Thank you for relieving some of my guilt about my messy garage! ;-) I took my 88" Pan off the lift table a year ago and put my new to me Ironhead on it to go through it. There have been some delays and now the Pan wants to go back on it. Yes, horsepower does equal problems, but stock can be boring. Good luck with it and I hope to see the rest of the story.
It’s a disaster I really need to take a day or 3 too clean it. How reliable is your pan? I have one I’m want to get back on the road, but can’t decide if I should stay with a 74” or go bigger. Thank your for your support. I have my fingers crossed I’ll have it running this weekend.
@@warrensgarage4764 It actually runs pretty good when it does. Aftermarket engine parts from many suppliers, S&S cases, rods, pistons, cylinders, oil pump; T&O heavy crank; STD heads, I've had it since 1998. It was piece meal built, 1949 heads needed valve seats, left 1948(??) case cracked, rides in a 1981 FX frame. Usually reliable and fun, last summer I rode it 30 miles away and it didn't want to come home. It would start after a lot of kicking then die when I put it in gear, brought it home on the trailer. I'm in my mid 70's and am not comfortable working on it on the floor and the Ironhead is not off the lift table yet so it waits. I can't devote all my attention to them as all my vehicles are old and my acreage and buildings need love too. I have found that reading a good book in a comfortable chair is a good way to pass the time at my age. 🤔 I am happy with the 88" and would not go back to 74". I worked at an independent performance bike shop in the late 70's, tuned and test rode a lot of stock Pans, too slow for me, I was riding Kawasaki 900's and 1000's then, like quick acceleration and speed.
@@warrenp2022 sounds like a awesome bike, I’m sure you will get it figured out. I learned how to ride on a 61” 1938 knuckle. It was an awesome bike but defiantly lacking in power. I’m not sure what route I’m gonna go with my pan yet. It is a chopper and I already have a hotrod bike so I don’t necessarily need to go super fast. Maybe in a future episode I’ll do a video series of the build.
@@warrensgarage4764 I think you were privileged to ride an early Knucklehead, of course the condition of the bike affects the fun factor. Sounds like you have some nice stuff stashed away. I'm not comfortable doing serious modifications to original equipment, it is getting harder to find. What I do is reversible or I use aftermarket. Your Pan chopper can be perked up with a modern cam and a mild stroker set of flywheels. I'm running 4 1/4" stroke , no major changes but more power. Mine came with S&S 4 1/4" flywheels for an early (pre 1958) motor, I switched them because I changed to the later style crank. I think they are in a box here somewhere if you have a use for them, then I can store something else. ;-) I don't think I am telling you something new that you don't already know, but maybe somebody new to this stuff may learn something reading the comments. If you film it I will watch it, I always like to learn. Thanks.
Hi there, I love the video! In Holland they say if you drive a Harley: “ 2 hours of driving meens 3 hours of renching” But still love the 2 hours top much! Good luck, cant wait for the next one👍🏻
I was noticing that on the red FL in the background is an Evo too but it has a Twin Cam football air cleaner cover...that pretty neat....I have a 14 Road King and I'm putting a Ham Can air cleaner from a Shovelhead on it...oh and I just subbed also...

@@martinnightingale6033 again thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. My main goal for the music is to keep people entertained while fast forwarding the video to cut back on some time. But I will tone down the music a bit. Let me know what you think on the next video. Hopefully I will be releasing one this upcoming week.
