Agree with Mike 100%. First, I love love the term wackadoo- I use it often. And the coach IS a buffoon. Not just because of his coaching but his childish behavior on the sidelines and in postgame pressers.
I think that Jalen Hurts is a good QB, but every time he opens his mouth he makes a complete fool of himself. I believe that Mike was right in his “spaceman” comment. I’m not necessarily trying to take up for Nick Sirianni as much as say that it’s more of an indictment on Jalen Hurts’ social skills or lack thereof. My friend and I were saying that the Eagles should have sent him to a public speaking class this offseason because talking to the media is part of his job and he’s just atrocious at it. To quote my friend “he’s inarticulate at best”.
Mike, Hurts is not a good communicator to the public. After listening to maybe or three press conferences, I stopped listening to them. His lips move and a cliche comes out.
I agree, I don't think Hurts and Sirianni have good chemistry. To me, Hurts has gotten annoyed with Nick's inability to control his emotions and to avoid talking trash and getting the other team all juiced up. Sirianni running his mouth is something the players have to answer for, and that can wear on guys, especially when the coach they're going to battle for is more middle manager than football coach.
Darren, your take is interesting. Someone should have asked a follow-up. I guess they don't want to be seen as questioning the relationship this early. Who knows. But I think Jalen often says words but really doesn't communicate well.
Jalen better get his head out his you know what or they'll both be gone. Say what you want to, but everyone has apparently moved on from last year except him. Had Jalen and his buddy BJ stayed on point Sirianni wouldn't have had to get involved. Dopes!
