Al, you are a genius! The trick of the copper inside the banana is genius! I have watched other farmers struggle - even getting bitten, when they try to give the copper capsule to their goats!!!! It was funny you having Gina measure all the ingredients, and then just dumping the rest of the bag in the blender! Gina's face was so cute! Love your channel!!!
i guess im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
The way you'll come to dinner together! You'll help each other fill your plates. You pray and eat together! My heart fills with peace. Thanks Al for sharing! Love to all!
Good morning Al, you have a beautiful affinity with animals, they love you, and they are joyous when they see you....Hopes waggily little tail is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. i pray the snow will melt soon, as I see you are anxious to get your animals out...I am so happy to have to opportunity to see Hope grow up, she touches my heart, melts it actually.she is totally adorable...Figero loves hope too 🥰HOPE🥰
Justin Rhodes has a good mantra he uses "Too Blessed To Be Stressed"! Like Justin, you & your family have so many blessings. Take the time to relax, breath deeply, visualize & let the stress go & think of all the beautiful things you have to look forward to this spring. Believe me, you & your family have so many things to be thankful for! Use that as your calm place to go mentally. It's a beautiful place to go to!
Good to see your wife in video. We don't see her very much. Let her know she made an old Lady smile! Thank all of you for sharing a part of your life.God bless you.
Al, Don't stress. List your projects, chop them into pieces/stages and start chipping away. Can't do one thing, do another. You will get variety and progress. If not a little tired 🛌😀. 'Never' look at the big picture every day. It will scare you. Review periodically. Take time off to relax. This will keep your productivity up. Let's hope you soon say goodbye to the snow. Regards Stephen.
I believe in this approach. Got me through graduate school. Einstein said he did not bother learning things he could look up, as they had been written down.
I have been trying to practice mindfulness, and focussing on my breathing, as I tend to get anxiety due to a multitude of health issues. It has already helped me to reduce my blood pressure!
Wow! I have high blood pressure too. I would appreciate any ideas you have about lowering blood pressure. My good days are when my bottom number is under 100, and that’s not often.
@@kjhull4409 I read an article recently about a study that showed consumption of flaxseed can help to reduce blood pressure. I love organic flaxseed crackers! Otherwise, you could use flaxseed oil in a salad dressing. Also, I have read that peppermint oil can raise blood pressure, so try to avoid it.
I came for hope because I follow the family she's from but I absolutely love your personality and style of vlogging! Keep up the great work I love watching you and your family and pets and livestock!
It takes goats a while to accept a new member into their herd, but some of the head butting is actually their way of welcoming them and playing. If they are wagging their nubby tails they are happy. I love when goats are super happy and jump up in the air and twerk! They are showing their complete joy with life when they do that. I miss having goats. We actually had a baby goat born on or property that we named Hope and she was absolutely precious to us. She was born with a cleft palette and lip and struggled to eat, so we had to help her. She loved to play games with the kids, following them around the large tree in our yard and catching them for head rubs and hugs. She only lived a short while, about 6 months or so, but she really made an impact in our hearts and lives.
Al , have you thought about installing some French Drains in the goat yard ? Draining the water off would make for far less mud ! And help the goat yard dry up much sooner. I will attest that French Drains do work ! The land at my former home "looked " level but actually had a slope to it . With every heavy rain the water would flow towards my house and garage. At the garage the rain water would actually flow under the back wall , across the garage floor and out the front. Not good at all . So I dug out a French Drain across the back of the garage with the drain open end emptying into a drainage swale. It worked ! No more rain water flowing through the garage. The way that I made it was to dig a trench about 8" wide and a foot deep. I placed three or four inches of medium gravel in the bottom of the trench. Then I used 4" drain pipe with the holes in one side and wrapped it with the perforated weed guard cloth . Two or three times around. It's to keep dirt from infiltrating into the pipe. Then the pipe is laid into the bottom of the trench on top of the gravel . Holes side down . Now , fill the trench just above ground level with medium sized gravel. Pea gravel was too small . The gravel settles down to ground level and will soon be covered with grass. When it rains the rainwater flows down slope , into the French Drain and out the open end. The house was a different but similar story. It was built on a crawl space. With every heavy rain I would soon have two feet of water under my house with the sump pump working overtime. So , another French Drain. It was dug in place about 1 1/2 feet from the house foundation. And made the same way as the garage French Drain. Except this time the drain pipe went around the end of the house to end in a dry well in the front yard, The dry well was four feet by four feet by four feet. I lined the sides and bottom of the dry well with the perforated weed cloth and filled it with gravel , which again was soon covered over with grass. At the most after a very heavy rain I would have maybe an inch of water in the crawl space. The sump pump soon took care of that. The dry well allows the water to seep into the ground much the same as a septic tank does. I think that French Drains would help to dry out the goat yard .
Yes, French drains are a good idea. Remember the possibilities of pathogen build up and exercise care to where the drains out let. I suggest into dry wells to retain soil moisture. [Good place to hide rocks] Down sides are when stock yard waste run off gets into natural streams. The Army Engineer Corps says its job is to make water walk off land, not run off.
Meditation is a wonderful stress reliever! I am a kitchen manager and it can be VERY stressful, I don't have a lot of time to myself but when I do I try and meditate at least 10 minutes . It's SO helpful and relaxing! The girls just aren't used to Hope yet, they will eventually. Figaro is so awesome! Love the pup Pluto too!
I’m stressing about being behind in my sowing and planting. A little stress motivates me but when it gets too much I just stand in my garden, take some deep breaths and breath in the joy that is the nature around me. Your channel also helps me distress. You and your family are lovely people. Thanks for sharing. Mags
Over 85k subscribers!!! Congrats Al, Gina & Olivia... looking forward to all the projects Al.. one at a time, No stressing . I'm looking forward to the Barn build 😁

I'm a Jersey girl at heart moved to Florida here 22 years ago. I have already planted my garden & growing nicely. So I thought I would send you some warmer Florida air...lol 💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨 Donna
Thank you so much for another great video. The talk at the end is exactly what I do and I don't have a farm. I stress out so easily. Staying focused is what I have to tell myself daily. Your channel is my favorite. I start my day by watching y'all. God Bless from Rhonda in Tennessee.
FIGARO IS TERRIFIC! So funny and inquisitive! Pluto is so full of energy, that is good. HOPE is getting used to the other goats for sure. Cant believe you keep having more snow. I just opened up my Coop from winter and sure hope we don't get any snow in PA. You made me Hungry again.......
@@mimiso2522 he is so tiny and so big. I wonder if the eggs are furtile. They took out the other roosters to freezer camp so he will have all the lafies to his own self.
Morning Al! Sorry about the snow. I just turned my a/c on for the first time this year. Figuring is quite the character. I’ve never seen such a cute cat. Seriously. I am hoping the other goats will take it easy on half pint. She just might end up putting them in their places before too long. Have a beautiful day!
When you find a dandelion that means no more snow!! I think I’m making your pork roast dinner tonight! Life is good and it will a productive and blessed day!!😊
It looks like Figaro is practicing his goat climbing skills today ; ) lol. Oh, it's such a joy to watch you and Gina together, lets not forget Olivia..creating that goat record binder. She's one smart cookie
What a beautiful day with the Lumnah Family! Little Hope is growing like a weed, Ms Olivia is getting smarter and smarter every day, Gina looking beautiful as always and Al, the Chef, Lumnah! What a joy to share your life. Blessings from Missouri!
The positive I’ve been focusing on the most is I’m almost done with my Chemo treatments and I’m on to the next step of being cancer free. I love watching your videos, you have a great family, and a great way of living.
The jumbled up ended is my head everyday lol. But God bless yall, I started actually letting go and letting God. If I don't get to it today I can only pray for a tomorrow. Things happen, and not everything in life works out as planned, and stress of it not working out is unneeded stress.
The problem with being a highly intelligent person, is we can think up more things then it is possible for us to accomplish. It is just the nature beast.
After the morning rush of feeding our pets & doing the morning chores, I take a coffee break where I read a little scripture and reflect on the day. I go over my planner and make my lists: to do, to buy, to plan, to research. I always feel more centered and calm afterward. I've also started asking Siri to add things to my lists when I'm too busy to stop and write things down..."Hey Siri", put avocado oil on my grocery list." Thanks for sharing your day with us. I always wanted to homestead but it wasn't in the cards. I'm living vicariously through you!
I live in Minnesota. We have a blizzard warning starting tomorrow for rain followed by 12+ inches of snow and high winds. 50s today, but YUCK for the rest of the week. I'm so over this winter! Hope spring doesn't forget about us.
Supper looks amazing. Tell Olivia, great job on making the goat records. We use the same method with our Sheep records. I also keep a record of the medical treatments like when we dewormed, gave CD&T injections, or treated any wounds and trimmed hooves. It's very helpful in the event you need call the vet. 👍👍
Another great video of family, four footed and two. Lol. I wonder if Hope is picked on because they see her getting special attention from you guys. I sure hope, Hope can hold her own soon and get into the swing of things without getting hurt. Love and respect, blessings. 👧🐐🕊
WOW....love the snow...orig from Niagara Falls area.....we can talk SNOW lol. Beautiful whiteout.. Figero is a beautiful cat...solid black face....great markings and good natured. Hope has turned into PRINCESS HOPE of the Homestead....just love her. The animals take a great kindness from you Al. I believe it's most of the SUCCESS of your Homestead is KINDNESS...grows in all forms and shapes....animals, gardening and most importantly the soul. Enjoying your videos very much. Ken Orlando
Thanks for the reminder to think positive thoughts! I get caught up in my daily routine and forget to stop and smell the roses 🌹! Hope you have a good day! Always a good day when you see mud!💕
I am retired now living in Laos Asia. 33c each day I don't miss the snow after living many years in UK. What you found in the yard reminded me of my previous job working on cars, looks so much like a constant velocity joint from a drive shaft. Makes my day your videos looking forward to seeing you get on with all your projects. Would be fun to get your subscribers to think of some names for willows new addition. Keep up the great work and videos
Meditation can be an extraordinary experience if you take the time to practice it. Some people need it to be quiet, others can quiet the outside noise. Focusing on the positive is the key. The snow for instance. It has been a long winter for you Al. But the snow will yield and bring forth settled ground for plants to grow abundantly. Feeding your livestock... Namaste 🕊
Good morning. As always loved the video. The more time that Hope spends with the other goats the pecking order will slow down. Plus the factor of loving on Hope more than the others does not help either. Yes goats do get jealous. As for the stressing part learned my lesson many years ago and blew out my gallbladder. So now my mantra is I am too blessed to be stressed. Was good to see Gina get out and actually have fun playing in the mud. Have a great day Lumnah family.
I love watching Hope's little tail wag!!! I hope the others will start being nice to her. Someone suggested allowing her to have her own pen. Maybe that is a good idea and then she and Figaro can have their own friendship and all will be happy.
I enjoy your blog. I started watching you when you got Hope. I watch Weedem n Reap and fell in love with baby Hope. Thank you for loving and caring for her. I'm concerned that if you put her outside with the big girls when's so little she might be swooped up by a big bird preditor. It would break my heart since I love her so. Your daughter is so sweet, your wife is too and you're so informatable. Thank you. I watch your family each day and trying to catch up with your older vlogs too.
You guys are so mellow to watch ...I'm a Hope fan ...How I got here ... You really seem to love the whole life ...LOTSA FUN BABIES TO WATCH ...Keep us informed of the spring goat explosion
Great message today about stressing and meditation. It is so true and for me and my family it really helps to relieve stress and it offers us a clearer focus on where we are aiming toward and what we need to put into action to get there. Have a wonderful rest of the week.
I always add a quarter or third cup of rolled oats to my muffins in place of part of the flour, you don't know it is there after cooking but it adds some extra nutrition to the muffins!
