The Chinese in particular, and majority of the global nations have the least trust the current US Regime and US is a declining nation. The trust & respect have been eroded so much in last 5 years that it would take years to repair and many good faith meetings to get bilateral relationship back to normal, let alone to be better in the future. 😊

Like, why would you blame the seller for selling the thing you asked him for? If they want to curb the fentanyl problem, they just need to stop importing it; be more strict with drug laws; increase security agaisnt drug dealers. This is just a childish blaming game.

Promoting hatred won't help.

For the relationship to improve the US needs to adjust its America Exceptionalism paradigm. This at least includes change of policies to stop/suppress development of near peer competitors, even at the business entity level. It also needs to stop threatening regime change, even military actions to other countries. A solid beginning is to stop building oversea military bases and stop supplying weapons to Taiwan. This current meeting, preceded by many US officials' visits to China, is just a show to say that the US is trying very hard to avoid war with China. If war occurs, which I believe the US is still actively preparing, it is China's fault. China is responding with the same aims.

It's difficult to trust US when it keeps violating agreements whenever it wants, especially the Taiwan issue. At the end of the videoI was distracted by the lovely cat.

I think this meeting is important because both countries see potential military risks between them and need to communicate on couples of things. 1 is Taiwan Election. 2 is US Election. 3 is potential war expansion in Mid East. At least they both shows to each other that no one want war and need more cooperation.

The fentayl issue is pointless. Let's just say, we get to some ideal world, and all fent precusors get stopped or intercepted. Well, then the cartels will just switch to something else. The problem is that addictive drugs exist and the US does not have a rational policy for dealing with them. There are hundreds of other countries out there that don't have this problem. Why not figure out what they are doing?

I think US politicians are constantly electioneering and not doing what they should be doing. I used to watch MSNBC and they were talking about the 2024 presidential election 3 years ago. Here in glorious Albion we give polititions 6 weeks to do their electioneering and that is it. The BBC gives each party the same amount of coverage and to my mind are unbiased. We do not have anchormen giving their own opinion on politics (that is illegal in the BBC government charter). Aren't Americans totally bored with the whole election thing. I mean both parties are the same are they not?

A useless meeting

The Fentanyl issue is a non-starter. It's like asking the Japanese car manufacturers to stop supplying vehicles to the U.S. because the robbers like to use Japanese cars to carry out the heists because they can getaway faster than other makes. China sells the raw materials on the open market, they certainly can't control how these Mexican drug cartels what to do with them. The U.S. should increase its anti-narcotics law enforcement in order to stop people taking Fentanyl.
