@@tonyishim2333 Nah man, there is alot of people also in Germany who are getting bullied. Just be focused on your plans, keep working on it, get some help or ideas from other people who makes RU-vid and even if you are not getting the biggest RU-vidr, you should have fun by making those. Keep your head up and don´t listen to the bullies because they are not worth it because they are jealous and failured in some point at their on life.
I had the same injury 20 years ago... the Dr. said the leg would never be 100% again it took over a year of rehab of stretching 3 x a day and walking 2 miles a day but after the second year that leg was as strong as the other and has been ever since. Just make sure the rest of your life to stretch before any physical activity and have the legs completely warmed up before any explosive moves. You will be back if you are consistent with your rehab. God Bless
Do you have any tips on proper warmup and stretching? I went straight into boxing after like half a year off and I my body was so tight I had to stop because I thought my knee was going to tear. Never had that problem until now at 23.
Gonna be hard and sucky. Follow protocol and you'll be good. You're young. Prob start hopping again 8z10 months. Maybe return to 85 to 90 percent in 2 years. Wont get much btr sadly
When I was around 10, I got told that I would never run again. I kept believing in myself. I am now 14, and I just got a 3rd place in the danish championships kayak marathon. Pain is not permanent, nothing is. Stay strong man!
Yeah man keep up the grind, I know this a different topic, but I used to have terrible asthma and was told I probably would be able to do sports but now I’m like a pretty good running back in football! And so yea... I’m just really introverted.
Damn, been watching The Prof his whole career. Sucks to see him get an injury like this. I guess it's just part of the game, though. Hoping for a speedy recovery bro!
That's why it sucks being a professional athlete. You push your body to the limits until you get injured, then you're out and your body and health is never the same again.
Swear that's LITERALLY how I knew I ruptured mines. As soon as it happened I heard Kobe's voice telling how he felt and I knew EXACTLY what happened 😥🤦🏿♂️
Yeah, those words must be really tough to hear. I suppose Doctors have to be objective though. On the other hand it doesn't mean the injury is career ending, just that he might have to make some adaptations to his game.
If professer never play again then he has to quit yt I that weak his career was ball god blessed him an his family thx professer for ur help highly want u to be in nba but ur career didn't end professer if u read this I love u man say safe
I used to watch the professor a LOT last year but I stopped watching him for a while as I started watching other RU-vidrs, but when I saw this in my recommended my heart dropped
@Douchebag Dan Insurance companies have stats on this. Basketball is by far the most common reason of serious injuries like tis. And has been for years. It's probably practiced a lot more than skateboarding i recon.
Damn. Felt bad at the end. He was literally sitting with his head down. Having said that father time catches us all. I was never the baller he was but it was still hard to come to grips with not being able to play like you used to. I'm 39 now and I go to the park and shoot around every now and then. Definitely slower and not as graceful but still fun.
Nah. You’re dead wrong. With an injury like that he’s gotta watch himself and always keep it in the back of his mind. It’s only downhill from here for him 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤣
You go to the doctor over a broken finger seriously lol iv broken every finger on my hands atleast a dozen times each and just stopped after the 3rd break there sod all they really do
Me breaks ankle Doctor:what happened Me:I was ri Doctor:its always football Me: I was riding my scooter Doctor:why the fuck was you not playing football

My mom was a gymnast and tore her Achilles, she went to teaching and still is to this day, but also still has to do stretches every morning for it over 30 years later.
I literally just tore my acl and got surgery recently so this video really helped me and made feel like I’m not alone in this recovery process. I hope you fully recover just like I hope I do god bless
Once his friend started telling the story about him feeling like he got kicked, I immediately knew it was a Achilles tear, that’s one of the tell tale signs.
All the best brother! Mr. professor will not let this keep him down long....one way or another your journey will and must continue. We need your inspiration man, sending a prayer your way Prof!
Yep. As soon as he described how it felt I knew what he injured. One second you’re good, then it’s like somebody kicked you and you fell. Pain quality is hit or miss, but the feeling is the same like you said.
Yes, that or shot in the leg. Pain is either major, or relatively little but same initial kick feeling. This is due to the sheer amount of force that is held within the thickest and strongest tendon in the body. Imagine a bungee cord snapping. Pretty similar to that 😬
I ruptured mine too. It felt like someone kicked my leg. I knew I ruptured mine as soon I as tried to stand up. It sucks. I guess I’m lucky that my game didn’t have to change. It just took forever to come back to hoop. Rehab and just getting the confidence to jump in the lane in traffic. Oh yeah. I lost my bounce!!!!
Not gonna lie I kinda knew the day was coming that Professor got injured cus he plays so explosive and there comes the point in time where the body just can't keep up no more. But make no mistake about it this ain't the end of him playing ball no way he just gotta adjust his game a little like trying to rely more on his skill rather than his explosiveness. Wish you a speedy recovery Professor and I can't wait to see you hoop again... but please take your time and don't rush your recovery we don't want you to re-tear that achilles.
@@rickrick5041 I know but he'll have to change his game like he has no choice. You heard what the doc said... he said even after he fully recovered the achilles will never be as strong as it was before again and which means it's going to take less for his achilles to re-tear than it did to tear in the first place. But I'm sure that Professor will find other ways to get to his spots without using his full explosiveness... besides it ain't like he is not goint to be able to use his explosiveness anymore he just can't use it as much as he used to do.
@@groforoctavioarmasvega3201 Awe I'm sorry to hear that. I'll keep you in my prayers as well. Just try and stay positive and believe you can recover 👍 God bless
I know the feeling, torn mine b-ballin and I thought dude going up against me to get rebound kicked me! I got up limping and I knew it was a wrap. I had an hour drive home driving a stick shift! Doctor knew quickly by having me lay on stomach and try point my toes. I couldn't! It's worse than breaking your leg. I was helpless for months, you never forget that feeling of tearing your Achilles. You will fear tearing it again for many years doing almost any activity. I tore mine around the same time Kobe did and didn't know anyone else that had until I went back to work month later and a coworker showed me he tore both of his! Hoping Professor a speedy recovery! A long road but it is a big part of Professor's livelihood so I know he'll be back at it!
It’s so sad to see the sadness I his eyes thinking about when he will be able to play ball again. We all love you professor much love to you and everyone around you that helped we all here for you bro bro. You’ll get back into it might just take some time.
Professor, I have been following you for years. I know what you are going through. I'm a Soldier and tore my right Achilles at age 40 on the court. You can comeback from this! It takes hard work and you are the man to do it! I was back on the court, not full strength, at 11 months. The biggest thing for me was the fear of hearing that pop again, sounded like a shotgun, lol. Its been almost 6 years since my injury and I honestly have forgotten it happened. I play 4 to 5 times a week with no ill affects. You got this brother! Stay strong.
@Kingston Vuong also recovery time the less you rest in between games the more prone to an injury you are ,yea hopefully he can come back and still do his moves.
I’m am praying for you tonight my man! You have been a huge influence in my life! So I will pray that God heal you and use you in his plan! God Bless you
praying for ur speedy recovery dont rush it theres still plenty of basketball is waiting for u ... dont ever get into depression always remember we all waiting for u to comeback. . wishes u good health n fast recovery from the phillipines.
It’s interesting to see the professor in this vulnerable state since we are all so used to seeing him in his natural athletic form doing his thing. It’s humbling to think about how even with all the skill and practice in the world, we are all just one misstep away from a bad injury like this.
Amazing how that doctor probably grew up watching Professor during his And 1 days and now is the one fixing his achilles. Seems like a super nice guy too. Best of luck with the recovery Professor and wishing you a speedy/full recovery.
Just suffered this same incident last week. Had the EXACT reaction where I thought somebody through a ball at the back of my heel. But it was just my body failing. Didn’t know professor had this injury as well. Very promising to see him hooping at a similar degree to what he was doing💪🏼🤙🏼
You will do it. I never had an Achilles tear as of yet but already 3 meniscus tears and a ACL tear in the same leg at 23 and I managed to get back as well. A little bit slower but only noticeable to myself. So yeah keep your head up
Bruh I tore my ACL and feel everything this mans going through. The physical pain is definitely not the worst part. It’s the mental of the journey and process you have to go through to get back. But it’s part of your story. It’ll only make u stronger in one way or another. Praying for a speedy recovery. 💯
+++ Demon attack son! There are more things invisible than visible but people don't know or understand that because they can't see it. Professor felt like he was kicked or someone threw a ball at him but the video shows otherwise. Don't dismiss demons just because you don't believe in God. This stuff is real. I wish you well Professor from one Professor to another.
Professor Yancy You’re focusing on the negative, and I’d say that’s a bad thing. You could be right, but you also could be wrong. Who’s to say this isn’t God’s way of challenging the Professor? God has his unique ways of teaching lessons that end up leading to people not seeing his blessings. Point being; you will never know the absolute truth. Why not pick to align with a truth that bases itself off of positivity?
Isaac HAUZEL I’m glad to hear it. Don’t let anyone convince you God isn’t real or that the things I said aren’t true. A year ago I was an atheist, and it took me a lot of time and effort to truly come to understand God (to the best of my ability, at least). You understand God, don’t let anyone take that from you.
The pain in the professors face when the doctor was telling him his achilles tendon would never reach full strength was truly heartbreaking. My prayers goes out to this man and his recovery. God speed.
This breaks my whole heart. I tore my meniscus a couple years back (not nearly as bad of an injury) but it took several months to recover and over a year before I was back to playing ball the way I liked to play. And that was a really tough year so I hope your recovery is quick and easy my man. You’re a big hero of mine. Can’t wait to see you come back even better
I've torn my achilles and it's all about the process.. waiting for it to heal (around 3 months) then therapy/rehab (getting the strength back in that leg another 3 months). Then trying to play again (which is more mental than physical). I can say that I was able to get back in the shape I was before and even better since I used the time for therapy/rehab to work on my entire body as well. Dominic had that injury in the early 90's. Kobe had shoulder problems when he got back. Then add to that the amount of travelling and games they had to play. If you just play 3 times a week of pick-up games then you'll do just fine. Document this process. Show them that people can really bounce back from this. All the best man!
Only the professor could break his own ankles.. The human body is a miracle and I too doubted my own recovery but just keep moving forward and it will happen!
Man i feel you... I got shot twice; one in the leg the other on my stomach, they saved me in the hospital but my body will never be the same again. I now have a leftover chronic trombosis and a left leg paralysis... my playing days are over and ive just turned 25. Dealing with it mentally is the hardest part. I really want to make just one last step back 3 but damn thats gone Get well soon Brother im sure you will adapt your game to the speed of your body. GL
As someone who was torn they’re Achilles this is true, I tore mine by running in cross country, I was running a 6 minute 12 second mile and now I’m running 7 minutes:(
MagicMikeAKAMdot As soon as I saw the clip I knew it was a torn Achilles. Obviously you need a doctor to diagnose, but when an athlete goes down like that exploding forward from a standstill without laterally twisting it’s most likely an Achilles rupture. Shame it happened to him, probably the hardest connective tissue injury to come back from. Prayers that he makes as close to a full recovery as possible.
I am so sorry bro. I've been watching you play all my life. You are my favourite player. I wish you all the best bro. Please stay strong no matter what life gives you moving forward. You have been inspirational to so many people around the world. You will always be remembered for all time long after your time on earth is over. God bless.
“Always basketball” got that same speech when I almost blew out my Achilles last year. Luckily I stopped right before it snapped took 6 months of no hooping to come back. You will be back just takes time
The only person who could break the professors ankle was the professor himself. Even if you dont come back 100%, you still left a basketball legacy that can't be touched. Praying for a fast recovery, brother.
есть разрыв в его acl, есть промежуток в дюйм между задней частью стопы, с воспалением. вероятно, есть орфографические ошибки, потому что я использую переводчик Google, потому что я не говорю по-русски
I’m so sorry that you suffered such a serious injury, I wish you a speedy recovery and that you’ll be able to prove the doctors wrong and play at full capacity again!
I'm really devastated because my childhood inspiration is now getting through this painful experience but I believe that he would be better than ever even though the doctor said the players that experienced this kind of injury wont be the same. With God nothing is impossible maybe the professor won't be the same but the changes will be better not worst. If we believe and we pray we can bring back professor!😊🇵🇭
Good luck brother, my heart goes out to you. Your one of the best to ever do it at any levels. Your skill, determination, heart & zest for the game ranks up there with the greatest of all time. You've given the ballers community so many great moments. Your mark on this game will always remain. I look forward to your recovery & your rebound whatever that may be. I'm sure you'll find a way to bring the people joy with the rock once again.
Sending prayers your way for a speedy recovery brother you know god will never give you anything you can’t handle and this is only another stepping stone in your journey god bless and come back strong!

Does an injury like this imply that there was previous stress/weakening/partial tearing prior to the "full tear" incident? I'm not an expert at all, but I'm fascinated that an achilles can go from completely strong and intact, to completely torn so suddenly, without any external impact or ankle roll. Sending prayers your way Professor, you are a pro and you'll heal up better than anybody else could, stay strong!
I think so. There's a high likelihood he had somehow compromised his tendon over time. I tore a tendon on my foot (ATFL tear) without even twisting it. It just snapped one day when I attempted to drive on someone (basically the point where you push off with your foot). I want to note that if you watch the video where Professor got injured you'll notice that at least twice he was walking gingerly. I think one of the players got underneath him on at least one play. This may have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
In most cases it does. I had achilles tendonitis for 2-3 years and i never got it checked out then one day it just went out completely, fully ruptured. The majority of cases r of middle aged males around the age of 30-40. In this case the tendon must have been worn down from so much playing time. If you play like the professor has for so long itll start to wear down your tendon.
I went back and rewatched the previous video. You can almost see when he tweaks it. He starts shaking his leg a little. It did affect his explosiveness. Then when he went to drive, it fully ruptured.
Dude, I'm a 6'6" big thug who thought he had no feelings, but I have followed you for maybe 20 years and this really moved me. Be strong, keep the faith, be patient and one step forward at a time.
When it happened I knew that you had torn it. I tore mine as well. After 6 months of recovery and therapy. It’s still not the same. Not as explosive as I once was. But Im working everyday to stretch the tendon and work it out to make it stronger and stronger. Praying for you man. Praying for healing and recovery. You are a hard worker so I know you’ll be diligent and committed to come back strong. You got this!
