That’s quite nonsensical, it’s the people buying that are classless and have no integrity. People choose to buy that garbage, Arnault is doing a great job supplying the masses
This is one of the main reasons I’ll no longer buy “luxury” items, the quality has long since past. I’d rather take my money and go on a wonderful holiday. That way the memory’s will last forever (unlike the “luxury” items)
I've heard that Louis Vuitton's quality is taking a dive because they are having a hard time keeping up with the huge increase in demand for their product, due to influencers showing the bags. So, they're cutting corners to make more bags in less time to meet demand. Even so, the quality decrease is just wrong.
if we cancel louie, we have to cancel them all! like you said, chanel is falling apart as well. everyone wants to make things cheaper and charge more for it. luxury is no longer luxurious. smaller up and coming cheaper brands that are trying to make a name for themselves give much better quality. these high end brands are complacent and giving us trash bc they feel we will buy whatever they put out.
Hi Dacob! I bought this bag (Nebula keepall 25) and had this same exact experience. I had issues with the handles after just a few uses (crossbody use only).ent pics to my LV SA, got options: refund, exchange, or repair. Chose repair, but after 5 months, got a pic of the same problem. Opted for exchange. If you want to I could share it all with you with more details!!! Let me know 💖✨
Unbelievable! Out of the nearly 12,000 people who watched Dacob’s video, what are the odds that someone would have had the exact same problem with the same bag! I’m glad LV treated you right in the end, but I wonder how many of these bags were sold. Did they do the same thing to the handle on your bag before you decided to exchange it? And if you used it as a crossbody, how did the handle deteriorate? That’s crazy! I’m happy for you that you had a better outcome than this poor guy.
Their solution to this issue is so insulting. They know their handles are so horrible in quality that they actually needed to Frankenstein the bag? How about testing out the quality of their designs to see if it even makes sense before putting it out instead of pushing out fifty collections a year. Smh.
This is fascinating to me because I am a total noob to fashion and I never really took an interest in "luxury" brands until I wanted some Balenciaga sneakers (I like the styles), and then I fell down this dark rabbit hole of evil and child abuse and cheap quality. Then I decided my individual taste is innocent enough. Liking giant sneakers doesn't make me evil, but the morally upright choice seems to just get some nice reps. Both are made in China anyway but one is reasonably priced.
Delvaux is strongly worth considering, depending on whether you like the styles. Maybe the Belgians can come up to the forefront of internationally-recognized quality if Chanel and Louis Vuitton are determined to destroy their brands.
I was literally looking at that bag like a week ago and remembered how much nicer it looked in the fashion show so I didn’t get it: I thought the one in the store I went to was a manufacturer defect lol
We've known about quality issues and horrible return policies for a while now. Anyone still buying is basically at fault at this point. Not to mention that bag looks horrible and something you could buy on the street.
Given how quality appears to have reduced in a number of design houses, I suspect the second-hand market for older products will skyrocket; at least the quality will have been put to the test before purchase.
I’ve gotten a few higher end clothing that I used to trust but the quality has diminished considerably to the point I’d rather make purchases from local consignment/charity stores. At least I know what they’ll look like after washing.
It was bad enough that the NEW bag is falling apart. Their resolution was even worse and insulting. Ferragamo made these metallic bags well. If I am not mistaken, they put clear acrylic over it so it wouldn't rub off.
Abloh made a collection of silver monogram keepalls and softrunks. why didnt they just wrapped that material on the handles instead of painting it with silver or wrapping with a classic monogram canvass
I have lots of LV and few Chanel and they served me well for more than 20 yrs till now but knowing this update I will no longer buy them. Its best to get just the old ones for collection purposes 😉
The bag has no resales value, it’s LV, the collection is know be faulty. And after the repair job, the bag looks fake and there is a high risk, if entering a LV store with the bag, that they would want to test it real or fake But 2 months repair time and such an outcome? That’s why LV isn’t luxury and never will be!😂
I did not at all think they would add canvas when they said make changes. I was thinking they had a different metallic material to add in place for the entire handles.
Agree with your argument about the change - will make it difficult/maybe even impossible to resell. Or maybe as a merchandise to memorize how ridiculous all if this is. And regarding a refund - how can a brand so big get away with this? As a small brand owner I always try my best to make the customer happy and LV does this.
Thanks, Dacob! I’ve had problems with all my metallic bags, regardless of brand. Would love to know which brand makes metallic bags that stand the test of time.
This explains why I’ve seen so many preloved LV bags that look pieced together with old/new parts. Like a worn old canvas bag with little to no patina. Hence it turned me off because I suspected it was fake. Ick!
I have a Gucci Boston from the early 2000 that has a silver handles It looks exactly as his now except it took me 2-3 years of using the bag 😉, I could have sent it I’ve asked but I didn’t had a store close to me at that time in my life I just wrapped a twilly around it now his just old and grumpy like me I still love him ❤
I would appreciate a follow up on this situation. Poor guy didn’t know as much as you do Dacob. I wonder if he saw your video & if so, what happened with his Franken-bag?
Such a shame. My vintage Épi Lussac has faired significantly better in decades than these new products within their first 20 minutes of use. Same with the vintage Speedys.. And those vintage pieces from around 2002/2003 with the cherry blossoms and the graffiti didn’t pull this crap either.
I love kidsuper and wanted one of those nebula bags but I was worried about the silver rubbing off. It does on the cheap silver bags especially if they go in the sun and worried it would do the same. Omg!! Looks like I dodged a luxury bullet there!! 😮😮😮
I expect this from Aldi, but even they will refund you. Was it sent to China for manufacture? It seems so. The rest of the handle will peel ...it's horrible. They should have done a coating of real leather. This is cheap as chips and an insult of a solution with the patch.
They ruined the original bag! He should have said no and exchanged it for something else. Yes...very shady on LV! I see now why the ladies tie on twillies. But the guys seem less likely to wanna do that. 😵💫😵
Just hold on to our LVs because it will just regain its value in the future. The whole world suffers inflation and the value of money decreases, thus it is better to spend and enjoy our resources whether it is through acquiring properties or traveling.
LV is the worst for fast-fashion. I cannot keep up with the bags they put out. There is no way they are selling all of them. As soon as I have to scroll endlessly the sooner I say "nope".
If you’re a big enough sucker to pay their extortionate prices, don’t act surprised when your items fall apart. You’re being scammed and you asked for it.
It looks like it has been spray painted to begin with. Lets just give them a repair that is an entirely different bag. He should have just returned it.
Terrible. He must really like the bag to compromise so much. Not his fault but a warning to never go for the "robust" treatment. I don't think he can get a refund now.
