Y'all forgot who DJ JAZZY JEFF AND THE FRESH PRINCE was??!!! The Hip Hop community NEVER forgot who they are!!! And they performed my favorite song, "Brand New Funk!!" Icons and ICONIC!!! Great show!!!
Some of y'all judging this man for the wrong reasons, that era was for GOOD VIBES not savage behavior. You wasn't hearing women being call "BITCHES, HOES" in lyrics. Job well done Will & Jazzy. Y'all private life is not my concern, cause guess what? I got a life. love ya..
I am So Happy for DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince ( Will Smith)!👏🏾 And just them but All the Hip Hop Icons!🎉 50 Years is a Amazing achievement .🤩📝🖋️🎵🎶🎼📀🎤🥳
Despite everything Will has been through Im So proud of him he cant do no wrong in my eyes he's such an amazing person and I just love him and Jazzy Jeff connection after all these years my favorite part was when jazzy Jeff said he knows who he married when going through his bag 😂😂😂
At the grammy's where he wore the red jacket, Chris Rock was the announcer & him & Will hugged. Chris said, "get out of here" when Will's name was announced.
I'm so excited for Will! With everything that's been going on in the world, from Hollywood to political turmoil, I think everybody needed a temporary break from it all.❤
If WILL SMITH had not become the Hollywood Earner that he has, this 'Salute' to him at the GRAMMYS celebration of 50 Years of Hip Hop would not have happened. His talent is Pop Music as the TRUE GREATS of HIP-HOP had hit critical acclaim and commercial success before the first record. He was and is an actor who crossed over from pop rapping with DJ JAZZY JEFF. A great piece as always Graeme, x!
You don't know what your saying. Because he made hits that crossed over don't confuse him as pop. Will and Jeff are to of the best to do it .I'm from Philly and back in then Mid 80s Will was eating Mcs in Battles and Jeff won 🏆 the First New Music seminar Dj Battle.and judging by the reaction from the Crowd they were into the Music. Never put Will and Jeff in the Vinnilla ice Mc Hammer and Catagory.
@papadre70 Why are the people who are commenting so sensitive to a different viewpoint of WILL SMITH'S ranking in HIP-HOP at 50. Trust me, I'd this was 1998 when HIP-HOP was 25, WILL and JEFF were there because of their relevance then. I actually have really enjoyed BEL-AIR and Jeff's participation in it. I also know it is 2023, and there have been 25 years that WILL SMITH has primarily been an actor, a GOOD ONE at that. This got ridiculous from the start so I am bowing out.
However in the end, does it really even matter? He helped save thus globalized Hip Hop like the rest before him from obscure mediocrity. So stop living in the 20th Century past & Take Noticable Solace on that.
That certain someone talked about that certain event over a month ago while promoting her memoir with London press, but the publication only just released the interview. They asked, and she answered. But she talked about many other things in the interview as well not related to that certain event, but as the media does, they gravitated towards the more 'salacious' topic for headlines. But as someone who works in media, I would assume you understand that.
She's literally spilling all the tea in a book for financial gain. She has no problem airing out all her dirty laundry to make a few bucks. Despite the fact she's already a millionaire and filthy rich.
@joeybaseball7352 That lady ain't hurting for no damn money to where she had to write a book for financial gain. The memoir is focused on HER life and experiences, including her upbringing, career in Hollywood, mental health, friendships, and of course her marriage but not nearly as much as people who didn't read the book the would think. Very tame tea, to be honest. Will also wrote about her in his memoir because they are inextricably linked, seeing as though they've been in each other lives for 30 years. She had every right to speak and write about the status of their relationship or that certain event because they involved her and being disrespectful to her on Will's behalf is insane.
I'll never see him the same again because of his life choices but I'm glad that he went out and had a great time, I'm sure it must have been therapeutic.
I don't change my mind will Smith is corny thry who show was corny it was produced by white people on CBS get out wow the show didn't do it for me wht happened to black writers this show was corny where was snoop.where Dr dra where a lot of the supper stars jazz
And how will he be relatable today? Unless he’s coming with those bar-b-que at the family reunion anthems like ’summer time’, I don’t see it. His music will definitely be for the sheltered and seasoned senior audience.
You are correct Will and the rest of those pioneers are not relatable to today's so called hiphop music. They are not making songs about brown bootyholes and pink coochies
He doesn't even qualify! The only song that's great is" Jiggy with it"..And that's only because our Old-school song "Greatest Dancer" kicked it to greatness! Other than that I do not see him as a Hip Hop artist..
Oh let me guess, because he slapped Chris Rock? Well, at least we know when someone publicly embarrasses you or offends you, your husband just needs to sit there and do nothing about it and let you walk away looking ridiculous. You wouldn’t want him stepping up for you, would you?
Wow, you must have a born life. You just can't call the man gay. Why cause you're gay? If you don't have nothing nice to say than don't say nothing at all
