Will There Actually Be an FE4 Remake?

Fe4 confirmed. Leif has four letters. Fe4 confirmed electric boogaloo. Leif has 4 letters just like how Engage is spelt with 4 different letters. Fe4 confirmed electric boogaloo x2. It all makes sense now.

To add some fuel to the rumor fire, the first initial "leak" for Engage didn't come from Miasmadelta or Emily Rogers. It was actually 'NateTheHate', who is his Nintendo predictions podcast in January of 2020, talked about the next mainline entry having a protagonist with blue and red hair. This was five months prior to both emily rogers and the screenshots leaker. In February of 2022, NateTheHate posted a video with a thumbnail of marth with blue and red hair, and in there claimed and FE4 Remake was also in the works, and was looking to be coming out after the next mainline entry. Emily Rogers then, herself, in June, stated Nates information was good. Actually, most of the stuff he's said is coming out has, like Metroid Dread, and Metroid Prime Remastered, which he even said was more akin to a remake from what he had heard. About two years before the reveal this year. Also, I find that the wording of Miasmadelta is often overlooked. He wrote in verbatim - "Additionally, the rumors of an FE4 remake are real as well. Gust has helped a lot with this development - if you aren't familiar with their work, you should take a look at the Atelier games on the Switch." This wording could allude to the FE4 Remake being the game that's being helped with Gust. But that would mean a Koei Tecmo/Intelligent Systems collab again, right? Toshiyuki Kusakihara, a director for Echoes amd the lead director for the most successful FE to date, Three Houses, was completely absent from Engage. He shows up in the "Special Thanks" segment of Engages credits. This means he was not at all involved with Engage over it''s years in Development. He's been directly involved at a senior level with every FE since Awakening. And given his wild success with Three Houses - it's very odd that he's absent. So where is he? His last credit was as a supervisory role for Three Hopes at Koei Tecmo. Just to put this into context - this is one of the most hands free roles in the gaming industry, and could easily be performed by many other employees at IS. That, and the Koei Tecmo building is miles from where Toshiyuki Kusakihara typically commutes. The fact that Toshiyuki Kusakihara was not at all involed with Engage, and that he took on a gig that could very well be performed as an easy second job, leads me to believe he's the lead director of the next game, and possibly working with Koei Tecmo on it. Of course, it could just be a new game and not the rumored FE4 Remake. That said, Toshiyuki Kusakihara is a major FE4 fan. So if anybody were to develop a potential Remake it would likely be him.

For what it's worth, based on an interview with the developers in the March issue of Nintendo Dream magazine, the developers did confirm that Fire Emblem Engage was meant to be a 30th anniversary celebratory release that got delayed thanks to COVID. We also got confirmation via the ratings board in Germany that Fire Emblem Engage was rated by them back in July of 2021, so the game being finished for over a year makes complete sense on that front. My rule of thumb is this with regards to if the FE4 Remake is real or not: If it's not revealed in the September direct, it will be revealed early next year. If it's not revealed then either, then it either isn't real or (less likely) being saved for the Switch 2

If "Echoes" was meant to be a title for the remakes it probably won't be anymore since Celica is called the emblem of Echoes specifically and not something more specific to fe2/15 like Emblem of Valentia

I just started the video, but you mentioned that you weren't sure if FE would be part of Switch Online with GBA games added. FE7 is "coming soon" according to Nintendo's website, and FE6 was shown in the Japanese Nintendo Direct. FE8 might be added eventually. FE1, 3, and 4 are all available in Japan on Switch Online as well. No Gaiden or Thracia, however.

It's not an "if", it's "when". FE4 remake is happening, period. But it'll probably take a while - it's probably going to be made for the Switch's successor

Good video! I'm hoping that there will be an FE4 remake, but I doubt it'll be announced until at least next year. On the Three Houses place names, I'd like to note that both they and the FE5 characters are named after prominent figures in Irish mythology (the Dagda and Brigid) so I wonder if the 3H place names were named directly as a reference to the mythology or to the FE5 characters who were already named after it.

The real reason people want fe4 remakes is because they want to see the fe4 characters in the SoV artstyle.

We can only hope. Id really love to see some scenes animated and voice acted like that one massacre or the other massacre or the third massacre....

Another thing about the names "argument" FE4 has a ton of references to celtic mythology. It's prolly just referring to that, considering the other new references to it, such as arehdbar

A little surprised you didn't mention the interview that mentioned the canceled "Fire Emblem remake" for 3ds after the Bowser's Inside Story remake bombed and all future 3ds projects were canceled. I forget where that specific drop came from though so maybe the source was so vague on that it you considered it not even worth mentioning. That could be "Iron 17" or the like. I'm assuming they didn't count Heroes as "Iron 15" even though Sakurai included it in his list of FE titles released up to the point when Byleth was being announced as a DLC fighter.

There were 2 or 3 years when I genuinely expected an FE5 remake to show up because they were never locked to being made in order and there was a period when they were pushing in that direction, but it ended up just being a marketing trend. In general, since FEH released, we have had several red herring-periods like that where they simply focus on specific games from time to time to keep the IP as a whole profitable, but then it never leads to anything bigger. It is a bit frustrating, but it is what it is. Edit: 7:10 I don't think you are onto anything here. Binding Blade and Blazing Blade ARE destinct in japanese(Fuin no Tsurugi and Rekka no Ken) and the FE11 remake title IS supposed to be the longer one, since it is translated "New Dark Dragon and the Blade of Light"(Yes, it shares a naming convention with New Mystery.) I don't think localized titles have any effect on the series since it is still developed in japanese. For reference, the japanese title of Echoes still has "Echoes" in it, being "Echoes: Another Hero King".

To be fair, FE3 has already been remade through Shadow Dragon and New Mystery of the Emblem, albeit is JP-only. As you stated, references are just references, it's very common for any franchise to reference older installments for fanservice in the actual sense of the term. Maybe it's because I'm critical when I consider information but I just never accepted all the "weird" or "extremely coincidental" evidence as proof as a FE4 remake is in the works. At the end of the day, we aren't working for IS so we don't know anything until something is officially announced. That said, as much as I'm a huge fan of FE4 since it's my favorite in the series, until I see a trailer for a FE4 remake, it's not real.

I just want that the next FE game has atleast subtitles in any Portuguese. The only Nintendo games with subtitles in either Portuguese are: Super Mario bros. U DELUXE, Super Mario Party and that's it. No other Nintendo games has any translation in Portuguese.

As in FE4 remake in the making? Probably not right now until information for the next direct. The rumor involving the fe4 remake has partially been confirmed false… but it is a rumor for a reason

I’ve been meaning to play fe4 but it seems like it would be a rough one to play blind, and that’s how I prefer to do my first playthroughs

The conclusion I take from this is that fe 6 is still the most likely remake lol and as an fe 6 fan I welcome this as long as they don't mess up my 2 seconds of final boss music

I wouldn't buy an FE4 Remake without it massively being overhauled. I am a massive FE fan but FE4 is my least favorite game in the series and it's really fundimentally tied to it's narrative and core mechanics that just are super unlikely to be altered. I think it would be foolish to make a remake of it because I think it would preform poorly like every single FE remake has. Maybe this one will break the mold, i'd like it to in the most basic sense of I'd love an Blazing Blade remake and a PoR/RD remake but I know I wouldn't even be considering it. That said, I think it's not unlikely we get it, maybe lower budget, maybe reusing assets, maybe high budget risking it all, not sure but we'll see how it goes. I mean I just will be sitting there waiting for the game after that cuz I can't be made to play the straight eugenics game.
