@@Red-head-triple1 I used to have tons of oldsleds laying around. Now only one old Ski Doo. A 1981 blizzard mx 5500. It's froze up and rusty. It's all there. I'll never fix it and don't want to fix it. It's a very front heavy sled.
Elan: air leak and now wont idle. Futura: points, carb, fuel tank and now crank seals. Olympic: secondary clutch and brakes. Safari: secondary and idle wheel. This the season for repairs. Cheers from New Brunswick!
I come back to this video again and again because I just love hearing an old 2 stroke roar to life in cold weather. Love the smell o' 2 stroke in the morn.
This is 'Golden'. Canadians keeping our heritage alive. I find it miraculous these vintage bad boys even turn-over being left outside. Most of the machines with original equipment is a testament to the ingenuity of their design. 'Made in Canada' rings true in this video.
Little trick to keeping those primers working, at the end of season pull off fuel line and prime the primer with 2 stroke oil and they will work for a long time.
Reminds me of my 1974 Arctic cat 440! Work on it for 4hrs to ride it for 2!!! Lol. That was years ago. Now I ride a not so old Polaris that runs like a champ. As reliable as a hammer
Tried my '72 Olympic 335 a few weeks ago, ran but no idle. My '78 340/440 hoodless Everest is currently a block of ice. My '03 Polaris ran and moved after an hour of chiseling out of the ice lol
This was my childhood in northern Ontario…. We had 4 machines between my all the family…. And new sleds to But the Olympics and elans were for the kids
yayy yayy cant wait till tommorow. hope we get a real one. im from quebec i forgot where you are. i could never wait so long to start my sled in fact i started it a couple time this summer and im ripping my yard and wood since christmas eve but there is like almost no snow and cant go in the corn fields at all
@@PowerModzOfficial lol. The elans we had. No cover no carb filters. My uncle has plugs for the carbs si snow would not get into the carbs. He also used it as a choke. Terri pulls then remove plug. Three on cold days.
im getting my 72 elan 250 going right now, fires on a little gaaas in the cylinder but i think the tilotson is shot. where can i get a quality rebuild kit for one? your website looks like its dead
47 meters of snow ❄️ ahhhh I’m not sure that even back when I was a kid that I saw a place that would get that much snow Question you work on sleds and ATVs/SXSs I was told by a ATV SXS mechanic that I could put either a sled motor and transmission or was it a watercraft motor and transmission into my Rhino, just wondering if that something I can do fairly easy
I am, just taking some time and I started another channel Rolling up my sleeves. The tube shadowbanned me for some reason and pretty much stagnated my videos a few years ago, im 100 percent organic and never played games but I did shoot a couple of vids that probably offended some of their people at yt hq...was never the same since.
NGK ab-7 I believe right. I got to boxes of 10 on my shelf and I believe their for my '70 olympique. Always kept a box in back under seat. Rest of tools I kept in a box in the ski-boose
That's what got me started with u I built the same sled so many years ago now...there worth there weight in gold in Alberta the xlts 3500 to 5000 all day
@@davidfirth9342 I'm building my 96 xlt 600 special right now. It's slightly custom! Like you i bet searching for xlt videos brought me to this channel!.
