I never thought I would say this but I am keen to see a few teams from the Saudi Pro League play each other. Al Ahli Saudi and Al Hilal look great so far.
The reality is simple if you know what research is then it is simple to know why the players are going to saudi as it clearly shows in what saudi pro league players are earning every season.
@@bernie5951 no what i meant is that Saudi with time will develop and they have the chance to take the lead…no one thought UAE will ever be a tourism country and yet see now where is Dubai…why you guys are scared
Good video buddy, however let me correct few of misleading points you mentioned: 1- Saudi league viewers 2M/Season is absolutely Wrong! 2- La Liga, Seria A and Bundesliga are not popular because the competition is always between arguably two clubs if not dominated by one, Boring leagues. While Saudi’s competition is always between 4-5 clubs which is the case in Premier league Top 6!
Saudis are ambitious, but not unrealistic. We never claimed to aim to be better or even close to the PL. The goal is to be top 10 by 2030, and hopefully staying there for the foreseeable future. As for the fans, even without Europeans, there is a large market to capture in Asia and Africa. This is only the beginning.
@msharialhammam6240 Look we will watch our European football we don't care about rest ok mybe a bit South American or MLS but you have to explain Asians and Africans to stop support our clubs 😄 and support yours
@oOmhstrOo In your dreams and nobody cares in Europe about that competition anyway but I know everyone hates clubs clubs like Man City Chesea Barca and Real Madrid
For me it's worth to watch Banzema vs Ronaldo, Gerrard what he will do with Ettifaq? Against big names, Mahrez and Firmino Against Alnassr or alhilal, ittihad When you think about it, it's worth it
The English Premier League is pumping huge amounts of money into players, prizes, and infrastructure. The Saudi League is improving significantly. They will certainly pump money and improve the infrastructure as well, and it will become one of the best leagues. It is currently a good and competitive league.
The next step would be for a gulf super league, with the best teams from Qatar, Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Bahrain and jordan, all of whom have players of similar standards. There would be added wealth and rivalry
We Europeans watch European footbal for last 120 years and we will continue to watch We dont need fans outside Europe to watch European leagues we dont care about them
THANK YOU ABOUT THE ENGLISH PART. I can't find the SPL anywhere in English (in the USA) for pay or not. There was a few games streamed on an SPL twitter handle but then it stopped.
I am surprised you compared the Saudi's to Premier League. It is to early to kaoe such a comparison. This show that Saudis are on the right track to compete with the best. Jit should be mentioned theough that the vision for the Saudi league to be among top 5, which seems achievable.
Premier league is the greatest than the Saudi league, why? If premier league is only one country the wealth is higher than country Kosovo and tajakistan also Angola. It gives higher GDP for UK, unlike Saudi who is transferring big players to there league but the power of football is based on those huge names only, so if ronaldo moving to other clubs it has huge uncertainty of fame for Saudi league. It has huge difference between having great players who get payed actually and between having influential league. Huge gap
The government of Saudi Arabia has a financial advantage over European governments. Most European governments have budget deficits while the Saudis have a surplus of cash. The Saudis want to use their advantage to grow their domestic league by buying superstar players from big leagues in Europe and that can have terrible outcomes. Big clubs in Europe have academies and other foundation structures for football development, this is the reason why there is continuity in their leagues. If Saudi Arabia is focusing only on buying superstars while they don't have proper academies, their Pro League clubs will implode. The Premier League in England has attracted many talented players from all over the world, that popularised the Premier League without diminishing the quality of the product. The England national team is also playing good football. Spanish clubs bought superstars from other leagues into La Liga and it worked for them because the structures and institutions are there, they backed it up by delivering good football on the pitch. The FIFA World XI players were from Spanish clubs, the Spanish national team was unbeatable and unplayable for a long time. If the Saudis are on the right path, Saudi Arabian football clubs should dominate Asian football in the coming 2 - 3 years and perform satisfactorily in the FIFA Club World Cup. That is how we will know if they tried to take short cut or not, money does not always get the desired outcomes.
The PL know the importance of having full stadiums with a great atmosphere. Check the stats the Saudi league isn't even as big as league 1 (the 3rd tier of English football), the Saudi league averaged 9K attendance last season compared to 10K in league 1. The biggest club Al-Hilal averaged 9,541 last season, that's less than non league club Wrexham. (Note: Appreciate Al-Hilal had 59K last week but most of the clubs still can't break 10K). Can't see how matches played in half empty small athletics stadiums will capture the imagination. My prediction is the league will attract millions of views from Arab countries but it will be too alien and contrived for more traditional Western powerhouse countries. However any efforts to expand the game in new markets is welcome, wish Saudi (and the MLS for that matter) every success and will be interesting to see how this experiment progresses.
Check out the average attendance in the Portuguese league and Turkish league. 11.6K and 12.2k. The Saudi league is 10.2k. And it’s just the beginning as well. And true only like 5/6 ish teams have decent attendance but that’s just how it is in most leagues. Laliga doesn’t even triple the saudi league and it’s been the greatest league in the last decade. But yeah the premier league is at a different level. But viewership wise what was mentioned in the video can’t be correct. The Saudi league has 2.080 million attendees last season not viewers lol and with the likes of Ronaldo playing you can only imagine how many Asian football fans and African and from all over the world would be watching. Because most of The fans of European football are outside of Europe.
Football culture my butt … Saudi league has already surpassed all European leagues this season .. am enjoying watching the Saudi top four way more than the EPL top four
That’s because it’s a retirement league. It’s like saying a nursing home has more residents with medals from the war than the average household. Because it’s full of veterans bro not because it’s the most talented league ahahaha
@ryanchant6861 With all due respect, so is the Saudi league. And yeah, of course, Europe and South America are the core football areas, no doubts about that. They will always dominate in terms of quality football.
Where do you get your stats?! Saudi league total viewership was 2 million for the whole season!! Hilal vs Nasser or Hilal vs Ittihad gets more than 2 million viewers per game
@@misfittoy4078you should follow highlights from SPL official Channel not English Channels that show highlights . You can see enormous highlights with million viewers
Hold on Been crazy about football since 98 i was only watching saudi league and calcio(seria) ,then 2004 starts watching BPl since then I have never watch a game in prem between smaller teams but every game with at least 1 papular team , now the same will happened every football fan will watch when one of the teams with big stars playing. It will take time but not that long, at the end we want to enjoy football no matter where.
It won't be better than EPL or even Laliga in the next 50 or more years. But I won't be surprised if in 5 years I say, I would rather watch the SPL rather than France League or even the German League.
Continental competition is a right for everyone. Also, we will see more development of football, and the emergence of players and international leagues. Football is not for monopoly, by the way, the population of the Middle East and Arabs is close to one billion. Remember the World Cup in the coming years will be more excited. Let's be with the Saudi League for the football game. And we must encourage Saudi Arabia to this contribution.
They should be able to create a league of their own..money has ruined the game though. Whether you earn 100k a week or 900k a week it really doesn't matter. Money is nothing when you die..everyone is equal.
Great video 👍. Just need to point out that “saudi gets 2 million views per season is not accurate” there are single games in saudi that get that many viewers.
I really love epl and no league can beat them for now but what Saudi needs to do is go on a countrywide tour popularizing soccer even more and doing more research by identifying if football is still in Saudis hearts thus laying a strong foundation domestically. Then being professional by honouring contracts of all players not just big names. Then pushing for worldwide acceptance by providing quality viewership and also affordable complete with best English speaking commentators. On world fans especially in my country Kenya Saudi will have a hard times coz my people have this weakness, when they love something they go all in and trash talk any potential rivals thus why politicians finds it simple to brainwash us. It's very simple to brain wash Kenyans, just make sure they are hooked and you are set. And finally, Saudi don't be fooled that you must have the best academy, Barca and epl have but they are forever buying big stars instead of growing. Success only needs best players, good managers, big money and a football culture plus being very professional which Arabs lacks due to being cocky coz of natural money which they have in plenty. Thanks!!
You are right about everything except the talented Arabs. We have a lot of talented Arabs and you will see that when the Saudi League starts. You will see very interesting Arabs, and the reason for their lack of fame is because they prefer to stay in the Saudi League for many reasons. Also, the most important Saudi has opened academies to attract more talented Saudi players and make the league depend on our players more than the stars.
I will never understand how can those pessi fanboy think MLS is better than Saudi league or even called saudi league to “🐪 league” The player quality are way way better than MLS like you can’t even compare with both
@@JJOHNNY7kazandjian-rg6kp nil since Messi joined 😂😂😂 btw what happened with Al Nassr since ronaldo joined, they were on top when he joined and finished at 2nd place when season ended.. Ronaldo's completed the mission successfully 😂😂😂
I don't agree with many points you mentioned in this video. 1. European leagues are better because they have a football crazy fan base. The population of Saudi is divided between many games. 2. Saudi league are still mostly signing old players and rejects from Europe. 3. What happens when ronaldo retires? Who's actually gonna watch that league. Even with ronaldo Al Nassr had 1/10th of viewers of an average EPL game, I don't even know how many people watch games of lesser known teams. 4. The money they are spending right has to stop one day because at the end of the day it's a business, can they still match salaries of eruopean clubs after 5 years when all the big name signing retire? 5. We all have an example of China, a country which has the highest dollar reserves (6 times of saudi) but even they couldn't implement the sports washing technique.
it took roughly 150 years for the premier to arrive where it is now and you believe that another average league can take a shortcut of a few years to beat the premier league just by recruiting a bench of good players who are at the end their career?
They used to say the Prem will never be close to Serie A. Who in their right mind would choose gloomy wet Britain over sunny Italy, with its rich football history? We know what happened next.
Wholly uninterested in watching the Saudi league myself, no matter who plays there. It's not about players, it's about being a supporter. But there's probably a huge market in North Africa and the Middle East to tap into. At the moment it's looking very Harlem Globetrotterish of course, although that might change if they keep pouring oil money all over the footballing world.
@@mohiburrehmangaming14 yeah because they just started developing, it takes time my guy, it may be top 10 in the next years, not in 1 day or 1 season, they already started developing, and so far, they are looking good, they already have top star players, and they have more than 140 channels around the world already. and all that was made in less than 1 year, can you imagine how will it be in ten years??, I think that it can easily be top 10 if they keep working hard and thinking smart
@@mohiburrehmangaming14 I am completely certain and sure that this arrangement is due to its lack of periodic fame. The league has great competition and fans who love football and it is the best in Asia. I am sure it will become one of the best 7 leagues in the world
It depends on what you mean by 'beat' but if we talk about viewership, it might have already surpassed Croatia league. Who watches the croatia league other than their locals?
Not a chance. If there were a scenario top 10 saudi-clubs played with top 10 PL-club, PL-club would crush them. It's not with a over the hill-star here and there. Look at Man City and the squad. Good damn even Man city C would crush any arab-club. To ask a simple question: How many average players of saudi origin are good enough for PL-clubs?
@@MrThedonheadalhilal fc beeted flamingo team and played with Real Madrid in the final of the world cub. This is with low caliper players and limited budget at that time. With the new vision the Saudis have for they league we expect it will be among the top worldwide. The target to be among top 5. The Saudis knew that they can't compete with top leagues in the near future but it seems that will be in a couple of years if they stick to the plan.
how do you know that? al nassr, alhilal, al ahli, al ittihad already has more fan base worldwide than ever, and all that is under a year, imagine how will it be in the next ten years
What are we really talking about here lol?? Football is a global sport/business Sense a little entitlement lol Some comments sound like these players "belong" to the pl lol Yknow there was a time when the pl didn't allow more than 4 foreign players on one team? Wonder why the rule changed? Now i can hardly find a British player on a team Most of the foreign players and managers were great, before they got to the pl, and they came to the pl (wait for it..) for the money!
We will make a Super league with Barcelona and Real Madrid,if they feel mad then let them pay more for the players to sign them,You guys destroyed Brazilian league and south American league but its time for someone to stop You
@@isaacalcala808 it’s the TV and Streaming money, the MLS doesn’t have a major deal, and once it happens the 32 teams will have a salary cap around 100 million dollars a season. Top to bottom, the league will be the most competitive league in the world and no promotion and relegation, and we will take 32 athletico Madrid in on league
@@bernie5951the thing is people like me who do not live in europe that have lived watching european football enjoy also saudi league. Last season I watched la liga and epl. This season watchin la liga and saudi league
Bla bla blah when you think it's impossible but you have a point on domestic competition, but saying Saudi doesn't have a football culture that's where you got it wrong. Every game success is determined by fans thus why china,Russia and USA leagues will never made it big coz their fans already have traditional sports so soccer is second to them, but in Europe, Africa and Arabs football is a religion so to end this story is to say English is the best league in the world but no one wants to be told the truth because of arrogance so let's just understand EPL coz they are scared thus why they went as far as 1880 just to intimidate us but never talked about when England last won the world cup and why it's only once ???? !!! Euro cup ????? !!!!!
