I own a 82 and just got it running after 20 years of sitting

I seen that car sitting there for a couple years but I was thinking of buying it but you beat me to it

My cousin loves these cars hes owned a high mileage 82 mercury Capri 302 v8 4spd manual shift transmission, and a 83 mercury Capri rs turbo automatic transmission 4cyl 2.3 litre, a 84 mercury Capri 302 4spd manual shift transmission, and a silver metallic 86 mercury Capri gs the English version 302 v8 automatic transmission, and the rs turbo was a parts car and a 79 with rusted floors and the busted nose 351 4spd manual shift transmission was also a parts car but it ran and drove. T5 5spd 86 5.0, and a 91t5 5.0 5spd t top GT mustang but his favorite was by far the mercury Capri cars!!

And for the people who say that the capri has a different dash its very similar to the 79-86 Ford mustang dash, the 87-93 dash reminds me of the escort dash and the ford exp if you remember those...

Yo, Jake. Some history... The 1st Capri was the Ford Consul Capri, a British car, introduced 1962. It was truly beautiful. An American land yacht shrunk down. (I suggest a Google). They were expensive to produce so only 20,000(?) or so we're made over a few years. The 2nd was the Ford Capri mk1, which hit the showrooms early in '69. A gorgeous, unique sports coupe based on Cortina running gear. Intended to be Europe's answer to the Mustang. Available from 1.3 litres up to 3. Then came the mk2, which threw away the uniqueness, looking more like a family sized Ferrari. Somewhat like yours, but without that amazing rear window. (I just don't understand why Americans want 10 mpg engines. Back when speed limits were largely 55mph. There are cyclists who can pedal that fast)... Keep 'em comin', fella... (Bugger, I got all that wrong!.. The 1st Capri was the 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Capri, and in 1952 came the Lincoln Capri. See, this is what I get trying to be a smart ass)... If you ever have 15 mins to spare check out Big Car on RU-vid. 'Why did this COOL Pony car fall out of fashion in the 80s?' Really interesting stuff...
