This will be rep[lacing my C02 for sure, people might be asking for tubeless, as long as you plug your tubeless and the tire stays sealed it should pump up the tire, I do not think the inflator can pump enough pressure to rebead a tire
My Cycplus (the small one!) re-seated and inflated a filthy, partially unseated 27.5 x2.4 tyre to 21 psi before it ran out. I was damn impressed. I got it on video. In the manual it says it has a 200 pump lifetime. Hopefully when it dies there's some kind of recycle scheme. That would be 👌🏻
It will seat better than most floor pumps. The other thing is its transfers heat to the valve and breaks up and sticky selant that is preventing your pump from working. Ive only had to use a charge pump once. This has done every othe seat well enough.
@@crankshoptv Really? Full pumps of that size tyre? The websites says 200 recharges before a 10% degradation of battery performance. With 4 full pumps of a 25mm @80psi per charge, that's 800 inflations before the battery starts to degrade (but only 10%). That's a full flat every day for 2.2 years. I think 800 inflations, from side of the road punctures, might last me my life time (I am in my 40's).
I recently purchased this and also run TPU tubes. The pump got so hot around the valve it melted the valve sealant and ruined the TPU tube when pumping up. Has anyone else experienced this?
I love it, in 30 yrs when I am 85 and still able to ride along, I definitely 'll buy it, for now I stick to my faithful lenzyne with the hose - minipump, so at least I get some excercise every so often. Thanks GC, a great review again.
Timely, had to use mine this morning. Have the starter AS2. I still also carry one CO2 just in case, have a Trek Domane and the downtube storage is most excellent. I do keep mine reguarly charged but paranoid as the batter life left. Based on you review showing the display panel. I am going to get the AS2 Pro and give my AS2 to the spouse. Side bar tubeless recommendation, always carry a valve removal tool and bottle of sealant. I had a small leak and was able to resolve in materially less time than changing a tube.
I got one of these and it's excellent. It holds its charge for a good long time (months). It's way lighter to carry than 2 CO2 cannisters and there is no risk of wasting a pump, as can occur with a CO2.
You’re right, this changes the game. I’ve had one for 6 months, and after two flats, I’m never going back. Aside from having enough charge for 2-3 tires, a big positive is the ability to partially inflate the tube to give it shape before the install. Cartridges are all or nothing, with no ability to add only 10PSI. Lastly, this pump only takes a 1-2 minutes to inflate. One of my flats was on a -5 C day, and a traditional hand pump would have been torture.
thats wild, I wonder why it broke, there are tons of people I know who bought them that I ride with that have been using them for a while now, but things can brake, People can have bad experiences with products, you should file a warranty claim and get a new one and see if it happens again after the 3rd time.
I hate frame pumps. Middle of the day hand pumping on the side of the road sweating with gnats and bugs flying all on your face. Any moment I will rage and loose my shit
I am thinking you could inflate TPU tubes in intervals to avoid issues? For people running tubeless, a TPU tube is a last resort, so taking a little longer to inflate a TPU tube would be a good deal to not have to carry the inflation tube/extension.
I was a pretty early adopter, and when I purchased I only had the option of the little one. Its ok, but if you have leaky tubeless tires or just tubeless tires lol, you'll need more capacity. I travel with a 10,000 mah battery pack for my lights and my pump so Im not totally screwed in the event that the battery isnt big enough to reach 68psi.
I got one of these after getting fed up with the experience of plugging a tubeless puncture, and then having to throw a tube in the tire anyway because there was still a leak around the plug that wouldn't seal because the CO2 solidified the sealant
Nothing needs to replace my mini pump. Fits in a saddle bag. Doesn’t need batteries and is the most eco friendly option out there. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it
Personally I'm not convinced about this product. I could see it being prone to mechanical problems and battery going flat. To me the C02 makes more logical sense, basically the work of compressing the air is done already by some other machine at a factory, all you need to do is then transfer the air to the tire. No pump, motor, battery, micro computer, etc.
I have one, but just over hyper. Suitable for leisure group ride but not for long ultra touring. If u using a tubeless where sealant can’t work and require to change to a tube. The pump will not able work to like a canister.
Getting a difficult tire to seat the bead, can be a challenge with them. I did have luck yesterday using one, but had times where I had to use a CO2 after wasting 5 minutes trying to get it to bead properly.
This looks great but generic 16g threaded cartridges are far more compact and $20 gets you many, many years' supply. I think I've used one cartridge in the past five years. Tubeless has kind of ended this market, IMO.
Dusty rider here 👋🏻 Saw this thing before. Definitely not an option for gravel running tubeless. If tire will come off this thing is useless. In addition it can brake. Where pump + couple CO2 is a bombproof option.
yea I mean things can happen, your pump can brake, the co2 could not pop the tire back on because tubeless fluid could be stuck in valve, things happen
I remember when you said how great the Fanttik inflator was! THAT product was a joke; battery charge runs out before the tire is inflated! I know because I bought one base on your "advice." Now I use it to pre-inflate tubes instead of using my mouth! Buyer beware!
@@faf.78 The charge stays for months. It's not like phone battery that you need to charge everyday. Just charge it every couple of months and you will be good.
lol the funny thing is that some of us feel the exact opposite. To me, I’m not about to bother with the effort of pumping my tyre if it means I can just use a electronic pump or Uber 😂
I've pumped probably 30 tyres now since 2019 using my shimano Pro mini pump, never runs out and cost maybe $20, these new gadgets look unreliable and some rides I've had four flats so I'd have to carry two pumps anyway
At $110 dollars for this product comparing a $3 CO2 cartridge suggests that my break even would be 37 flat tires. If I had 3 flat tires in a year, it would take me 12.3 years to breakeven. This does not seem to be a good investment to me.
What brand/model did you get? Can you get to 80psi easy? I've been looking at them but they have so many models on Ali and it's quite hard to differentiate between good and garbage.
Just curious, (disclaimer I carry CO2 haven't had to use it in now 50k km) but what ever happened to manual pumps? They don't need to be recharged, you get "intinite" tires filled with them and only marginally larger...
Yeah, but there's a catch with it, you see, you need about 300 reps to reinflate a 29in tyre to 35 psi (mtb); I don´t have experience with road bikes so I can´t tell you exactly how many reps are needed, that mileage will vary because road tyres a narrower but the required pressure can climb up to 100 psi or more; now unless you have infinite stamina, doing 450 mini pump reps after 3/4 of your journey under a blistering sun it's not something you rather look for. For all things practical, I rather have some back up like this one, especially if you´re riding solo
Mate.. Simple 8£ bike pump made of plastic with a psi gauge can be had anywhere... Mines worked for 5 years now with no issues.. This is fixing issues that dont exist.. You said fix the waste of co2 cartridges, but forgot to think that co2 cartridges is waste compared to a normal pump. This is stupidity at highest form.
@@GCPerformance18 used to pump to 95 psi.. Cop out is it's hot? Literally a useless rechargeable toy that will break within the first year of use. Also you can do 2 tyres.. What happens if you need to do more and no moron on the ride has a pump? Your SOOL. This product is stupid.
I cannot imagine a senario when you need to reseat a tubeless tire during ride. If you are repairing a tubeless, you are not taking it off the wheel, so no need to reseat. If you are taking the tire off the wheel, it means you are putting a tube in. The tube will help to reseat the tire.
@@imranwahid11 well if you have a fatal tire deflation and are running on the rim it is possible the tire comes off the bead. You may still be able to fix the tire, reseat, inflate and go. One scenario would be a cut and you put a tire patch on the inside to fix the tire
@@RAP4EVERMRC96 In that case call uber and go home, lol. Too much work for on road repair. If you are too keen, chuck in a tube and you will be able to rebead.
@@imranwahid11 well if you can walk 50km home in one day... I feel safer knowing I have the possibility to get back home xD I don't know anybody with a car to call nor is public transport always nearby. But I guess for a road rider this device is enough. For gravel long distance riders with >50mm of rubber... I doubt it tbh
Love your videos, but you're missing a whole nother type of pump. Pocket pumps. My Lezyne pocket drive pro has saved me at least 5 times. Doesn't require charging or wasteful C02. It fits in my "flat repair" water bottle.
I have that same pump. It took forever to pump my tire up. I was sweating bullets. I went home and ordered one of these. I think I've had it for about 8 months. Well worth the cost
@@GCPerformance18 about 70 psi. It's not very fast, but it gets me home in a pinch. But I'm considering trying out one of these electronic pumps. As long as it can fit in my flat repair bottle 😂
No Aussie reenactment this time? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D5a3rAKtFOE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P-3m1qwN-gg.html
This costs the same as 70 CO2 cartridges. 70 flats or uses and you've made it cost effective. This little piece of electronics won't make it to 70 uses.
Does EVERYTHING need to be battery powered now? What ever happened to pumps that you.....well...PUMP! Frame pump, mini-pump..they all work over and over again, never need charging and aren't f__king CO2 cartridges!!! Cycling once was kind of environmentally friendly, remember?
i watched other ytubers got media samples maybe three months. you are not on their high end list, mate. i am thinking getting this one to replace the mini pump i carry but this newer model isn't currently available here.
@@GCPerformance18 ah, so you were on the list. good for you. i had a bigger cylindrical one back in 2017. i had used it a couple of times when i got punctures. worked well but it was bulky and the battery died after several years. this tiny one with pressure reading seems great.
Seriously…has cycling or cyclists become that friggin lazy that you can’t pump up your own tires. It’s like the industry is trying to appeal to the laziest common denominator. Same with electronic gearing…most of you use it because you never learnt how to tune your own bike properly.
