negative offset wheels and a LSD front differential, the Ford guy is the bravest because if that truck broke down in the dunes there's no way you can drag him out of there. Also an FJ Cruiser on 35's and with some beadlock wheels you can go easy on 4-5 psi on the tires, and the difference in traction compared with 10 psi is amazing
