Will Osperay almost break character after he won the belt,he was covering his face with his hands and then ring corner,he was almost about to cry on his win.
What a match. As a fellow Englishman who lives only 16 miles away from where Ospreay was born (Rainham in Essex) I don’t think I’ve been happier to see someone win a world title, I was on my knees in front of the screen. The most beautiful woman in the world could have walked into my house and I would have completely ignored her.
I guess this may be an appropriate time for me to ask this question, since, as a Brit, I have no idea about it. As Havering was part of Essex (in which Rainham situates for those who have no idea), but is now a borough of London, is it simply a case of refusing to acknowledge the change and that Havering is and always will be a part of Essex? I imagine this is also why Ospreay is billed from Essex and not London. Edit: I feel like I have answered my own question but clarification would be great.
@@mr.tonywilliams1236 asking you questions Mr.Tony Williams, what the new IWGP World Heavyweight Champion the Commonwealth Kingpin will ospreay says revenge for what happened at wrestle Kingdom 15 in Tokyo Dome night 1 on January 4th 2021 and Scream Okada?
I actually like that Kota lost, he was so busy trying to convince everyone that combining the IWGP titles together was a good idea and that he wasn’t betraying everyone by doing so, that when the time came to defend it, seems like his mind wasn’t focused enough on defending the new title with all his spirit. Basically he got to close to the sun and got burned.
@@nonamer0o016 I’m sure Kota had his own real opinions on the combing the titles. I’m talking about kayfabe wise why I think him as a character lost in his first defense
Hmmm, thought Ibushi would be champ til at least late summer/early fall. But hey congrats to Ospreay: From junior heavyweight champ to heavyweight champ!
Congrats to Will. It was two years ago when a lot of people said he couldn't become a heavyweight and win the title. A bit sad it took so long, but well deserved. Also a bit sad it came at the expense at Kota Ibushi's more deserved run.
Imagine being a transitional champion for a belt YOU wanted to create... Ibushi just became the biggest scrub in New Japan. All that talk about unifying the titles and when Ibushi finally did it... he loses on the first defense? Probably gonna mean a typical comeback arc coming for him. Happy for Ospreay on the other hand. The rematch with Taikagi is gonna be fire. Funny moment at 4:43, though. Takagi be like, "YOINK!" My mic now!"
This is getting interesting. UE is the hottest stable in NJPW, and with how much they’ve built up Shingo, you now have several guys that would make great challengers or champions down the line. This is gonna be fun.
I hope they give Osprey a good run. I still think Okada and Ibushi are the best in the world, but I want Osprey to have a good run with the United Empire. They deserve it and Henare and Cobb are just sick.
@@JOHN.hennry yep, probably most solid 4-man faction on wrestling scene these days. props to njpw they really knows how to reintroduce their talent to the fans they just looks so menacing together
@@Highwhyman19 I agree. They look great together. When the confetti fell on them and they all stood there posing, I was in awe. These guys are great. NJPW is genius too. In one night they completely changed Toa Henare to Aaron Henare and it worked, just like that. That is real talent on everyone. Crazy!
Ibushi becomes the ultimate meta heel in the eyes of the fans by retiring the lineage of two beloved titles, and loses the new championship in its first defense. CLEAN! 🤣
Wow, i was expecting Ospreay to become World champion by the rest of the year but not this quick. This was impressing. Been following Ospreay since he was more skinny , now hes truly a Heavyweight star with his own stable. Time flies
Man, Ospreay is now on the moon. The guy just has a star power aura. NJPW just knows how to create legit feeling stars. I'm sorry that Ibushi's reign didn't last a little bit longer, but at the very least it was memorable.
April 4th will forever be the day England beat Japan for there Top Prize The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. I remember watching Will Ospreays fued with Jimmy Fn Havoc for the Progress Heavyweight Title, I remember watching all his Matches Live on RU-vid with WCPW and being the Work horse of that company but he put people over even though he was there most famous British Wrestler, His matchs on TV with World Of Sports and of course all his Work in New Japan. From being Hand Picked by Okada, Winning BOTSJ, Winning the Jr Heavyweight Title, Becoming New Japans New Best Bout Machine after Omega left, Never Openweight Champion and proving he can hang with the Heavyweights, Becoming The Ace of The Jrs, British Rev Pro Heavyweight Champion before the Lockdown in the UK, New Japan Cup winner and now this. This make me so Proud to be British and we can all say and NNEEEWWWW IWGP WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.....WILL OSPREAY 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
How to make the United Empire a unstoppable dominant faction 1. Will Osprey: IWGP World Heavyweight Champion ✅ 2. Aaron Henare: NEVER Openweight Champion 3. Great-O-Khan and Jeff Cobb: IWGP Tag team Champions
Exactly , for all the video I was thinking the same ; Cobb is in the best shape of his life and should be on the championship talk , he isn’t a sidekick guy .
@@lahirugardhihewage7921 that is exactly what his face says, he’s probably thinking “I literally beat this dude at MSG” so I’m guessing after Okada it’ll be those two
Man, I can't believe they took the belt off Ibushi that fast. His path to the title was so amazing, he deserved a longer reign in my opinion, not that Ospreay isn't great himself.
Osprey has definitely deserved this title win. We all know how hard Will has been working on his craft. Not only has he been working on it for years, but with some of the great international talents in many different promotions all round the world. This title win has been a LONG TIME coming.
I'll be honest I didn't expect ospreay to win the title here I was expecting Ibushi to have a longer run. But Ospreay definitely deserves this. Edit: is Ospreay saying he wants to enjoy a little bit of the bubbly a Chris Nericho reference or am I just reading too much into that?
Well that's how NJPW is, you never know what happen next! For eg. everyone expected Jay White to win against David Finlay but Finlay win and last year everyone expected Kota Ibushi to win Heavyweight championship but Naito won the big!
Two years ago Seth Rollins twitted trolling Ospreay,“Ohhh sorry little guy we got the better version of you(Ricochete) who just won the us title" Now Will Ospreay is holding the most prestigious title of wrestling industry. But Ricochete is jobbing in wwe. Want to know what Seth got to say about it 😂😂
New Japan Pro Wrestling has been #1 for awhile now its crazy how intense but funny and charismatic it's overall product is throughout the storylines 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🏆
First off, Will Osprey. I cannot put in words how I'm happy he's the new IWGP world champion. As much as I'm an Ibushi fan, seeing Osprey win the big one was amazing. Secondly, I'm glad that New Japan is giving a lot of the talent a chance to be in the main event mix. Unlike other promotions who keep giving fans the same main event 3 PPV straight. Shingo is growing on me as being in the world title picture. His match in the New Japan Cup really impressed me. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Hopefully, Osprey's title reign lasts for a while. Ibushi, in my opinion, put his damn foot in his mouth. Ibushi kept saying I want to unify the titles and make a new legacy without thinking that he was going to be beaten 2 weeks after the new belt arrives. I hope he can rebound from this whole thing seems confusing. Kota did all these proclamations about bring together the heavyweight belts just to lose.
I hear what everyone is saying but can someone name a match when will ospreay beat Kenny Omega in a singles match???? THAT makes you the best by beating the rest.
Still can't believe Ospreay actually won. Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy he did, I think he is completely deserving of the belt, and his character work has been really good, it's just, I expected Ibushi's reign to be far longer.
@@dontpanic4786 That's when he was with NJPW. no more Ishii, Tanahashi, and Okada. The last 5 star omega had was with Moxley I believe, I'm not watching AEW so correct me. Kenny can't produce the same quality matches he had when he was with NJPW, maybe because there's no one who can match Kenny's ring work.
@@dontpanic4786 and Actually Ospreay had the most 5 star since 2019, from BOSJ to G1 till now. Dude's on the roll, deserved this. Unfortunately, injury 🤧
@@mr.strawberry872 Kenny has had a couple 5 star matches in AEW LOL You said it yourself you dont watch the product so how can you say no one can match his ring work..
Thats why njpw suck. They cant tell story. 2 years fighting become a god then lose against Jr in 3 month. New Jobber Pro Wrestling cant make huge star. They only know how to beat up each other in a match. No wonder everyone is exhaust and injured. Lol
@@rymbille But remember NJPW doesn't focus on scripts or story lines only great wrestling and the wrestlers have control on who they want to wrestle besides THE NEW JAPAN CUP and THE G1 CLIMAX
I called it two weeks ago and I was right. Twitter was sent into a temper tantrum when he pinned Ibushi to win the belt. Long live the United Empire. #WillOspreayIsYourChampion
This is really terrible booking. Kota had a 2 year build to that title. He took all the heat for the unification (in storyline and irl) and now he drops it in the first defense? Unless Kota is leaving the company. This makes 0 sense to do right now.
@@MrThundaro i gotta agree, i definitely think Ospreay should’ve won the belt down the line but Ibushi got the rug pulled from under him and it was honestly sad seeing as the fans turned on him for something out of his control. I still am happy for Ospreay but this just caught me off guard.
@@MrThundaro actually, it makes perfect sense. Kota beaten all potential challengers (Okada, shingo, sanada, niato, Cobbs) but Will's story with Okada isn't finished and his matches with shingo are always attention grabbing and new japan is opposite wwe aka GIVE YOUNG WRELTERS ATTENTION and the potential matches for it with tanahashi, Naito, Jay White, Suzuki, and Kenny Omega if they tie in the forbidden door story and have Omega return to find his boyfrie- I mean golden lover being abused by the United empire which would build more for Kenny Omega's quest to copy ultimo dragon by collecting all world titles. You see: you my friend need to think long term like Gedo and Tony Kahn
@@MrThundaro terrible booking? Technically speaking he won both original championships at the Tokyo dome in January and defended them three separate times before they were officially unified into this one championship. Even though this is technically a brand-new championship he's still technically been a champion since January and has been a damn good one. Losing the title in his technically speaking 4th defense doesn't hurt him. He'll probably win it back after the G1. I say after because Shingo looks to be the next Challenger and then Ospreay will defend against Okada and I doubt either one of them will be winning the championship.
@@dey6942 something out of his control? He was literally the only person in the company that wanted the titles Unified! He pushed and pressured for that shit for months even before winning the damn G1. There was nothing out of his control about it. He wanted this and he caught heat for it from just about everyone. Now we're stuck with an ugly ass Championship replacing two beautiful ones.
Ibushi JUST got the belt changed and now it's gone. Wow. :D I got to watch the whole thing. What's awesome though is Osprey doesn't feel like a true Champion yet, not until he beats Okada.
This will be exciting to see. I can see it unravel already. Cobb will take that belt We saw Shino v Osprey already at the BOSJ back in 19 Where's Bea lol Excited to see this again, they tore it up
Omg they finally are running with Ospreay. Although, I still like the design of the old IWGP Heavyweight/Intercontinental belts. Sad to see Ibushi lose the belt after a couple defenses, dude probably deserves it more than anyone else, but that's what happens when you fly too close to the sun. Maybe Ibushi to AEW to reunite with Kenny Omega?
@@MrThundaro Basically 1 month reign not 3 months reign Don't forget iwgp world heavyweight championship created one month ago His reign with both iwgp heavyweight and ic title got erased so you shouldn't count that reign
Will Ospreay made history by becoming the 4th Jr. Heavyweight (Nobuhiko Takada 1st, Keny Omega 2nd, Kota Ibushi 3rd) & 2nd British Heavyweight Champion (AJ Styles 1st) winning the IWGP Havyweight Champioship in NJPW. i feel back for Ricochet because he's a jobber now and Seth Rollins twitter post did not aged well.

I think the CEO of United Empire is oka tomoyuki himself. Maybe the founder of this faction is still electrifying promo. Not much for okada not speak. But shingo is still thrilled to be iwgp himself.
I don’t watch a lot of NJPW so just watching Ospreay cut this very passionate heel promo and the fans just clapping quietly and respectfully whatever that means makes me laugh 😂
