@@JuNaTVFishing Hey Brother how's it going I just wanted to wish you and your family a happy Memorial holiday. I hope you enjoying your holiday brother.
Good video but if your going to do comparison,s you need a dark sleeper tied on another rod do each one 10 casts see if one out produces the other for my money I have the cheaper ones have caught fish on them thats what it's about without breaking the bank
Let me get this straight: You’re catching fish with a bunch of lures that cost 9 times less than the original Megabass lures, but you don’t think it’s worth your money to buy them again because they’re not the Megabass lures? Dang, you’re a tough customer to please! What if both the Megabass lure and these cheap lures are made by the same company in China? I bet you would have a different opinion of the lures if the label says “Megabass” on it. I have all kinds of luck fishing cheap swimbaits that I bought from Aliexpress that cost 4-5 times less than the brand name lures that you find at Bass Proshop so maybe it’s just psychological. Anyway, just imagine if those lures that you have lost were Megabass lures they would have cost you some serious money!
Well I think that’s the idea is that if you’re losing them like that maybe it’s better to go with the OG? Honestly I just bought the Dark sleeper 7min ago but had I seen this before I definitely would’ve gotten the knock-offs. Being a new fisherman I just want to catch a fish (personal victory) so if they work then why not? However my setup might be too light for those anyway. Using a Shimano Nasci 2500 spinning reel with Shimano Sellus 7.1 med/fast rod. Not confident at tying knots yet, so I’m running straight 8/lb mono
@greg6162 first thing you need to do is switch from mono. Fluorocarbon is a better line with less stretch and less abrasion. I personally run 15 lb braid to a 10 lb or 15 lb fluro leader.
Any tips on casting super light lures? I’ve already got a 7ft rod and can’t seem to cast at all. If I put a weight it sinks too deep. Or is it the reel? Thanks.
Depends how light of a kite you’re throwing. Some lures may not be suitable for a larger rod like that depending on the weight. If you’re trying to throw finesse , or lighter, lures on a 7ft rod, you can always downsize the line you’re throwing it on, which will help. I throw my lighter lures on a spin combo with about 8-10lb line.
@@JuNaTVFishing I noticed the newer ones are coming with upgraded hooks on Amazon if I’m not mistaken. I just bought a Dark Sleeper like 7min ago or I would’ve bought these. I’ve heard the Sleepers get torn up and people put super glue on the eye area’s to strengthen it a bit
Where’s the link for these? *Edit: Found a 10-pack* (unbranded packaging… so not the Truscend brand) in the 3” size on eBay ($24) and they’re better quality than the brand you had for sure. Color’s on Haze are almost identical with same pattern. Honestly, I think these came from the exact mold and could actually be the real Mega Bass version. I say this because in China they often do this with certain products and ship them out in unbranded packaging so they can’t be identified. The eyes look way better on these, the size is the same exact 3” as the Dark Sleeper and have had no issues with durability. The swimming action is the same as Dark Sleeper’s as well. I’m tempted to buy a Mega Bass brand just so I can compare them
Hey Brother how's it going. I would say it was a good day you did catch some fish. I know it would have been better if you caught more but you didn't skunk brother. That suck that bait broke off your line like that. But at least you was able to get some fishing in and did not have to run back to your vehicle in flip-flops. Which are Awesome by the way. At least you was on grass to wear if it did rain at least you could take off your flip-flops and run Barefooted 👣 back to your vehicle. I'm supposed to go kayak fishing this weekend brother I can't wait. But good video brother.
Knock off stuff is always hit or miss. Sometimes it works great others you are happy it is only $0.70 a piece. Looks like these could be more miss than hit but you get the quantity so there is that.
True, these weren’t THAT BAD, I just wouldn’t buy them again. And it’s all because the quality of the hooks. I feel like a bigger fish could bend the hook out and they weren’t very sharp. It was fun tho nonetheless.
They’re up in price now… around $18-$24 for 10. The main difference you’ll notice is the hooks aren’t as good and really can’t be changed. You might be able to sharpen them though?
Of course they will work just as well. Megabass is overpriced and over hyped. There’s nothing special about any of their lures Too many people over think this stuff. Stop listening to these pros shilling for their sponsors on RU-vid. Of course, they’re going to tell you whatever they’re shilling is the best. That’s what they’re paid to do.
I mean..you’re not wrong. They caught fish for me 🤷🏽♂️ I’ve used them since this video and the hooks are very fragile, but, someone commented not long ago stating they’ve amped up the hooks. Regardless, they’re not a bad lure for the money, I got 10 for the price of 2.
@@JuNaTVFishing Yeah, occasionally, knockoffs may not be the very best quality, but neither are a lot of brand names. Strike King, Megabass, and a few others come to mind. Also, often you can upgrade the hooks on a knockoff and still come out quite a bit cheaper. Anyway, good video and happy angling!
The Truscends catch fish but don't compare to the Sleeper. The Truscends are too heavy, and the action is nowhere near as realistic. The get beat up quicker too.
I’ve used them since and these hooks bend out quite easy. I have ready that they re-did them and made them better, but I haven’t picked up any since this video. The sleeper is clutch tho.
