Edgeimacation, here in Maine USA the measure of firewood is heavily regulated by the govmint. There are actually fines assessed for not delivering proper measure, I mean you have to have messed up repeatedly to be fined.
There was a lot of different people selling an IBC Cage 1000L filling it measured to the top losse . And selling it as a 1/3 of a cord.. it just annoys me that lots of people are getting ripped off every.day by people like that..
@@buckinfirewood we have “competition” that scam and steal the same way as they do in your area. Honesty isn’t the norm in business nowadays. We do our very best to deliver an accurate measure. When we have had a customer complain about quality or quantity and we feel they are wrong. We correct the situation to satisfy the customer and then put a ❌ on their name and never deliver to them again. But, If we feel we truly missed the mark, we correct the problem , plus a little for their troubles. Some people just complain about everything. I swear if you handed some people a free $100 bill they would complain it was wrinkled..
This is true.. this is why we are changing the way we sell wood... we just need our disc cleaner so we can start running our adds.. but we definitely need to give proper amounts to keep our prices down.. doing it this way I've discovered we were giving away about 60 bucks worth of wood for every 5 cords.. days we did 3 deliveries we gave 180 bucks worth of wood per day..
I don't know how that question will help anyone. You can test it by experimentation but there is another way. Do a search for how many cubic feet of loose wood equals 1 cord of stacked wood. Based on that you can get a conversion factor going one way or the other way. Measure the IBC tote to get the cubic feet. Use the conversion factor to find out the part of a cord that you have loose in one tote. I think we need to sell loose wood to cut down the labor. I can figure it for you if you tell me the size of the tote and how many cubic feet of loose wood is in one cord. Based on those two figures, it is only math to find out how much of a cord it is. Instead of putting 1/3 or 1/4 of a cord into it I think it would make more sense to fill it full and then say how much it is. Then multiple that by the price for the amount due, as is done in the grocery store.
I was on Facebook the other day and I noticed a lot of people selling wood like this "loose IBC 1000 L Cage" and calling it a facecord.. to answer your question its them this video was intended for.. to answer your other question an IBC 1000L cage will hold 0.7142857143 of a facecord
A loose cord measurement is not always accurate, it’s more of approximate amount. 180 cu ft loose cord of 16” length pieces tossed in randomly. But it’s all in how the pieces fall into place. Different length pieces will have different loose cord cu ft amounts. Better to stack the firewood out and don’t advertise by the face cord unless you specify the cut length of the pieces. 12”, 14”, 16”, etc…. Because a face cord of 12” firewood is only 1/4 cord where a face cord of 16” is a 1/3 of cord. 🪵😎

The obvious mistake that you are making in your comment is that you are not identifying the volume of the face cord. To get the volume of a face cord it is necessary to specify the length of the pieces (which you did not do).. Saying "face cord" just causes confusion. Measure your wood in cords and not face cords. If it is 0.57 cords, say it is 0.57 cords. Some people like to cause confusion about how much wood they are really selling. Do not be one of those people.
@@killinskindlingfirewood1851 You sound like you know what you are talking about. Because short wood will fit more easily it takes less cubic feet per cord.
Read what you want on line but the fact is the only way to figure it out or atleast be close is to try it for yourself.. looks like that 60 cubic foot per loose cord was tried once and now is the norm out there.. but the fact is you need to measure what you put in to get the real answer... and that's how we do it here.. when the disc cleaner comes it will change the amount of wood per IBC Cage.. my guess is it will take 8 cages to get to 5 cords.. but we won't know this till we try a true measured cord of wood..
