Political violence is totally unacceptable. However, when i think about Trump's rhetoric from his rallies and how easy it is in the US to obtain a gun, i'm not surprised by this news at all.

there was a website which tracked his golfing during his presidential term (308 times) and rang up the bill. He billed the government for extra carts for security making each golfing day cost around 80000 much of which came back to him. In total millions for the guests, etc. Farage will have to do a lot of buying for the whole house to match that. When is he due in Clacton next?

Notice the slippery elision between the phrases "a shooting incident" and "the gunman". The gunman did not in fact fire his gun. It was the Secret Service. Strictly speaking, therefore, there was *no* assassination attempt, merely a suspected setup for an attempt. It would be nice if the news media could be a little more careful and accurate in how they speak.

@20.30: It appeared to me that when he was quoted back his words "created a story", Vance suddenly realises he's f**ked up in mid flow and actually stops speaking. (Vance NEVER stops speaking,) but then tries to make out the line temporarily went dead. That's about as convincing as "The dog ate my homework.... and then an immigrant ate my dog."

Another issue in Springfield is the immigrants are legal, ie legitimate. Local businesses had a labour shortage. Like most of the developed world, capitalism requires workers & white Trumpers or any Americans not having enough children.

It will make a huge difference, not to the election, but it will make him even keener to drop out of the race. Love or hate him, but he was never that interested in the job, at his age he just wants to play golf without someone trying to knock him off. If a governor for example would give him a pardon he’ll drop out, count on it.

Didn't make any difference to the polling in the last 24 hours. I've never though of voting for a party on a "sympathy" basis, although I did see a lady who had been asked who she would vote for (2010 election) and she said Nick Clegg - because he was the best looking. 'Will it affect the Election?' Short Answer - No. Longer Answer, the prior attempts won't, if a subsequent attempt happens to succeed then the Answer would still be 'No'. (Though there might be more civil unrest).
